We loved the house and the location of the villa! We stayed for 1 month and would have stayed even longer! Stéphanie and David were impeccable hosts, always there to help us, with instant responses, and so kind! I would 100% the villa, unforgettable memories and an exceptional place!

The place is very spacious and nice. The outdoor area also offers plenty of space and opportunities for a BBQ and for relaxing. Plenty of bath and shower towels as well as shampoo are provided. The communication that took place via Stéphanie during the stay was also excellent.

A huge thank you to our host Stéphanie for this incredible stay! From the moment we arrived, Stéphanie and her partner took care of us in a way we have rarely experienced. The house is simply beautiful, perfectly maintained, and equipped with everything we needed for a memorable vacation. Their kindness, availability, and attention to detail made all the difference. They did everything possible to make us feel at home and to make our stay exceptional from start to finish. As if our trip wasn't already memorable enough, we also experienced some extraordinary events: the passage of Tropical Storm Cristina on Sunday evening and Monday, as well as a 5.1 magnitude earthquake last night! Despite these unusual situations, Stéphanie remained present, reassuring, and attentive, which allowed us to get through these moments with confidence.

This villa is great. Quiet location and a few meters down at the main road is a good restaurant. The accomodation offers a lot of privacy and good space. We loved the pool and the garden with a few animals coming to visit during the day - you can hear howler monkeys sometimes and spot iguanas often. The communication was easy and uncomplicated. In the dry season the area can have some issues with water supply, but Melanie and the team try to manage as good as possible (thankfully we were not affected).

Amazing stay! Very cute neighbourhood. Central location to many different beaches and amenities. Love our stay, will return!

What a pleasure to stay at Melanie’s Place, we are already working on plans to return. We are two retired couples from Canada, we stayed for 6 nights - but could have happily stayed longer. The place was as pictured and described, it was clean and we could several fresh fruits left on the kitchen table to enjoy. The setting feels like you’re in a garden. The mattresses were soft and comfortable. Stephanie was very helpful and responded quickly to all our questions and resolved all our issues as she is very close by. Between the pool and air conditioning, we were able to stay cool even on very hot days. There are no nearby groceries stores (we went to Hausas), and it’s a short drive to the beach. There are restaurants and a bakery within walking distance. We would highly recommend this great villa, an exceptional value for us.

We had a great stay at Villa Guanacaste. Mélanie was responsive and helpful. The space is beautiful, and a convenient 5-minute drive to gorgeous Playa Grande beach. A couple downsides: there was no hot water throughout our stay and we had to take cold showers as a result. We also had no running water for 2 days, which meant we did not have drinking water and could not cook our meals or shower. We were told this was a city issue. The host was very apologetic (and we understand this was out of their control) and brought us bottled jugs of water, which we appreciated. Overall, we recommend Villa Guanacaste for your Playa Grande trip!

Melanie's place was the perfect space for our family vacation! There was space for everyone to have there own private sleeping areas as well as many common areas for people to enjoy. There was a living room, pool area, outside spacious table, and a full mezzanine over the guest house. We were 6 adults in total and everyone had plenty of room. We would not hesitate to reccomend this place and would love to stay here again. The host was amazing. They gave great local reccomendations and even was flexible on an early check in to drop our bags off as we had an early flight in. Thank you for the most amazing vacation space! 💗 -Luisa

Melanie's property was exactly what we were looking for this vacation. The house was as described and worked well for us. We planned on cooking most of our meals at the house and the kitchen was sufficently equipped for easy, basic meals. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning worked well when we needed it. The pool area was lovely and the outside eating area was perfect for enjoying our meals. the rooftop terrace was covered and a nice place to read or hangout as it has a lot of comfortable seating. There was a couple restaurants within close walking distance and many beaches were a short drive away. The house felt very secure and private as it had a gated wall around it and you needed a key to get in. Overall, we had a great time and the house suited our needs in every way.

Was an excellent Host. Really enjoyed everything about the place and location. Lots of great restaurants and beach is phenomenal 100% recommend, 5 Star!

Magical 3-Month Stay! Mélanie's place exceeded every expectation. Perfect location—close to everything yet beautifully private. The pool was our daily sanctuary, but the real magic was the wildlife! Howler monkeys swinging through backyard trees and my daughter's excitement spotting iguanas created unforgettable memories. Marie and David were exceptional hosts as well—always available when needed but never intrusive, genuinely caring and helpful. This isn't just accommodation; it's paradise offering both adventure and tranquility. Wholeheartedly recommend this magical place to anyone visiting Playa Grande!

We spent a month in this beautiful property. It is in a great location for exploring the area, beach time, walking to restaurants, and access to several grocery stores and local farm stands. We were sad to leave.
