2BR Villa in Playa Avellanas

Excellent, 3 weeks ago

Kaya Villa’s is a beautiful place to stay. Great location. Loved our entire stay We will definitely be back and highly recommend

Our stay at Kaya Villas was wonderful overall, and we would definitely come back. The villa was a little difficult to find at first because of ongoing construction, but our host was incredibly kind and patient. They quickly sent us another location pin and made sure we found the property without any issues. As soon as you walk into the villa, you're greeted with a beautiful, minimalist design that immediately feels relaxing. The location is fantastic, with coffee shops nearby, the beach just a five-minute walk away, and Lola's Beachfront Restaurant became one of our favorite spots. Our kids absolutely loved it. A few things to keep in mind: because you're surrounded by nature, we did have quite a few ants inside the villa throughout our stay, as well as a few spiders. One morning, it looked like either a raccoon or another animal had left a mess near the pool, which attracted even more ants. If you're not used to staying in a tropical environment, this is something to be aware of.

This was my second time staying at Kaya Villas. I brought my 20-year-old surfer son this time because I knew he'd love it. He enjoyed all the local,, challenging surf spots. Being able to walk to multiple delicious restaurants is a huge plus. Hosts are friendly, accommodating and responsive.

Our family of 4 really enjoyed our stay here! The home itself is gorgeous! Well laid out, lovely furnishings and finishes, great big floor to ceiling sliding doors, great yard and pool. Comfortable beds, really nice bathrooms and kitchen. There are two identical villas side by side but both very private with their own pools. Our brother and his family stayed next door which was really convenient and great for the kids. The location is great. It’s a 10 min walk to the beach with cute shops and great restaurants all around. The beach is beautiful. Surf lessons there were excellent and so fun. Wonderful, responsive hosts who took the time to recommend local spots, grocery stores, taxis etc. As the other reviews mention, the Playa Avellanas area has unpaved roads, so get an appropriate car. We drove a bronco. The JW Marriott is 10 mins away so we were easily able to rent our car there after getting a shuttle to the home. We hope to visit again soon

Beautiful and relaxing in every way! Kaya feels very private because of all the lush tropical foliage that surrounds the villas. Comfortable bed, good water pressure, and the most lovely little pool. As to food - Kaya is right next door to La Floresta for coffee, baked goods, and eggs Benedict, Lola's is a sprawling beachfront restaurant with excellent ceviche and drinks (get the Monkey), a 10 minute walk away. If you expect fast restaurant service, you're going to need to relax yourself at Lola's - they'll get to you. Our favorite place was Burritos & Bowls; good food, but the real treat was getting a big half and half of their creamy frozen coconut and passion fruit drink every single day; walking home, stirring in some rum or vodka and sitting in the pool for the remainder of the afternoon. Also, there are monkeys! Of note, the terrazzo section of the porch is very slippery when wet, it's best to make immediate use of the provided long rug to walk between the pool and doorway.
