Where does one start? Rum Point is a well-appointed, ocean-front home and its owner, Martin, and his staff, Donicio and Kiwi made our visit unforgettable. They are friendly, warm and helpful hosts, which made us all feel at home. Martin’s beloved dogs, Moira and Tony were charming hosts, as well. Despite our visit during the “off-season” when there were periodic rains, the house provided our family of four with ample space for time together, as well as for solo time to read and relax. Placencia is an idyllic village where shopkeepers and residents were always friendly. We enjoyed a few meals at The Turtle Inn, which were delicious and memorable, including lunch on the beach. Access to The Turtle Inn was a great addition. Like everyone else who has stayed at Rum Point, we are all plotting our next visit!

Rum Point is heaven on earth! Martin has created an incredible seaside retreat that has to be seen to be believed. The house is so spacious, unique and has the best views. If you have the opportunity, stay here!

Martin, Doni, and the entire crew were amazing! This house was set up perfectly for our family. We had privacy yet the ability to be active if we wanted to. We loved opening all the windows and doors in the morning to take in the views and the ocean air! The home was nicely decorated and detailed, the kitchen is set up perfectly, the beds were very comfortable, and the pool was perfect! We can’t say enough about this house, Martin, and the staff! This was exactly what we needed! The best part was being able to meet the Rumpoint pack! The dogs were a highlight for our family! We didn’t want to have to say goodbye. We also loved being able to utilized Turtle Inn, an iconic hotel, and a place I know our family won’t forget. Thank you so much for making this trip so special! You have a gem and we feel lucky to have been able to experience it! We will be back!

We were a group of six staying at this amazing home. Martin and his team were great at helping us plan activities and shuttling us to and from. There weren’t many tourists at this time of year, so getting into restaurants with our group of six was easy. The Rum Point dogs were friendly, especially Moira, who even jumped on the paddleboard with my husband. Also, be sure to take advantage of the amenities at Turtle Inn. We enjoyed two dinners and a lunch there and it was great! It was a trip to remember, and we will definitely be back!

We had a group of 7 and thoroughly enjoyed everything about Rum Point. The setting was so beautiful, the staff were very proactive, personable and kind. The amenities were well appointed and we also enjoyed having private chef service a few nights. Incredible stay and highly recommend!

Martin & team were incredible! Our stay was so amazing! You cannot beat the views from every room and then ease of Turtle Inn right next door! Highly recommend renting the golf cart to make it even easier to navigate the area! Doni went above and beyond taking time to build us a campfire on the beach and the most special experience - The Butterfly House! He was very knowledgeable and our children even get to hold and interact with the butterflies! It was great! At Turtle Inn, the hospitality continued! The staff allowed our children to feed the chickens and bunnies and even collect the eggs in the morning! The entire experience at Martin’s place was PERFECT! And I almost forgot the dogs! The Rum Point Pack were such a unique piece, but made our stay feel even more homey! Overall 10/10!

The house was even better than advertised — beautifully maintained, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped. The host was fantastic, always readily available and quick to help with anything we needed. The location was perfect for unwinding in peace, yet just a short drive from town for restaurants and shops. A wonderful stay all around — highly recommend!

The Rum Point was amazing! I do not even know where to begin from the private pool and beachfront to the beautiful grounds. All the bedrooms have AC and are private which is nice as they are not connected to the main kitchen/living area. So for those traveling with family and friends this is the perfect place! We biked to town daily to get our dose of Tutti Fritti gelato. We lit the fire pit at night while enjoying the bright moon reflecting off the water and beachfront. The dogs on the property were fun and friendly. My kids loved playing with them. We also had full access to Turtle Inn so we had the best of both worlds! It would be remiss not to acknowledge Martin who was warm and welcoming. He was the BEST HOST! And a special thank you to Doni the property manager who always checked in daily to make sure we had everything we needed and even gave a tour of the butterfly house. There is much more to say but truly we loved loved this place and we cannot wait to go back!

Our family had an amazing time at Rum Point! You can’t beat the amazing views from the upstairs balcony and the outdoor spaces were wonderful. There was plenty of space for our group to spread out, or enjoy time by the pool or in the upstairs deck together. The house itself is thoughtfully designed and spotlessly clean. The open layout of the upstairs living room and kitchen was great and the large windows and doors made it easy to enjoy the sea breeze and sunrise every morning. The location is good —close enough to the village (about 5-10 min drive) to enjoy great restaurants and local culture, but far enough to feel peaceful and private. Martin and staff were warm, helpful, and easy to communicate with, offering great recommendations and making sure we had everything we needed. We loved the dogs too! Always a nice welcome in the morning when the pups stopped by for a visit :) If you’re looking for a relaxing beachfront escape in Belize, this is the place!

Martin is an incredible host and Rum Point was the perfect place for a family reunion with lots of nooks for relaxing and taking in the sea breeze. He went out of way to help us with extra items like a sugar free Birthday cake, and his staff were just lovely and accommodating.

The house was more than just a comfortable, beautiful place to stay. It was art. For all of the senses. Martin really knows how to bring out the serenity and aesthetics from the textures used throughout to the local art displayed everywhere to the cultural pieces to the resources used to the local fruit offerings. Service was exceptional. Dogs were a complete joy. We will hopefully be back one day!

Rum Point is pure MAGIC! The house is amazing!! You can stay in all day and enjoy your own private resort life- OR- take a short drive/walk to explore the town. You will not be disappointed either way. It’s a perfect getaway for a family reunion/vacation, adult trip or friend reunion!

We had such a wonderful stay at Rum Point! The place was exactly as described—clean, cozy, and full of thoughtfully curated touches that made it feel like home. The location was perfect, close to everything we wanted to explore, but tucked away enough to be quiet and relaxing. Martin was incredibly responsive and he and Doni made check-in a breeze. We especially loved the sunny patio and pool. Access to Turtle Inn amenities were an excellent surprise. Would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great getaway!

Rum Point is the perfect chill vacation spot for the whole family with a beautiful well laid out house with tons of room, a great pool and access to the beach. Martin and the team at Rum Point and Turtle Inn are really great, knowledgeable and the perfect hosts. But the real hosts of this place are the dogs that live at Rum Point and make it feel like home. We all fell in love with the dogs. The activities we booked through Turtle Inn included incredible hikes, zip lines, rafting, horseback riding, Mayan ruins, great fishing and a wild cave / water adventure. We loved this beautiful, clean and relaxing place.
