We were staying in the yellow house. It's a little house with all the necessary amenities. It also has a garden and a pool in the common areas. We saw sloths and other animals on the property. The owners who run the accommodation are very nice and very attentive. The location is good because you are less than a 10-minute walk from downtown and right on Playa Negra. Highly recommended

The accommodation was functional and exactly as described, perfect for a family but also suitable for a couple. Access to the beach is just across an unpaved, safe road; the pool is nice. The atmosphere is peaceful at this vacation rental property. The hosts are welcoming, and the owner helped us learn about the wildlife in the garden. They are French-speaking, which is a plus!

What a fantastic place. Lovely hosts full of knowledge..super helpful. Great location in beautiful garden with lots of wildlife. Many sloth in the garden and lots of iguana and frogs. Easy walk into 'the village' with restaurants, although the local Reggae Bar had a great vibe and views. National park is also easy access with lots to see. Definitely worth coming to Cahuita and staying here. Five stars!

Beautiful place!!!

We loved our stay at the yellow cottage. Location was amazing - right across the street from the beach and walkable to town. The grounds were beautiful and the cottage had everything we needed. Air conditioning in the bedroom was a bonus. Marise was a great host - very welcoming and responsive.

The house is very nice and comfortable, but the nicest thing is the garden and the pool area... everything is perfect, the amount of fauna that lives in this garden is incredible!!! We saw many sloths, spectacled bears, toucans, iguanas and many birds. Also colorful frogs. Not only were we able to see them, but we were able to learn about their behavior, thanks to the fact that every time we were watching, Pier would come over and tell us about these animals with a lot of passion. i highly recommend it

Beautiful architecture, cozy and complete.

Highly recommend staying at this beautiful location. It truly is an oasis paradise with beautiful tropical plants and flowers, toucans and several sloths in the trees. The host is extremely responsive and helpful. We felt perfectly safe and cared for. Had a wonderful time, hiking in nature, swimming at the beach, taking surf lessons, snorkeling, and enjoying great food and beautiful weather.

We had a lovely stay. Beautiful garden full of monkeys, sloths agoutis, crabs under footbridge, orchids and tropical plantings well maintained. Charming.

A beautiful location in a great area. The garden was amazing and full of interesting animals - we saw a mother sloth with her baby, iguanas, toucans, howler monkeys. Pierre gave us so much interesting information on the fauna and flora. Walking distance to great places to eat and literally 5 steps from the ocean and the pool was perfect for relaxing. Great for families or those looking for a quiet retreat with lots to do just outside

This is an incredibly beautiful property and is like a mini-zoo. There are sloths, toucans, frogs, lizards and other animals around you at all times. If you stay for a few days, you’re likely to see more animals here than what you will see in the park. If you like to hike, I would recommend getting a taxi to the Puerto Vargas entrance of the park and walk all the way through the park and right back to the property (about 9 km). Marise was very helpful and a great host. We stayed here with our 3 young children for 10 days and everyone had a wonderful time. It is a very safe and comfortable place - and you have maid service (included in the price) every day!

The property is beautiful, host was fantastic! It was fun to experience the Caribbean side of the county and enjoy this lovely property! Very clean, safe, beautiful grounds!

Playa Negra was so perfect, the gardens and cottage are really beautiful, like a little oasis! Lots of wildlife in the garden and surroundings. The beach is across the dirt road outside the pool is great. Lots of nice restaurants all within walking distance. We highly recommend the national park and beach right next to it, although watch for raccoons trying to steal your snacks!
