Island House

We had a great stay on Roatan. The house was well-suited for our group --two families with young adult children. The view was epctacular and the house is well-located. it was nice to be able to use the amenities of the Kimpton ( 5-7 minute walk), and shops/restaurants/beaches in West Bay were a 10-minute walk (over a pretty steep hill, but walkable). There's also a small restuarant/bar in the property right next to the house that we used and enjoyed. The house itself is comfortable, though not well lit. We particularly noticed that while preparing evening meals. Also, when we arrived, the dryer didn't work and the ice-maker was leaking. The maintenance team was very responsive and came to repair things quickly, but the amenities in the house are tired (the coffee maker needs replacing). Overall, a good house in a great location!

The Airbnb in Roatán was absolutely beautiful! The views were incredible, and the house was decorated really nicely. You can tell the hosts put a lot of thought into little things like having a coffee maker, coffee pods, and kitchen basics. It felt super homey and cozy. That said, we did run into a few issues. The water situation was tough — we didn’t have hot water at all during our stay, and sometimes we didn’t have any water at all, which made it hard to shower or even brush our teeth. We were told we might’ve used too much water, but a maintenance guy later said there was a leak from a broken part, so that was frustrating. There were also a lot of bugs inside the house — we found roaches in the rooms — and that made us pretty uncomfortable. Some stuff in the kitchen was hard to find too (like the blender pieces were in totally different places), and the pots and pans were super small for such a big house, which made it hard to cook for everyone.
