My little family of 3 had a wonderful time staying with Carol. She had amazing recommendations of course, but what really stood out was the gorgeous property and how immaculately clean the accommodations were. We are birders and naturalists, and the apartment was perfect for hearing and seeing the morning chorus of birds. We didn’t stay too much on the actual grounds, and we will if we return, but that’s because Bijagua, Katira, and the surrounding area has so much to offer. Of course there is Rio Celeste, but our main focus this trip was wildlife. Nearby is a rare heron rookery (incredible time), an amazing tapir preserve (we saw two!), and even the roads had easy bird viewing. Highly recommend staying here. Obviously the area is beautiful and so are the grounds, and I want to emphasize how helpful Carol is and how clean things feel, which is a comfort in the muddy rainy season!

A great place to relax surrounded by nature

A great place with amenities as needed. Good cleanliness, and Carol and her son Alex are very attentive. They recommend activities to do in the area. I recommend it 100%.

This place was spacious and clean. The location was very pretty, and close to places like Rio Celeste, making it easy to go early in the morning and avoid the crowds. Great stay!

The apartment was spotless and incredibly well equipped. The kitchen in particular stood out, with sharp knives and everything you could need for cooking, which you rarely find in an Airbnb. Best value for money of our whole trip so far. We were welcomed by two toucans on our very first morning, which was just magical. The garden is full of wildlife, the surroundings are peaceful and our host was wonderfully warm, full of great local tips and even booked tours for us. Highly recommended!

What a gorgeous property and unit!! We were able to see and hear a variety of birds, plus the gardens are beautiful with many types of plants and trees and a lovely pavilion with grill, hammocks and tables. And very kind host eager to answer any questions and attend any needs. Everything was spotless clean. Fully equipped kitchen and spacious bathroom. A short drive to visit the amazing Río Celeste. Close to supermarkets too. Felt like home and was very comfortable. Incredible value for the price you pay.

It was beautiful! The accommodation is located in a lovely spot. The Airbnb matches the photos very well and is even prettier in person! We were hosted very well, and everything was explained very well. We recommend 100%

This place exceeded my expectations. The picture outside does not reflect how nice it is. Quiet and serene. The kitchen had everything we needed, bathroom and bedroom was clean. The place is very well constructed and spacious. The two hammocks in the common area were a bonus. We sat outside for breakfast as well as in the evening. I saw a tucan and we also saw parrots. Hanging lights outside added a nice ambience and was a nice touch. The only negative was a very noisy squeaky bathroom door when opened and closed in the middle of the night. We recommend this place and would come again.

We had a wonderful stay in a beautiful house, in a fantastic environment with really great hosts. Alex told us a lot about Costa Rica and all the things you can do here, and we can definitely recommend this accommodation. We are very grateful for this amazing experience and absolutely satisfied. The place is also very close to nature. There was an incredible garden and a really beautiful view into the jungle with two hammoks! We can only highly recommend it. 😊 Thank you for this experience!

Carol is a very friendly, smiling and helpful host. She was very helpful in guiding us to places of interest and restaurants. Listing is as described. It is very comfortable and perfectly equipped. You will surely see toucans from your terrace and you can enjoy the calm outdoors. To make the north/south connection it is a place of choice.

a perfect place to stay if you want to experience rural CR. it's an easy journey from la fortuna- about 1.45 hours. the gardens are lovely. The property is spacious, well equipped, comfortable and clean. Can recommend 100%. There was a little noise from some building work being done in the garden when we were there, but this finished at 5pm.
