Leila was wonderful as was the reception staff at the complex. The community was as very well maintained and clean. For me and for the cost…ample coffee, sugar, dish & laundry detergent should be included. Especially since only 4 beach towel were included for 4 of us. We either need more towels or a way to wash the 4 provides. With that said, I was able to talk the front desk into providing me with a couple of laundry pods. If you are coming for more than 2 nights, I suggest brining your own detergent, coffee and sugar with you. Some of the above is not easily procured on-site. It is also important to note that north island does not connect with the south side of the island. There is a very punctual water shuttle (free).

I almost chose to not write a review because I want to keep this place a secret. This blu zen area is fantastic. There is on site managers here for you the whole stay. It is basically a really nice resort. All of the on site restaurants are superb. My family loved the little convenience store for late night ice cream treats. Will stay again absolutely.

Host Response

John came with his family and was easy to host and communicated well throughout the booking process. They were respectful of the property and left everything in good order. Highly recommended.

Leila was very good at communicating and extremely helpful with instructions and directions. Ola Kai is one of northern most properties on Caye Caulker so it is peaceful as well as beautiful. 3 of the cabanas are ideal for couples with spacious kitchens. The unit I stayed in was a bit smaller but perfect for my needs. the pool is awesome as well as the outdoor shower. There is a covered patio area with a long bar and 6 stools, sink. BBQ grill and plenty of drinking water. Bicycles provided, 2 per unit are the way to explore and visit the two well groomed beaches on the island. very close is la Fogata, a wonderful casual restaurant with a convenience store attached. Fantastic staff. Traveling between the north and south sides of the split is easy, even with bikes, with small boats making trips back and forth. For our group of 7, Clayto who operates one of the boat services became a huge help. Ola Kai has to be one of the best rentals on the island .

Leila's house is very, very nice, clean and organized. The outdoor space with the pool makes it truly unique, especially if you travel in large groups, we were 11. The house is located in the northern part of the island, which is the most isolated, but with the bikes in the house it is very easy to get around. We liked staying in that quieter part where, in my opinion, the most beautiful beach in Caye Caulker, Bliss Beach, is 10 minutes away by bike. Highly recommended!

Beautiful resort, beautiful and extremely clean rental unit, great amenities and multiple pools - along with restaurants on the property including a market store and a lovely spa. Staff onsite is very accommodating, responsive and communicative. Host was very responsive and helped us to arrange transportation, a private chef, and other recommendations. Would definitely stay again. Only negative was that we did not have nearly enough toilet paper/paper towels for the length of our stay (and number of people) in our unit. We had to keep making requests for refills from the front desk on toilet paper, as no extras were left in the Airbnb. Same with the towels and washcloths.

Leila was a great host and Blu Zen was phenomenal. We were greeted at the dock and escorted to our condo, which was immaculate inside and looked just like the photos. The place was clean and spacious and the A/C worked perfectly (and was adjustable). Leila suggested we use Murray as a tour guide and he took us from the airport to the water taxi terminal, and to cave tubing and a howler monkey preserve (highly recommend Murray as he was easy to communicate with and was very knowledgeable). Blu Zen has a couple restaurants on-site that were easy to walk in to (we were there off-season), and the market had all the necessities we needed (including a coffee bar, ice cream, beer fridge, and a freezer with meats, bacon, etc.). They also have bikes (free) and golf carts for rent which we took up to Bliss Beach to see the sunset. It was an easy 10 minute ferry down to the south island that leaves right from the dock. Super comfortable and felt like home.

Host Response

Thank you for the great review. We try our best to give all our guests the best experience ever. 5 Star quest! We are here for your next trip to Belize.

We stayed here for a few days on a visit to Belize with our young family. We received proactive messages from the host and helped us arrange and hold card and help from the airport to the island, handling all the luggage. The stay was fantastic and the staff couldn’t do enough to help make our stay enjoyable. We don’t always revisit the same places twice, but we both agreed we would absolutely stay here again if we visit this island. Book this place, you won’t regret it.
