Host Response

Thank you Hector glad you enjoyed and welcome anytime !

We are a family of 5 (3 high school age kids). This house was absolutely perfect for what we were looking for - family time, access to the ocean, wonderful pool, and adventures close by. Israel was amazing and scheduled horses on the beach, fishing for dorado/sail fish, bonfire, massages on the beach, zip line tour with Sky Adventures (REALLY cool), and his private "monkey tour." Here are a few notes: - The bunk room can easily handle 4 kids. - Google Maps said the drive from San Jose was 2.5 hours, but traffic and construction made it 3.5 hours, so plan accordingly - The dirt road into the house is very easy. - We played in the ocean non-stop. The house has 4 boogie boards which were awesome! There were some times where we felt a strong undertow, so we would move to shallow water - Having direct access to the beach cannot be beat. - The host and Israel were both fantastic. We would highly recommend staying here.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It was a pleasure hosting your family. We’re thrilled to hear that the house was exactly what you were looking for and that you enjoyed the ocean, pool, and all the adventures nearby. Israel will be very happy to know his tours and assistance made your stay even more special.

This place was absolutely amazing and beautiful! The house with the open layout was perfect, the pool and the waterfall right out back was perfect, and then 20 steps to the beach. It’s not a tourist area at all so it’s pretty much a private beach. Israel, the caretaker was absolutely incredible! He was so nice and kind and helpful. He responded to anything that we needed. If you need something, ask him, he is the man. If you are going to do a mangrove boat tour, don’t book elsewhere, look no farther. Israel has the boat 10 steps from the driveway. He took eight of us on an amazing mangrove boat tour and saw monkeys and crocodiles and the mangroves. He is so good with kids! He just wants the kids to have a good time. We really appreciated him and enjoyed hanging out with him. Do you want to ride horses on the beach? No problem, he’ll have horses out back whenever you want them! And everything he set up for us, we felt was pretty reasonably priced. Thank you for an amazing week!!!

The backyard and view to the sea are spectacular. The beach is right at the end of the yard, and it is beautiful - long and almost empty of people! The pool is very pretty and we loved the hammocks. The ocean was too rough to swim - a bummer but we enjoyed wading and walking on the beach. A special shout out to Israel, who took very good care of us. Take his boat tour of the mangroves - it is a truly unique and wonderful experience! We love Israel’s sweet dogs! The home could use a little TLC to make it really exceptional. The couches need replacing (leather so torn up we got scratched). The doors don’t close tightly so expect bugs. The front of the house is scruffy (but who’s bothering to look at the front with that back view!). Overall, the place is more dated than the pictures show. If you, like we, care more about the natural setting than the interior, this place is ideal! A memorable stay!

Overall, we loved the place—great views, right on the beach (which is vast and empty). Israel is a great guy who lives on the property and helps you with anything you need. Take his monkey tour or ask about other tours he offers. Some things that we didn't like: - the bumpy road that takes you there. It's about 10-15min driving through big potholes to go anywhere. Luckily we have had a bigger SUV to absorb some of them. - towels... The towels were terrible. I think they should trash them. They are useless. Thankfully, they provided plenty of beach towels that we used instead. - many things in the house are dated and need to be updated. - the place needs better organization for things - bring your own detergent, or get it in a super, which is a bumpy drive away :)

Glad you truly enjoy the essence of Palo Seco, thank you for positive feedback we will work on the items listed .

It’s hard to sum up my feelings about this place. It was so special and wonderful. It’s hard to describe. I also hesitate about giving it so much praise because I worry that next time I want to book it it’ll be full! The place was perfect. It was right on a private beach at the end of a private road. The water was a perfect temperature. The sand was soft. The ground Keeper was so friendly and very helpful. He was very kind to my kids and we felt right at home! Also a huge added bonus were his dogs. My kids miss our dogs when we travel and they were thrilled to find dogs here waiting for us when we arrived. There were limitless activities for us to do. We could lay around on the beach or swim in the pool or do excursions that were close by. This part of Costa Rica is extremely beautiful! I would stay in a place like this over a resort any day.

We are truly happy you had such an amazing experience , just let us know ahead of time so we can arrange details for your family , thank you for your appreciation, have an amazing 2025 !

This is a great place and I do highly recommend it. Clean, quiet, and about as non-touristy as you can get. Beautiful beach with hardly anyone on it due to the seclusion of the island. The pool was great. Israel, the grounds keeper, was awesome and even prepared us fresh coconuts to drink. He has several friendly dogs that my family really enjoyed. As noted, the current is strong here but honestly where isn't it strong along the coast with all the big waves? We took precautions but still all enjoyed playing and surfing in the water. They set up private surfing lessons for us right on site. The only downside was mosquitoes. When it wasn't the heat of the day, they were everywhere except right on the beach. We didn't experience this once we went down Manuel Antonio and Dominical. The mangroves were pretty, but again, covered up in bugs.

this villa is wonderfully well located directly on the beach which has km and km of sand...clean and quiet I met 4 people in 13 days. Safe because the caretaker lives on site, he showed us around the mangroves by boat ( $)and monkeys and it was wonderful , the most beautiful excursion we did. He is very nice and he has 6 dogs who live on the property they are all very nice and they will play in the sea , they are very funny and their happiness is contagious. but if you do not like the dogs please notify them when you book, they can take action. there is also a kitchen that moves on request to the villa it is very good and very kind and affordable. the ideal place to have family peace if you love the beach. I will definitely come back. know that the nearest cities parrita and quepos are not the most interesting. But jaco is 45 min away. The waves are beautiful and intense.
