Really amazing place to stay, the host was very proactive and helpful. The design of the house its self was really something special.

We are sorry about the river pool. In the rainy season it is not always available. The water level is high and low. Very unpredictable. Usually the colored lights are fine but I ordered new ones anyway. The upstairs bedroom has an air conditioner so you just need to read manual for instructions. We truly work hard to make everything perfect for our guests. So next time you come we will have everything up to par for you and a free bottle of wine 🍷.Thanks again for your thoughts 😊
This is not just a place to stay it’s an entire adventure. Everywhere you turn there is something unique that makes you say wow. We booked two nights and enjoyed all RVR had to offer including the amazing river, indoor spa, relaxing open space with wildlife sounds, unique art collection and chef style kitchen. The hosts went out of their way to ensure all our questions were answered and that we had what we needed. This is absolutely a place you should book when visiting Costa Rica. It’s also super close to the cloud bridge forest which is so amazing.

Amazing property, unique and perfectly functional. You absolutely MUST come see this place! The hot tub is awesome, and the comfort is great! For 4 people, it's big enough, and everything is designed to make you feel comfortable there! Thank you Robert
Our stay was brief but well worth it for the experience. My kids loved the treehouse feel, and the rushing river was like a lullaby. I just wish the water level was higher so we could have enjoyed the natural river pool.

The river has days its raging, other times with shallow pools and everyday it's different. We are glad you connected with the river and hopefully next time there will be different conditions. Absolutely wonderful. An incredibly unique home. I would highly recommend unless you have issues with stairs. My personal favorite was the viewing area above the Rio.

Honestly, the price of the place is overpriced. There are no places nearby to buy food to prepare for yourself; fortunately, we had already brought food, and we ended up buying more in Pérez. The second bedroom is small, and you hit the ceiling (I'm 164 cm tall). Both bedrooms are on the terrace, so you have to climb spiral stairs. The experience of staying in the middle of the mountains among the rocks is wonderful, but I think it is very expensive for the level of comfort. The toilet seat is very high, and your feet end up dangling. The decor is overloaded, and you feel overwhelmed by so much stuff. We feel that less is more; the rocks and nature create a very beautiful and unconventional atmosphere, so all the extra decoration with stuffed animals and artificial plants detracts from the natural elements. The pool in the river is full of moss, tadpoles, and stagnant water; we couldn't go in; it needs maintenance.

Vero was a difficult guest but we are glad she got to experience our beautiful place. She used soap in the hot tub for her kids so we had to drain it. She left lots of food on countertop and it took us double the time to clean. But she is a lovely woman and we wish her the best
Wow!!! We didn’t want to leave this magical place! Made our first 2 nights in Costa Rica super special and memorable. The place deserves more than 5 stars! We couldn’t stop calling family and friends to show them this Gem! Highly recommend.

We were very excited to go to this air bnb and our kids were pumped to see the statue of the Mammoth on the front lawn. But then the mammoth didn’t exist. The drive in to Robert’s is through a seemingly dangerous area. When we got settled, we went out back to swim, and the “pool” was fed by the river and it’s currently dry season. The pond was pretty nasty and full of tadpoles. We ordered the “seafood extravaganza” dinner and Robert did drop us off some nice home cooked fish and shrimp in Tupperware. At $95 per person we had eaten at some of the nicest restaurants in CR, this was not worth even 1/4 of that. The power went out the following morning so our kids were cold for a few hours. We left that day and didn’t ask for a reimbursement because it was last minute, nor did we get money back for the massages we didn’t have yet. I then got a voice note from Robert’s assistant offering me $50 to leave him a 5 star review. I guess that’s how he has so many 5 stars. Very disappointing.

Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry the stay didn't meet your expectations. The mammoth image in the listing was an AI illustration reflecting the cave theme and has been removed. Access to the property is through the village of Puerto Nuevo near Rivas, a quiet rural community. Our pool is a natural river pool with steps and railings, so water levels vary by season. We are glad you enjoyed the fish and shrimp prepared for the seafood dinner, though we are sorry it did not feel like good value. Power outages occasionally occur in Costa Rica and usually last minutes to a few hours. Massages were scheduled in advance and were non-refundable when cancelled on short notice. During the stay our interactions felt positive, so the review was a surprise. Several bottles of house wine were consumed but not included in the final payment. We apologize if the voice note referencing a five-star review came across the wrong way. Thankfully, this has not been the experience of most of our guests
What can we say but WOW! If you are considering booking this place, do not hesitate! Truly a once in a lifetime experience here; the craftsmanship and artistry are beyond beautiful. Robert is a fantastic host and you will not be disappointed. On top of everything the view is to die for and the beds are extremely comfortable too.

We had an amazing stay at Robert’s incredible, unique home. Completely private, quiet and comfortable but close to small towns and beautiful hikes. Robert and Luba were two of the best hosts we ever stayed with. He met us with a bottle of wine, left us delicious spaghetti for our first night and checked in occasionally to see if we needed anything. We ordered the breakfast and fruit basket which made it easy to enjoy mornings at the house and my wife scheduled what she said was the best massage she’s ever had overlooking the river on our last morning. 100% happy with our stay.

Wow, just Wow!!! Robert’s house was truly the most unique home that we’ve stayed in! We only spent 1 night but if we are ever back in the area we would book for many more days. The property and house are amazing. I kept FaceTiming family and friends at home to give them a tour as words really do not describe how special this home is. The river deck and private swimming hole was incredible. The kitchen was complete with everything you would need. On top of that, they also had home cooked meals available to buy if you didn’t feel like cooking or going out to eat. The bed, linens were super comfortable with a beautiful breeze coming in from the river. The hot tub in the home was so like the cherry on top! Thank you Robert for opening your home for others to experience and enjoy. Robert and Luba go the extra mile to make it memorable. We’ll never forget it!

The place was very special and an extremely great architecture. Since I am a somewhat larger woman (174), I could not stand in one bedroom, but it still had a normal ceiling-high room. Upon arrival, the kitchen was not completely clean, but okay for us. Since we were traveling in CR for 3 weeks, we had comparisons, this place was by far the most expensive, but there are similar ones in CR that were only a fraction of the amount. However, it is and remains something super special and I highly recommend this place, the Jacutzy was great after many tours and the outdoor pool was also awesome. The seat up by the river is also really something unique! We would always come back to this place, it embodies very much the "Pura Vida en CR" ♥️ Thank you for everything🙏♥️

Thank you for your kind comments. The cave is in the jungle so we have it sprayed for bugs once a year. That is why you might of seen something. But it is perfect again.
We absolutely loved our night at Roca Verde Retreat! Super unique place to stay, beautiful design and property. The gazebo over the river was so wonderful, the indoor jacuzzi my kids absolutely loved, and lots of attention to details! Big kitchen, we didn’t really utilize since we only stayed a night but would be really great for home meals and grill. Highly recommend! Very cool more rural area, super quiet, and peaceful and felt very safe. Loved walking around the neighborhood and the hanging bridge.
