Scott and Tatiana were very kind and helpful upon our arrival and departure. The house is as shown in the pictures. There is also a laundry room with a washer and dryer. They also provided chairs for going to the beach! A 4x4 is recommended to get there; the road is a bit bumpy, especially in the last section. Plus: if you get up early in the morning (in early July we woke up at 5:30/6), you are practically guaranteed to see one or more toucans in the trees, scarlet macaws, and hear howler monkeys in the distance. Plus, the sunrise and sunset with ocean views are amazing!

You will never know you are right in the middle of town, just off the main road. The accommodations are tucked away on a quiet road, with jungle like growth all around the beautiful property all of which have incredible sunset ocean views. The toucans come and visit and a wide variety of beautiful birds and even saw a beautiful pair of parrots. The accommodations are high end, super clean and the hosts are very kind and gracious. Really can't say enough good things about this place - so book right away, because this place feels like you are in the jungle, while being right close to everything beautiful that Uvita has to offer.

What a beautiful property! In the mountains, yet a short walk down to the main town center of Uvita. Close to grocery stores, farmers market, the bank and plenty of restaurants. Watch Beautiful sunsets over the ocean from the balcony, and plenty of exotic birds. Scott Is very informative and can point you in the right direction if you’re looking for things to do in the area. Would happily stay here again.

Very nice house, large, clean and with a nice outdoor balcony. Well-equipped kitchen and possibility to use washing machine and dryer. The road to get there was very bumpy. If it rains, it is difficult to access with poorly equipped cars (due to mud and poor grip).
Host Response
Please note that the property is about 250 - 300 meters up a dirt/stone road from the coastal highway. In CR, dirt/stone roads are typical - especially outside of the San Jose metro area and particularly to arrive at elevated ocean view locations. Paved mountain roads are rare. The community maintains the road with fresh grading and stones several times per year. Unlike many other elevated locations, the gradient of the road to our property is not steep and you do not need a 4x4 to arrive. When you arrived, the area has just received an unusual late December downpour and it also appears that your sedan had balding tires. We routinely receive guests in front wheel drive vehicles with no problems as past reviews will evidence that the road is not an issue. I am glad you liked the ocean view and we wish you safe travels.

Scott was very communicative and pleasant to interact with. Seems that some guests don't understand what it means to be staying in Costa Rica; power outages are normal and don't last that long, but if you're set on sitting and watching TV all day, you might be disappointed, but you also might be pleasantly surprised at the vibrant natural world around you when you can't watch TV. Hopefully you can embrace living in the jungle and all that that comes with while you're here. The place doesn't disappoint. It's pretty quiet and very private. There are no drapes on the large sliding doors but no one is walking around on your porch, so it's no big deal. Kitchen is well stocked and had glasslock containers which i really appreciated for making my own meals to take with me for the day. Big bonus for me were the cute little bats that roost in the breezeway during the day outside the kitchen window. Would definitely stay again!
Host Response
Thank you Zack for the nice review and for the words of wisdom for those traveling to Costa Rica. I am glad you liked our bat family! They can put on quite a show as they leave from behind the house at dusk and roam the jungle. I hope you come back to see the frequent toucan visitors some day as well. It was a pleasure hosting you. This cosita has a beautiful view and is a short drive to many food places and the beach. The host who was staying next door was accommodating with our late check-in and was kind when we met in person. Unfortunately there were a few issues. There was noticeable pet hair in the unit and the floors didn’t seem thoroughly cleaned. A cleaning service was arranged later, though it interrupted part of our day. There was also a neighbor’s dog barking very early in the morning. Additionally the host entered the balcony without prior notice, which felt like a bit of a disregard for privacy, especially since the unit lacks privacy curtains. At $120 a night, we didn’t expect these disruptions. While the price is reasonable for the area, the overall experience didn’t fully meet expectations. Still, the view is lovely, and the host was warm and welcoming.

just fantastic this place. - Very comfortable and large bed - Air conditioning (which you definitely need) - Beautiful terrace with beautiful views of the countryside - Easy check-in and check-out - A car is an advantage as the property is located on a hill - only 2 minutes by car from the center - We were allowed to wash and use the dryer for free - We were also allowed to borrow camping chairs, umbrella and cooler. We were made to feel very welcome! Thank you for this unforgettable time!
Host Response
Thank you Ariane for staying with us and I am glad you had a nice time. I hope you had many toucans in the trees in front of you. Safe travels and please come back any time
