2BR Bungalow in Granada

Claudia

OK, 4 months ago

The place has a lot of potential but needs improvement. It’s a beautiful home. No hot water in the home but it was ok for us. The pool was dirty and was not able to use it for most of our stay. There was rat droppings and had to pay for trash but wasn’t much. The place needs to be cleaned more.

Host Response

Claudia communicated at least daily with the property manager and yet none of these concerns were ever expressed. To my knowledge the only problem with the pool was when a hanging plant dropped and parts of the pot and plant landed in the pool. This was addressed immediately. As for the "rat droppings" that is from bats, which we have no control over. If the housekeeper didn't come it was because you didn't want anyone there if you weren't there. Sorry, you didn't enjoy your month long stay.

We spent one week here. It was a lovely space and a great location. Close to the market, the sites, and very walkable. The courtyard with the pool was nice as well. The cleaning lady Martina was wonderful to chat with and super helpful. Areas for improvement could be the couch in the living room (wasn’t that comfortable) and both of the shower heads sprayed out from the side making a proper shower a bit tricky and messy. But overall we really enjoyed our stay.

WARNING. The owner of this house is unprofessional and not understanding. My mother in law brought over pet birds in a cage for the children. The maid snitched on us so Airbnb said we were in violation. We apologized and said it won’t happen again. That was on July 27th and I thought that was the end of it. the owner waited until August 22 to kick us out. The owner lied to Airbnb that we violated more rules. However she submitted the same violation as of the July 27th incident. the owner wanted us out the same day without warning. I told the owner I have 3 kids & in a different country & that she can’t just kick us out on the same day without notice. The owners response was “I can and I will”. I have text messages and videos to support everything . Nothing works in the house, tv, internet, A/C and there’s mice poop everywhere. Most important, you’ll have no privacy as she requires the maid there 4 hrs daily

Host Response

It is so convenient for you to forget about the 2 extra guests and dog. The fact that every time you reported a problem it turned out to be user error. You treated every one as beneath you and servants. Casa Anita is and always has been, as our previous reviews show, perfect. The clients that left the day you arrived gave 5 stars, that should say something about you. The actual warning should be to homeowners who do not want their staff, home, belongings, and self to be disrespected or broken, damaged or missing.

Casa Anita's was gorgeous. Pictures were exactly as described. Location was close walking distance to the market, and the main square. If you are going for a quiet stay this is not your place. It's exceptionally noisy, from 5:00am when the market opens, until 10:00 pm. Yelling on the street constantly, cars honking. This casa is operated by a property service that did not meet us. We were let in my the maid. She cleaned Mon-Fri during the time you want to be private in the pool. Electricity was paid by me for the week, however we had to only trust that the meter was read correctly. We were charged $73.80 for 8 days, and we used no air-conditioning as it makes me Ill. The maid blamed us for spilling rum on pillow cases, we were apologized to but that's where the trust ended, including the electricity usage. The place has mice, there were fresh droppings everyday. Rude neighbors, construction on their roof that started at 5:00am. Which impeded our privacy,as they could see into our casa

Host Response

Hi Corey. I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay. Several things I must refute. First , it is stated that electricity in the country is very expensive and that is beyond our control. Second the droppings are from bats, not mice, and there is no way to stop that without closing in the house. It is also stated that it is busy street and the people or Nicaragua are hard working and get started early. Perhaps you should not go to a country that you are not familiar with and expect things to be whatever you are used to. As for the sheets, I don't know what happened but my housekeeper does not usually make accusations without a reason.
