We stayed at Casa Fortuna for 4 nights and felt completely at home. The house was spacious, giving our family of four plenty of space and privacy. We had an amazing time in La Fortuna and would highly recommend this place to anyone who loves nature and values a private stay. The large pool was a huge bonus for us—there was nothing better than unwinding in the water after a day full of adventure! Christina, thank you so much for all your help and quick responses. Thanks again for a fantastic stay!
The La Fortuna Villa is the real thing for people that want a comfortable and spacious place in nature. It provides all the basics without being pretentious. We birded in the yard, swam in the pristine pool, and enjoyed socializing in the second story “observatory”.
The location of the home is fantastic. We were lucky enough to see the volcano to one day.!! the house met our needs.
This was paradise, the birds and volcano view was amazing. The coordination of activities was also fantastic
Beautiful spot right outside of town. Near to activities in the area. We loved the backyard and pool, and we were able to see quite a lot of wildlife. We had some trouble with locating the house, getting proper codes/keys, and the alarm system. The backdoor locking system didn't function, so we kept getting locked out. Owners were responsive and helpful though!
This house has an amazing view of the Arenal Volcano and beautiful greenery all around the property! The only cons are that the alarm system was a bit tricky to figure out, towels were stained & the kitchen lacked basic essentials such as salt/sugar. We communicated about the towels, and fresh towels were provided the following morning which was great!
Our fave things were the location- close enough to town to walk or a quick drive but far enough it was quiet, peaceful and the property was secure and safe. The pool was beautiful, the house had lots of space for the six of us and the AC in bedrooms was great at night. The house is older and could use some minor repairs but there was nothing that impacted our enjoyment and the host was always helpful if there was an issue. We loved the authentic feel of this place and hope whoever stays next says hi to the little black kitty who visited nightly and perhaps sneaks into the laundry room to find a cosy place to sleep. ❤️
Lovely home with a great pool. Very walkable to downtown and the rope swing. House was comfortable
This was our 2nd time staying here! This time, my husband and I brought our kids so we could share our love for this place with them. The home is clean and spacious, yet cozy enough to bring the family together. We spent our days doing activities offered around town, then cooled off in the pool and hung out in the yard together before heading to dinner. There are so many places to eat close by that are within walking distance if you do not rent a car. If you decide to rent a car however, the property is about a 15 minute walk to Alamo Rental Car downtown. Also around there you’ll find tons more places to eat, grocery markets, and gift shops, etc. Christine (co-host) is very kind and helpful and responsive. She can help you book anything you can think of! We hope to come back a 3rd time someday! Pura Vida!
Lovely home, well equipped and just as described. The owner is super-responsive about everything. The ambiance of the house and property fits the area very well.
The Villa lived up to our expectations. The property was private, secure and lovely. We spent our mornings bird watching while sipping coffee. Location was walkable to some great restaurants and very convenient to the swing and adventures. Huge amount of space for a family of four. The pool is well maintained and perfect for a dip after a long day of exploring.
The villa is in a beautiful landscaped yard with a view of the volcano. The house is a typical Costa Rican type rental. The host was very responsive whenever we had questions. The living room furniture is not very comfortable. The upstairs furniture doesn't make into a comfortable bed. We did enjoy our time at the villa!
The grounds of this home are beautiful and private, with many flowering trees, plants and shrubs, tonnes of birds and on a clear day a stunning view of the volcano. Our family of 6 had lots of space to gather or be apart- with two indoor common areas, and a large outdoor table under shelter. The bedrooms and one common tv area have air conditioning units, and the rest of the house does not have a/c, but there are some fans. Christina their property manager was exceptional- she was very responsive and gave many recommendations. Overall we had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay here- the property was beautiful.
