This home had everything we needed for a great week in Costa Rica. The home was comfortable, spacious, clean and had great amenities. We came with another couple and having the Casa and Casita gave everyone their own space. We enjoyed hours in the pool after beach time each day and in the evening. We loved hearing and seeing all the birds early in the morning from the upper porch, including the hawks nest nearby. We made friends with the local cat and iguanas. This is a very walkable distance from the main business area of tamarindo, which is good because parking down there is a challenge. We loved getting coffee and breakfast at Pandeli, and lunch at the hotel next door. The beach is very close and everything you could need is provided (towels, chairs, surf boards. We didnt have much luck getting the internet to work, but didn't really need it. Hosts provided housekeeping every other day, and a guide book with a lot of information. We hope to come back!

Casa de Las Olas was a highlight of our entire vacation. Our group had 2 grandparents (mid-60s), 2 kids (7&9) my husband and myself (mid-30s) and the space worked perfectly for our group. The backyard is a dream. The pool was much bigger than I expected from the photos. All 6 of us could comfortably lounge in it and my kids swam in the pool constantly whether we were taking a little break midday or staying up to play games under the veranda in the evening. The housekeeper Irania was really sweet and did our laundry for us (with a half day turnaround!). The property manager Willy was very responsive, fixed a faulty air conditioner right away, and helpful with recommendations for surfing lessons, restaurants, golf cart rentals etc. 10 min walk to downtown Tam, golf cart was our preference. Home was well air conditioned, backyard & pool was our favorite and most used area.

Truly 100/10. The photos and description do not do this place justice. The backyard is beautiful and private, while the front door leads you directly down to the most perfect part of the beach (quiet but still close to the action). There are multiple lounge areas. The gardens surrounding the house are incredible. On top of that, the entire team was friendly and helpful. We suffered with some user error getting used to the locks and keys, but after rereading the guest book and some practice, we got the hang of it. Couldn’t possibly recommend this place more and would definitely come back if given the chance.

What an amazing place! Great for our 4 teens and 2 parents. Super short walk to the most peaceful and beautiful part of the beach. Amazing amenities. Awesome pool hangout areas. We hope to return!

clean, well equipped home. very clear instructions and thoughtful provisions with bikes, beach towels, boogie boards and a lot more. walkable to town (3 minutes to good bakery/coffee, 10 minutes to center) and beach access right across the street. yet, off the main road so very quiet. lush gardens made it feel secluded. very responsive.

The place was fantastic!! Location was steps the beach and close to town. The house and casitas were beautiful and the back yard a slice of Paradise!! Next time I head to Tamarindo, I know where I’m staying….

The property is AMAZING and Rik thought of everything!! There were three couples for 8 days and not a day went by without us commenting about how incredible the house and property is. There is plenty of room and the yard is just gorgeous. We hung out in the pool so much and grilled fresh fish every night in the outdoor kitchen. Everything is so organized and labeled and so much thought put into all the amenities - outside dishes, spare propane, Bose blue tooth speakers (inside and out), three outdoor showers, outdoor bathroom, French press for coffee. AND only a TWO minute walk to the most incredible beach! We definitely hope to visit again!!

My family of 4 met up with other family to spend the holidays in Costa Rica. The place was the perfect place for us all. Best decision we ever made booking this house. Would definitely recommend and will if we ever find ourselves back in CR, we will book dates only when this place is available!

Had a group of 6 friends stay for a week and everyone just loved the place. Great location, beautiful house and gardens, pool was perfect. House and Casita had all the amenities we could ask for-even little things like Tupperware which you never think of but always need. Rik was very communicative and informative and his contacts in town helped make our stay/travel days stress free. Would definitely recommend.

A meticulously designed surf/beach house that has it all. It felt like a home away from home, not a rental. There is nothing they have not thought of, fresh fruit upon arrival..blender, beach and shower towels! We have stayed at places all over the world, Rick's house is for the slow traveling conisour who needs only the essentials for the beach pre and post surf. hot outdoor showers are a luxury but not here! The landscaping and gardens provided hummingbird viewing opportunities as well as plenty of shade.. the perfect hideaway next to beach and town

The best location! Beautiful home surrounded by nature! The outdoor showers were the best ! I loved every minute of every day! Rik is super responsive and I will definitely be coming back!

Rik is by far the best host we have ever had. He goes above and beyond to provide the best experience, fresh fruit and flowers, a wonderful staff, a very helpful guidebook, and he is very friendly and quick to respond to any questions. We loved the surfer vibes, all of the beautiful tile, the hammocks and of course the amazing outside showers. The gardens and pool are pristine. We saw lots of wildlife at the property. Monkeys every morning. Raccoons, possums and even a cute baby skunk at night. Praying mantis, lots of various lizards, birds and butterflies. Thank you!

Just wow! Could not possibly love the Casita, location, or Rik and Susan more! The Casita had all amenities to make our stay comfortable, bikes and toys for the beach, a beautiful pool and garden, and was less than a minute to the quieter side of Tamarindo Beach. Rik and Susan were so kind and so helpful, we left feeling they were friends instead of hosts. We will be back!

It was so great to be back here this year and celebrate the start of a new year here! So great to meet Rik and Susan this time, super friendly and welcoming! Looking forward to coming back again! Til next time! Pura Vida!

So so glad we stayed here. The location is absolutely perfect! Walk to the beach with the surfboards downstairs, or easily walk or ride bikes into town for food and drink. The Casita itself is so comfortable and clean, and the surrounding garden and pool area are beautiful. We really enjoyed watching the iguanas who live in the tree every morning. Rik and Susan, the residents of the main house are seriously cool. They are so welcoming and helpful. They will ensure you have everything you need! Don’t hesitate to book!!
