This house was perfect and the property manager was quick to respond when we had any questions. We will be back!
Chosun’s place was perfect for our family. The home was super comfortable and had lots of space for each of our teens to have their own room. We especially loved the outdoor space and pool (and the morning and evening chorus of howler monkeys!) There was an issue with the upstairs AC when we checked it, but the local property manager took care of it right away. The home is located a few short minutes from Sámara but felt super private. We highly recommend this home!
We had a wonderful time at Casa Morpho. The pool was beautiful and refreshing, and watching the 20+ howler monkeys and their babies feed from the mango trees as we swam was our favorite. The home was spacious and the primary suite upstairs was relaxing, though we did wish there were chairs provided for the balcony. The bedrooms stayed cool with air conditioning units in each one. The living room and kitchen do not have air conditioning, but there is a fan provided to pull air from the bedrooms, and it cooled those areas off nicely. It was unfortunately too hot during our stay to enjoy opening up the large living room doors though. Being in Costa Rica, there are a lot of bugs and insects, and they don’t always stay outside, which was a struggle for one of our kids. As for the area, we highly recommend that you enjoy a meal at Frog, Bahai, and Gusto Beach Pizza! All have great gluten-free options and we may have eaten pizza at Gusto Beach three times!
Spacious, modern house, great pool and the local beaches around Samara are lovely but the wildlife the Howler monkeys and Coati’s that frequented the garden were the real stars of the stay!
An ideal place to rest with the family, in a private and safe setting. Close to all amenities (restaurants, cafes, banks). I recommend it!
We had a great stay. Really enjoyed the pool and the nature all around, the monkeys hanging out on the mango trees as we swam was a highlight!
House in a beautiful natural setting just a 3-minute drive from downtown Samara. Very spacious, there were 5 of us and everyone had their independence. Very nice swimming pool (slippery tiles, be careful) in the middle of nature. And the highlight of the show are the animals of the surroundings: howler monkeys in large numbers in the trees of the garden are a magical sight, but also many insects such as crickets or large grasshoppers, not to mention lizards! In short, an exceptional setting to which we will gladly return.
Great stay! We loved the privacy and the monkeys in the backyard! Great stay and still within 5 minutes of the beach and town. Will definitely be back next time we are in Costa Rica!
The property was great and the host and staff were very responsive. The one concern was the pool was not ready for us to use right away.
We just had the most lovely five nights stay at Casa Morpho. The place is super comfortable, modern, peaceful, and private. The beds were super comfortable and the kitchen was well- provisioned. The location is ideal for exploring Samara surrounding area. Highly recommend! Thanks so much for our memorable family vacation!
After a communication change I wasn’t expecting and a short gap before resolving, everything was smooth sailing. It’s an incredible peaceful site, clean and comfortable with every amenity you could want. We had the best time here and would highly recommend to anyone wanting close access to the beaches but a bit of privacy and sense of being set back from the tourist strip. Easy checkout and overall loved everything about it.
Overall, we had a fabulous stay at Chosun's place! We really enjoyed the AC, gorgeous surroundings, and howler monkeys! The beds were really comfortable. The layout of the place was also great since our kids had their own wing. A couple things to note if you visit in the dry (high) season: The well pump in our neighborhood was out when we arrived, so we were temporarily out of water. Ridley, the property manager, was exceptionally responsive and kind, going above and beyond to make sure we had water delivered when we needed it. Just be mindful of your water use, as it's a precious resource! It was also windy, which meant there was a *lot* of debris to clean out of the pool each day. A net is provided. You'll need to empty the filter too. We only wound up using the pool twice. Last, the path down to the stream was very overgrown, and the stream was almost dry. None of these things really impacted our stay. I'd book this place again just based on Ridley's attentiveness alone!
We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Morpho. Extremely private, quiet, and beautiful. Loved being immersed in the jungle, cooling down in the pool, and also being a quick drive away from the town (3 mins). Perfect for our toddler (3 year old), fun for our one year old but had to be careful as the floors are hard tile, slippery surfaces, etc. We saw monkeys, birds, tons of insects, scorpions, spiders, butterflies, coatis, etc. Very entertaining and new surprises everyday. Including army of ants who clean the home (who would’ve guessed!). A true Guanacaste jungle environment! The house felt large and very comfortable for 6 people. Perfect for two families. Highly recommend having a vehicle in this area. Only complaint on our end was the amenities listed were not all available during our stay or available upon arrival. The hosts were very responsive and promptly arranged to our needs but I recommend triple checking with them prior to arrival. Tico time is a real thing. Gracias! Pura Vida!
Beautiful house, very well equipped and very comfortable. Very peaceful environment.
Large house and property in a secluded, safe neighborhood about a five minute drive from Samara (not walkable, but parking is easy). We had a peaceful stay with 4 adults and 2 young children. The house was workable with the kids, but the back patio and pool deck were very slippery when wet, which meant constant vigilance to avoid slips and falls with the kids. The air conditioning in the bedrooms was more than adequate but the main room remains quite warm. The home decor and lighting leave something to be desired, but the natural beauty and wildlife of the property make up for that.
Host Response
Hi Paul! Thank you for sharing your experience! I’m very happy you were all able to enjoy your stay and appreciate the incredible natural surroundings on the property. Yes, the pool deck can be slippery when wet, so caution is always advised, especially with little ones! Your family is welcome any time! Pura Vida- Chosun
