This one is a hard one to review. We are a family of 6 and the home was great. Kids jumped into the pool immediately when we arrived and we felt right at home. The home was as described in the listing (although we had to ask for the laundry room code as it was not originally provided at check in). The biggest hiccup - our bedroom got broken into through a faulty lock on a sliding glass door while Grandma was home alone, and cash was stolen from us, despite being in a safe and gated complex with an armed guard. The home backs onto a creek after all. What is worth noting though, is the immediate action and care that Juan took to remedy the situation. New and more secure locks installed the next day, motion lights and security cameras are also all set up now and he’s installing a safe. A really crappy situation happened for us, that should never happen again at this home for future guests. Without the break-in, 5 stars. Without Juan’s action, 1 star.

We are truly sorry that this happened during your stay. In more than three years of hosting, this was the first security incident we have ever experienced, and we took it very seriously. Within 24 hours we upgraded the locks, installed additional motion lights and security cameras, and will add a safe in each room to further enhance the property's security. Our goal is to ensure that our guests feel safe and comfortable, and we remain committed to continuously improving. Great house, wonderful stay! Just far enough from the center, while still being very close! Quiet and safe district.

House was quiet and had a safe location with great views of the volcano from the pool! Air conditioning worked great and bathrooms had great water pressure. House is adequately stocked but not overly comfortable-no decorations, no excess anything. But we mostly just slept there so it was fine for that and great for day trips around La Fortuna.
Aside from the initial mixup accessing the property our stay was awesome! Place was easy to find and facilities including pool were great! Really appreciate air conditioning in the main living area which enabled the group to socialize late into the evening. Note a number of places only have AC in bedrooms. Showers were outstanding with plenty of hot water. Overall a great stay!!
We had a great stay in La Fortuna. The place was very comfortable and well set up for a family. The pool was a big hit with the kids, and the beds were very comfy after long days exploring. The location was also excellent—just a quick drive to the main area of town, making it easy to get to restaurants and activities. The hosts were very responsive and easy to communicate with throughout our stay. We’d definitely recommend this spot to anyone visiting La Fortuna.
Nice house. Great location. Hosts were responsive and knowledgeable. Not well suited for big cooking as the stove is very slow and the kitchen is small. Not a lot of homey touches but the location can’t be beat. The neighborhood is safe with round the clock security. Good WiFi.
Very close to La Fortuna downtown! Great option if you are traveling with kids, AC and laundry! Flexible host and clean property!
