Our first trip to Costa Rica was unforgettable. Steven was a fantastic host, offering helpful recommendations that made our stay seamless. The property’s grandeur is striking—nestled in the jungle, we enjoyed stunning views and relaxing days by the cool pool. There’s plenty of outdoor seating for reading or napping, and the interior is spacious and beautifully designed. Large glass doors blend indoor comfort with nature, and the workout area is a bonus. The kitchen and outdoor grill were perfect for family meals, while the firepit provided a cozy spot after sunset. The best entertainment however, is provided by nature: Howler monkeys, stunning tropical birds, and if you are lucky enough, most days will draw to a close with some of the most incredible sunsets we have ever seen; best viewed across the pool, from the same sun lounger where we often started the day.

We had a wonderful stay. What an epic property. Great location about 25 minutes from Nosara ,right next to possibly one of the nicest beaches I’ve ever seen. The house was unbelievable and luxury in every way. 180° ocean view. Once again, can’t say enough about this place I highly recommend, you will not be disappointed. Pura Vida.

The house was beautiful and spacious. The pool is amazing and overlooks jungle and ocean. You can hear the ocean from one of the upstairs bedrooms. It’s very secluded and the road to the house was pretty rough, especially after the rain. A 4x4 is a must. There are a few beach areas and restaurants nearby but it’s about 30 minutes to the closest main area - Nosara - with restaurants, stores and activities - over rough roads. If you want activities it may be better to stay closer to nosara or tamarindo. If you want a beautiful, peaceful stay in a great house with friends or family Damian’s house is perfect. Steven was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. Lots of good ideas for restaurants and activities.

Remarkable, immaculately designed and kept luxury villa. A little bit off the beaten path. Nearest airport being Liberia (LIR), 2 hrs away and you’ll need a 4x4 to get there. Having said that, this place is absolutely a hidden gem you won’t want to leave in a hurry. Note: it is a remarkably large property and we could easily have fit another family of 5 (alongside us) and not seen each other for days. Hosts were always responsive and communicative and made our stay memorable and easy.

What an amazing place. The nicest Airbnb we've ever stayed at. Super luxe and beautiful, peaceful but still just a 9 minute drive to San Guanillo for beaches, restaurants, etc. Only 30 minutes to Nosara's beaches too. We stayed here with another family and their kids and loved it. So much fun by the beautiful pool, watching amazing sunsets each night and enjoying the beautiful house. Steven, the property manager was so attentive, suggesting great restaurants and activities and getting back to us right away. He helped us find a chef to cook a few dinners for us while we were there too. 100% recommend and 100% will stay here again when we return to Costa Rica. Tuanis!

The Rio was the perfect place to stay. The pictures don’t do it justice and the pictures are amazing. We had the best week with our family of 4 and another couple. The views were spectacular, the amenities were great, and Stephen was a super responsive host. We had a chef come cook one night and the food was so delicious. We would totally recommend Ash @luxecoastaldiningcr! I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to enjoy a week of secluded luxury in Costa Rica.

It’s rare to find a property that’s more beautiful in real life than the pictures, but The Rio was exactly that! The house is incredibly spacious both inside and out, well-appointed, and simply beautiful. It felt like we were staying at a resort with details such as monogrammed robes & towels and the provided cleaning services. Steven, the host, was very responsive to anything we needed and gave great recommendations for restaurants, grocery, and other local spots to check out. We spent just over 4 weeks at The Rio and are sad to be home. I think we could have stayed there forever without looking back! I’m jealous of whoever is there next. Don’t hesitate booking The Rio!

“The Rio” Villa was fantastic: luxurious, spacious, with a refreshing pool and surrounded by the beauty of nature. You can hear birds chirping, howler monkeys and and see turkey vultures stopping by the pool to drink water. Don’t be bothered by the roads. Slow down and listen to good music. Overall, our stay was wonderful in every way!

This place is amazing. Both of the master suites are large and beautiful, with awesome showers and views. The house is so much more than the photos show. The view of the ocean is great, the pool was perfect. The maid came every three days and cleaned to perfection. Steven was incredibly responsive to anything we needed. We were very late getting there so he made sure there were snacks and drinks awaiting us when we arrived. We tried to get out of bed every morning at sunrise to listen to the chorus of birds and howler monkeys each morning. The pool was always exceptionally clean, and the temperature was perfect. There were loads of beach towels and a huge selection of chairs, couches, and lounges with places to sit and enjoy the pool and view any time of the day. The kitchen was stocked with every possible appliance and utensil. There were enough dishes and glassware for a large party. We would have stayed another week if it wasn't already booked.

Fabulous place. It is a little remote; at the time we were there was the only habitable house in the subdivision. But this gives it privacy and it is surrounded by jungle, so we had many animals and birds we could see from the house. Home is very large and high end; the outdoor space in particular is awesome - lots of shaded seating, but sunny options and a huge pool. This part of Costa Rica is not very developed; the roads are rough with top speeds of 40 km/hr but potholes that slow you to near zero. Also a few minor river crossings when we were there. All easily handled by our 4x4 Fortuner, and we saw many doing the same with lesser SUVs. Steven was an excellent host with clear instructions and made sure our visit was comfortable. He was very easy to reach and took care of a few minor issues quickly. The basement has two small beds in one room and a king in the other. You need to go outside to get from this area to the main house, so may not be ideal for smaller children.
