A lovely house to be with your family! We really liked it. I loved that it had board games and several options for spending time together 🫰🏼😁 The house is very spacious, clean and beautiful. It has a phenomenal view from the garden 🪴

Absolutely phenomenal view of the lake and mountains with so many rolling hills and pastures! We also saw a flock of parrots on the street just past the house and 10+ toucans in the trees on route 142 right before dusk. The home is clean, spacious and there is lots to do even if you are stuck inside due to rain. They also have a super cute children's area with toys and plenty of board games. We only stayed one night on our way back from La Fortuna but loved that it's an easy 1.5 hour drive to Liberia Airport. The home was incredible and if we had more time we would've loved exploring the area. Also loved the recommendations for restaurants. Macadamia Cafe was closed so we ended up at Equus and it was some of the best smoked bbq we ever had. Home had everything we needed and hosts were very responsive and helpful. We would 100% book here again for longer to enjoy the pool also.

Great place and host!

We had a great stay! Our group of 10 had plenty of space, so nobody needed to use the sleeper sofa. The kitchen is well-stocked, the beds are comfortable, and the views are stunning. We even liked looking at the numerous wind turbines nearby. Note that the location can be very windy (hence the wind turbines) and rainy, but the house is stocked with lots of board and card games to entertain guests of all ages. Research the drive to desired attractions so that everyone can have realistic expectations. In the town of Tilaran we found everything we needed, including a doctor and a pharmacy.

We thoroughly enjoyed our quick stay here. Like others, we needed a place to help break up the drive. We expected something very basic, but this home worked out perfectly and provided a great respite from the hustle and bustle. The view is fantastic and the location very peaceful. The owners were gracious and communicated quickly. I've found many Airbnb's photograph well but leave you a bit disappointed when you arrive. Not the case here - everything is very clean and well designed. You can tell they take much pride in the home. I would absolutely stay here again.

Great place and was the perfect first night stop for our family. We flew into LIR and were headed for a few stops and used this as a nice place to just land for our first night. Had an amazing view of the lake, volcano, nice little pool and putting greens turned out to be a lot more fun than we even expected. Hosts were super about providing some restaurant recommendations for us and very responsive!

This place was amazing! One of my favorite places I have ever stayed. I halfway thought about quitting my job and moving! To be clear, this place is definitely remote. We arrived after dark and it was a little difficult to navigate. Other than that, it was fantastic. We loved being out in the country and seeing cows all around. Only wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy more of what the area has to offer. Thank you for a lovely stay!

We had such a great time at Mateo & Joanitas place. So beautiful and we loved the winds. We had 9 children with us and they loved it and did not want to leave! Mateo & Joanita have really thought about how to make guests feel welcome. There were 4 adults and all said they slept great. This is a great stay and we are so glad to choose this place.

Incredible view and very responsive owners. We only stayed 1 night so didn't use the pool, but it was well-maintained and very clean.
