La Diosa del Sol is beautiful and relaxing. Adrienne and Liz are friendly and responsive, and Molly the dog is lovely. We enjoyed our time at the house.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The caretaker, Steven was very responsive and helpful. He went out of his way to take us to the grocery, a kayak tour, and arrange for transportation so we could enjoy a nearby resort. The property manager, Liz, was very helpful and gave us good advice on things to do. We were especially pleased with how well the kitchen was set with pots, pans and appliances. The pool was the star of the show and we spent many hours lounging and taking a dip. The house dogs, Molly and Maya greeted us every morning and are very sweet. It is a 30 minute drive from the house to a grocery, so it is important that one take this into consideration, and stock up when coming from the airport. Thank you for sharing your house with us.

Host Response

We are so delighted that you enjoyed your stay at La Diosa and that Liz and Steven were so helpful. The pool and the kitchen really are wonderful, I agree! Think of La Diosa as your home away from home on this beautiful island and we hope to see you again soon!

Definitely recommend if you are looking for a quiet place to gather in a beautiful country! Great kayaking off the dock… and mangroves and reef to explore. Host was proactively communicative, along with the onsite manager, Liz. Reached out early to find out how they could help make a great trip for us. Steven, who lives onsite, was always responsive. When one person in our party needed medical attention, Steven identified a doctor for us, drove with us to the appointment, and helped translate at the appointment and the pharmacy. He went above and beyond, and that’s something you can’t put a price tag on. Forever grateful.

The property is amazing! We will definitely be returning! So much better than staying in a resort! The house itself is uniquely wonderful. It’s really built around the outdoor spaces - every room opens to covered patios and walkways. There are so many different spots to sit and enjoy the ocean and breezes! The pool is perfect. The seating area around it is huge - everyone in the family was happy either in the pool or hanging beside it enjoying the view and company (flowers and hummingbirds everywhere). Stephen is the property caretaker and your personal guide when you need him. He was very helpful in finding and booking our excursions! If you want him to spend the day out with you, he’s on board. He took us to the better beaches and watched our things in the shade as we wondered and played. Rosa (Stephen’s aunt) is available to hire for cooking. We had her cook 5 nights for us and the food was amazing. You buy groceries and she cooks for $50 a night. We also had more than enough leftovers for lunches and snacks. We went fishing one day and she made some of the tuna we caught - cannot say enough good things about her food! Optional - we ended up asking both of them to join us for dinners. They are so nice and is was interesting to hear all about Roatan and life on the island! Love this place! Book your stay here!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Adrienne's place. Adrienne (owner) and Liz (property manager) were incredibly helpful and responsive in answering our questions prior to our arrival and remained available throughout our stay. The house is beautiful with very nice outdoor spaces to relax and look at the ocean, reef, and tropical yard. There is a separate caretaker's house on property, and Steven was there to meet us on our arrival and show us the space. He continued to be available via What's app and in person to answer any questions we had. He took us on a kayak tour down the coast through the mangroves and along some beautiful beaches, and also arranged for a boat to take us snorkeling and towards the West End. It was very nice to have a local person happily available. Rosa cooked us dinner on our first night, and it was a feast. It also made great leftovers. I would recommend her home cooking. An accidental find was going to the South End of the island and getting a boat ride guided by Captain Alex through the fishing villages around Jonesville and Oak Ridge. What a great way to see an interesting part of Roatan history. The house is within a few blocks of a small village called Politilly Bight....small store and friendly people, but not much else. You did have to drive 20 plus minutes to the larger grocery store and almost an hour to the West End/ West Bay part of the island, but being a little remote was welcomed for this trip. No complaints, this was a great place to stay. It checked all the boxes.

Very beautiful house very comfortable very clean. Is a big house to have vacation with the whole family with a friendly friendly host . Very nice pool outside to have freshness of the water and cook in the outside gril . Rosa was excellent with our food.. We enjoyed very much the place. It’s a peaceful place.. beautiful people, and so much to do.. I recommend Rosa 100% excellent cook... already miss her cooking!!! many many thanks, we had an incredible vacation!!

Dear Karen, We were delighted to have your family stay with us at La Diosa and are so glad you had a wonderful time. We love Rosa's cooking too! Her coconut chicken is so amazing. We hope you come back soon, we would love to see you again.

Amazing home with an equally stunning view! The layout of the home provides great living spaces inside and out. It was great to lay out by the pool and watch the hummingbirds and butterflies attracted to the flowers on this beautifully maintained property. The property managers are very helpful and property dogs are incredibly friendly.

Dear Holly, We are so happy you and your family enjoyed the beauty and peacefulness of La Diosa and of Roatan so much. We hope you think of us as your home away from home and will stay with us on your next trip to this beautiful place - we would be delighted to have you as our guests again.

Fantastic home! Adrienne, Liz, and Clay are absolutely wonderful. They all helped make this vacation both very relaxing and memorable. The location is peaceful and truly a beautiful oasis. The home is large enough for a group and allows for privacy and spreading without feeling like you’re on top of each other. The local tips and communication were amazing. Have Rosa cook for you! Thank you for a great time and tremendous hospitality!

We were delighted to host you and your family and so glad you enjoyed your stay at beautiful La Diosa. We are looking forward to seeing you again!

We had a wonderful stay at La Diosa. The house was beautiful, with lovely views all around, and a nicely landscaped property. The location away from the crowds was great for us. The kitchen was very well-supplied with anything we needed for cooking. My kids loved the large pool, and the kayaks we're fun. Liz and Clay were very helpful, and we appreciated Rosa cooking for us a few times throughout our stay.

Host Response

We are so happy you enjoyed your stay with us and we look forward to hosting your family again!

We had an absolute blast at Adreinne's place. The pictures on Airbnb were stunning and the actual location did not disappoint. The amenities were great and we had such a fun time cooking great meals in the kitchen every night. We had 8 people showering right after one another after long days at the beach and never ran out of hot water. Liz met us when we arrived at the airport and helped us get groceries and recommended we go fishing and snorkeling with Captain Manderson. That was an awesome recommendation! He went above and beyond to craft an adventure we all loved. We also found a beautiful part of Camp Bay beach that we could not get enough of. At night we hung out by the pool or in the amazing living room and listened to music and hung out. There was something for everyone. We also read a lot of things about staying safe in Roatan and honestly we probably over-researched. The area is extremely quiet and safe and we never felt like our possessions were in any danger. Plus Adrienne was super helpful in providing us tips to prepare before our trip. Overall, we had absolutely no complaints and are already talking about going back!

La Diosa is a perfect retreat if you don’t want to see anyone and enjoy privacy with peace and quiet. If you have no desire to explore the west and touristy side of the island this is the place For you. A car is absolutely essential in our opinion so you can make the 20 minute journey for groceries and to explore the smaller bays dotted around the east end... although Liz, the property manager, can arrange taxies / private drivers for you if prefer. The house is beautiful and tastefully decorated and there are ample places to relax and unwind. The kitchen has all its creature comforts and as we had torrential rain every day we found cooking was a great way to while away the hours as was the countless dvds and board games. The bath and built in jacuzzi was an indulgent treat and we were bummed that we couldn’t get the most out of our adjoining huge outdoor shower as the rain never let up! The beach is across the road with access to kayaks, paddle boards etc and the views from the house are lovely. If you are arriving after dark I would recommend a taxi to pick you up and have a meal ready for you on your arrival... immigration takes an age so we were very late and the roads are not lit so guiding your way through the potholes (which are huge) is just added stress. Therefore we were SO grateful Rosa cooked us a wonderful meal of freshly grilled lobster and fish, which was plentiful and saw us through to the day after. I would set aside a good couple of hours with Liz to advise you about Roatan and what there is to see/do. She lives just around the corner and is a fountain of local knowledge and got us out of a jam when our friends ferry was cancelled. Austin is the caretaker on site and is on hand 24/7... he is a little treasure and is very willing to help in anyway. In summary I would defo come back to the house and is good value for money if you look at houses in the touristy west. Just pick a time not in the rainy season, hire a car and then you are all set to have a fantastic vacation.
