A place to rest and recharge your batteries, private, safe and with the amenities you need to have a great time. FRANK was very kind and proactive. We felt very comfortable, and we hope to return. 100% recommended.

This place is without a doubt a break from the daily noise. You experience peace, tranquility, and restorative silence for mind and body. I believe that the place should receive improvements in its infrastructure to increase its potential. Francisco is aware of these improvements, and I have no doubt that he will follow up on them. Francisco's service is the best I've received in the accommodations I've used so far: prompt, concise, and friendly.

We went for our honeymoon and it was a perfect central location in costa rica for privacy, peace, and quiet poolside! Francisco also set us up with the sweetest of women, Rebecca who cooked 4 great meals for us. We went grocery shopping with her and she also prepared the fish we caught on the day trip offshore fishing in Herradura, as well as steak and chicken meals perfectly every time! We got to see wildlife and kind faces everywhere we went. We will be back someday 🙏🏻

The listing photos for this property 100% need updating. There’s significant termite and infrastructural damage both in and outside that would’ve led us to choose a different option for our stay in San Mateo. No offense, but it's not the standard we would choose for ourselves had we known the actual state of the premises. other issues: (1) dead termite wings/bodies in the house. (2) There was a bag of fruit that was a nursery for tons of maggots in the outdoor kitchen. (3) the floor fan was not operational in the outdoor space, and the ceiling fan only ran on the slowest speed, so we were eaten alive by mosquitos while trying to have dinner in the kitchen area. (4) bad mildew & mold in the shower & toilet that was unsettling. (5) there were 3 or more loose tiles that were raised on the bedroom & entry floors. We have been to Costa Rica many times over the last 6 years and stayed in over a dozen rentals and this was easily the most misrepresented of all of them.

Hi Stuart. You are one of those people who are bad and have very bad intentions. I have never had so many lies in a review. For just one night that you stayed, you have tarnished what it took us so much effort to build. To everyone who wants to stay with you, I hope they can read this comment and take it into account, because you lied about everything. Very bad guest and very bad person.

We really enjoyed the outside living room and kitchen and of course the swimming pool. If we’re back in the area we’ll definitely stay again.

A quiet place, with all the amenities and extremely well equipped. Thank you for keeping the place tidy and clean. I would definitely stay here again. 100% recommended.

We loved the area. Very quiet and beautiful. The pictures of the bedroom and bathroom area match the pictures on the listing. The bed was very comfortable, ac worked great and it was dark for a good night’s sleep. The outdoor area could use a little TLC, but it was comfortable nonetheless. Pool was very nice and refreshing. It was about a 20 minute drive to the town of San Mateo which was charming and ate at a great restaurant called El Paso del Guacho. Labrador was the closest little town which was also quaint with a decent grocery store. We went to Carara National Park - had a great guide and saw toucans, macaws and many other birds and things we would never have seen without a guide. Don’t bother going to Waterfall Encanto during dry season as it was only a trickle. Francisco was a FANTASTIC host! Super responsive and helpful. :)

amazing place, Francisco was extremely helpful,easy to communicate with and quick response. Area is private and quiet. full kitchen so meals were easy to prepare. would definitely stay there again.
