4BR Villa

Excellent, 2 months ago

We had such an excellent, comfortable stay at this house in playa grande. All the beds were super comfortable, the grounds were very pretty, and it was a great location just a couple minutes walk to playa grande.

The overall location is good. The house was ok for it’s age. It is outdated and not as nice as it appears in the photos. The apartment should come included with the rest of the house as it wasn’t really worth the price. There is no weather stripping in the entire house which caused flooding under doors and numerous ants in the apartment. They did try to remedy the ants as there were lots of ants dying all over the apartment. The towels in the apartment need to be replaced as well as the pillows. The tv never worked in the apartment. Unfortunately, the beds are very uncomfortable. The group managing the property was fairly responsive and came to fix the bathroom right away when there was issues with sink. Overall, we still enjoyed our stay but the cost vs quality was not quite there.

Our family of 7 stayed at Casa de La Vida Grande for a week in April and hands down we could have not picked a better location or house. We loved our stay there and enjoyed both the short walk to the beach and the restaurants that were also within walking distance. We loved seeing the howler monkeys and parrots in the trees around the property and also got to see iguanas, raccoons, and lots of other birds daily while sitting on the porch. Colin was a great host and made sure he provided us with a very detailed information packet for everything to make our stay easy.

We loved our week in this area. Shawna was fantastic: she did our grocery shopping before we arrived, and she came to see us during our stay to introduce herself. The wildlife is super active near the house: monkeys, iguanas, birds! An incredible experience, but you have to empty the outside trash cans, since the animals turn them upside down during the night. The ants are very annoying in the house, especially in the kitchen and the bathroom on the ground floor. We couldn’t let our clean dishes dry because the ants were crawling all over them. On our last day, the water in the house was cut off, and we had not been notified. It was very disappointing for the last day of our vacation, when we had to take a shower (9 people). The house is old: there are several electrical outlets, but they don’t work. This house could use a little love.

This place was amazing! Very clean and I felt very comfortable there. The host and manager of the property are fast with responses and friendly! Even when I was being dumb and couldn’t figure out how to get into the laundry room, someone was over in 30 minutes to help. It is about a 10 minute walk to beach, but on the way you pass a cafe, restraunt and a small market. It is in a very nice neighborhood with a guard at the entrance, which made us feel very safe. The house was stocked with towels, toilet paper, etc. The pool was very clean. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and clean and we had an amazing stay. Recommend 10/10.

Love the location as we love being in Playa Grande! We had a large group that was accommodated! Great restaurants in the area and walkable to the beach. Communication with Shawna was good overall! We had a few snafu’s during our visit which I communicated with the owner and I think will be for the better because it is a great property. Colin went above and beyond to listen to our feedback and make things right! Because of how everything was handled, we would definitely stay at this property again!

We stayed at this sweet little villa for my birthday and the location was truly beautiful—peaceful beach, magical sunsets, and incredible wildlife all around. The local restaurants, surf school, and yoga were all wonderful! The home has lots of charm but could benefit from a few updates. Thankfully, the concierge was very responsive and helped quickly when things came up. A rental car is a must for exploring beyond the immediate area. Overall, a special spot with lots of potential.
