Two main things: the room and the family. First, the room: It's a treehouse! Just as the pictures show, it's got amazing views and it's fun to be up a bit. It is rustic. Bugs can come and go as they please, and the shower and whatnot is not luxurious. If there's a big windy rain, you can feel the whole place shake. If you are up for that kind of experience, you will love it. I spent a lot of time just laying in bed watching the clouds roll in front of the volcano and over the fields and forest outside the door, listening to the nearby river roll along. Second, the family: Henry is the one who handles the AirBnB stuff, but his father runs the bar/restaurant and various other family members are around and they are all as nice as can be. I ate pretty much every meal at the restaurant, got to know the regulars, etc. You will likely be the only tourist around as it's not a huge tourism area.

This is a very basic cabin. At this price you cannot expect any luxury however the experience is great. We felt like in a cabin in the savana. There is no hot water but the WIFI works very well and the bed is very comfortable. The breakfast is massive and delicious. You are in some sort of tree house with direct views of the Miravalles volcano, surrounded by chicken and geese in an idyllic countryside landscape. It's a great value for money if you can live without some of the city comforts.

We spend 10 beautiful days there and are really delighted with our stay. The place is nice with a wonderful view of the volcano of Miravalles. You can see many birds flying around the river, and in particular toucans. Henry and all the team are very helpful. You can eat very well at the restaurant which is located only at 20m from the cabana. We highly recommend this house for people who want to relax or who like to walk in the countryside.

Henry was a great host. Communication was uncomplicated and smooth. The place is easy to find. While the town is small, the place is on the same property as a great restaurant, where the hosts provide wonderful breakfast (included in the price!), as well as a wide range of options for lunch and dinner. The hosts are very friendly, always available, and were very accommodating, including special birthday requests on our side. The wooden cabina (on stilts - that provide covered parking space, if needed) has a great structure, is cozy and very well-maintained. The place offers a magnificent view of Miravalles volcano. While the animals can be a bit loud in the morning, you get to experience a part of the country that to us seemed to be a bit more quiet and away from the more touristic sites, with very different beautiful landscapes around, both of which we really enjoyed and which makes for a great experience. The volcanoes may be a bit further away than if you access them from Liberia. However, hiking around Rincon de la Vieja was easily doable for us on motorbikes on a day trip, and also provided for a beautiful drive. Thank you Henry and everyone for the great stay!
