Ilfido Y Arelys

I loved staying here! Ilfido and Arelys’s showed wonderful hospitality from the moment you checked in until the moment you left. They were very friendly and were able to provide great recommendations for food and things to do. They were very responsive and friendly. The room itself was very nice. The sheets were so soft and the bed was very comfortable. I had everything I needed for my stay. The view from this Airbnb was incredible as well. It was only about a 5 minute drive into town which has supermarkets, restaurants, shops, and more.

We loved staying with Ilfido and Arelys. The place is nice, comfortable and clean. The view is absolutely amazing. Arelys was attentive to our arrival the whole time, and her welcome was very warm. He shared a delicious local coffee with us, gave us recommendations for parks, and even helped us with the reservation. We took a night tour with Ilfido and it was amazing, not only because we found owls and porcupines, but also because Ilfido knows a lot about Costa Rica's flora and fauna and is very generous in sharing that knowledge.

Arelys, Ilfido, and their family made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Their treatment was very warm and they were always attentive to our stay, helping us with transportation arrangements and sharing recommendations to enjoy our visit even more. The apartment has everything you need for a comfortable, quiet and very pleasant stay. And the view is simply beautiful: from there we were able to enjoy incredible sunsets and the textures and mountainous landscapes that make Monteverde so special. Thank you, Arelys and Ilfido, for all your attentiveness and for making us feel so welcome. Definitely one of the best welcomes we had in Costa Rica. Lots of love!

Beautiful view! The space is better than the photos, centrally located, clean, and they were always available to answer our questions. The night walk with Ilfrido is recommended. He knows the place and explains it to you in detail.

Ilfido and Arelys are so nice and helpful, they really made the stay worth everything.

We stayed here two nights. It is absolutely beautiful here. The apartment is well maintained and private. We would definitely stay here again. One helpful hint. Use the GPS coordinates to find the place because the directions in Airbnb took us to a pizzeria at the bottom of the hill.

Very quiet, peaceful with beautiful views! The host family have been very accommodating with all our needs. It was very sweet to receive a basket with goodies! Thank you! I would absolutely recommend this place!

I cannot see enough about our hosts and the location. We started each day out on the balcony with our fresh Costa Rican coffee, listening to all the different birds seeing them we even spotted a capuchin in one of the trees. The cloud forest is amazing. We would have rainbows right in front of us. It is a short trip into town. The apartment was well appointed and very comfortable, especially the bed. We’re so friendly and we instantly felt welcome and like we were family. And we loved seeing kitty and bunny every day. Thank you so much for creating a home away from home. Very friendly hosts and a great location with a beautiful view!

What a great view! We loved this place! It’s close to the Monteverde city centre by car while being in a quiet and peaceful setting. We had a warm welcome from Ilfido and Arelys and they were always available to help us out with any queries. Little Bonnie and Kitty made us smile and was great to pet them. We wish we hadn’t booked our tours in advance as Ilfido also offers this service and we felt that it would have been better if we had a tour with him. Thank you so much, Pura Vida!

Arelys and Ilfido are fantastic hosts. Arelys went above and beyond to answer my questions and provide all the information I might need. She was very helpful from the first moment I contacted her until the last. Ilfido greeted us with a gift basket, which was a pleasant surprise and a wonderful gesture. Both of them are very friendly and positive people. The room was clean, we had everything we needed and there was a very calm and serene atmosphere at their property. The beautiful view, the greenery all around, the mist at dusk, all was part of a memorable stay. Most definitely recommend it!

Perfect stay. We slept so well here and felt really at ease. Arelys was great at communicating instructions and Ilfido shared fresh fruit and coffee in the morning. He also took us on a really fun night walk where we learned a lot about Costa Rica’s wonderful biodiversity and saw snakes and birds and a tarantula.
