2BR Bungalow in Placencia

Kyle

Excellent, 1 year ago

I’m not the manager, Manuela, right as I got there. She told me a lot about the property and the surrounding area. It was very peaceful and serene setting. The grounds were quite beautiful. The gardener on site has been working there for 11 years and has planted most of the flowers and trees on site. I would recommend a car if you’re staying here . That did make my getting around very easy. The golf cart or scooter work if you wanna get there a little faster and have protection from the rain say a car I hung out at restaurants/bar and met a lot of local residence. It made you feel very much at home. I would definitely go back.

Our family of 5 spent 3 nights and we all really enjoyed ourselves. Kristine came to greet us after we were settled in and had lots of suggestions about nearby attractions and places to eat. The kids played in the play area out front several times and swam in the pool. Both were great and steps from our front door. We went to the beach across the street and had it all to ourselves. The bungalow was good sized and well suited for up to 6. The kitchen had everything I needed to prepare meals. There is a great little place in Seine Bight named Vern's that we recommend. She is a local garifuna woman that serves great local dishes. This bungalow is a great value!

We found Wooden Mongoose very relaxing and quiet. The cabin was clean and comfortable for the 2 of us. The beach was just a short walk away and we spent a lot of time there, walking, swimming and reading our books. Kristine and Nick were very friendly and responsive to any requests. The location was perfect for us, restaurants and groceries were within a short drive and the town of Placencia was only a ten minute drive away. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck and watching all the birds in their well maintained gardens.

Things that we seen Bed sheets and pillows very cheap *Mold inside living room ac * Ac in bedroom on the right want work Ac on left bedroom makes noise, so you cannot sleep. Sounds like wind blowing through it or something. Kitchen knives are to cheap that you can’t cut a pineapple Washing machine makes a lot of noise like it’s broke

Host Response

Hello Justin, We would have loved to hear from you during your stay to resolve any concerns you may have had. The AC is not broken, the remote just needed new batteries. The appliances are no moldy, they just had some dust on them that has been wiped down and the knives have since been sharpened. We have used the washer and dryer since your stay and it’s working great. It seems to me that you may struggle a little with communication as when both my husband and I said hello neither one of you could muster up a response or even look in our direction. I suppose if you cannot manage to say hello it would be difficult for you to ask about an appliance. It was also interesting to us that you had no issue with leaving your nine year old son alone on the property in Central America for hours unattended while you went off into town without him almost every day of your stay, even leaving him completely alone in the dark for 4 hours one evening while you were nowhere to be found. Don’t worry, we fed him for you more than once and supervised him on the playground. Your welcome.

We stayed it Kristine’s place for a week. Huge property, like the size of a soccer pitch. Loved the cottage like feel, with exposed rafters and a great porch to relax on. Cooked some excellent seafood thank to Kristine’s tip on were to purchase. Note that maps site the property on the beach side, but it is on the opposite side of the road with fairly easy access to the beach. About 400m from the Sirenian Bay Resort and a nice manicured beach.
