3BR Villa in Uvita

Fabienne

Good, 4 weeks ago

Great house, offers everything you need. Everything is very new and modern. We enjoyed it very much.

I was due to stay during the football World Cup, so was quite keen to be able to watch matches. David replied with suggestions of where and how to watch it, so had no need to worry. He was very helpful with all questions I had and responded really promptly, allowing me to plan my trip ahead. The house itself is tastefully decorated and looks exactly like it is in the photos. The pool was a wonderful relief in the heat, especially after walking back from the beach. Everything was a walkable distance away, supermarkets, nice eateries, and the Marino Ballena National Park entrance - we even got to see whales in July! This is a well furnished house, with enough of a workspace area for two people to work in. The WiFi was strong, kitchen has all that you need, and was a welcome getaway!

One of our favorite AirBnBs during our long trip in Costa Rica. Spacious, clean, and a peaceful location. Great hosts. Thank you!

Host Response

Thanks so much Christian! We love being able to share our home with awesome folks like you!

David was an excellent host, very responsive and friendly. He was quick to help troubleshoot an issue that came up with the lock that was resolved immediately. He was kind and offered additional ideas of places to explore with our 5 year old daughter. The house is very nice and roomy, and we enjoyed the pool multiple times a day! We enjoyed sitting outside early in the morning listening to all the birds and watching scarlet macaws fly overhead. It was not as walkable for our 5 year old, but for older kids and adults it’s still very walkable to beaches and restaurants. Uvita itself is a bit more spread out than some other towns we’ve been to but we enjoyed daily excursions to forests, waterfalls, an animal rescue, the whale’s tail, Dominical and Dominicalito beach. Overall it was a wonderful place to visit and the home is very comfortable, felt safe, and we really enjoyed our stay there!

Thank you so much for your kind words!

Casa Diana is a nice & secure home in Uvita. The location is central and can walk or short drive to much of the town and the Marino Ballena National Park. The power is not 100% reliable in Uvita, but it is rarely out for long and not characteristic of the house, but of the area. All the dishes and pans for cooking are there and we were able to prepare Costa Rican tamales for Xmas Dinner. It was nice to have 2 bathrooms with showers, 1 ensuite with the master bedroom. The showers have electric shower heads which heat the water. As long as you aren’t using real high pressure, they work well, but take some getting used to. Any problems or queries we had, David was quite responsive, usually within 30 minutes or so. There is much to do in and around Uvita and Casa Diana is a nice, safe place to call home.

We stayed at David and Diana's place for a month and loved our extended stay in their gorgeous and spacious home. The yard is the perfect place to drink coffee and watch the morning and dusk birds and the back patio is great for yoga or reading a book in the hammock. Our kids loved swimming in the pool after the beach or a hike. You can walk to the national park beach or into town to the cute restaurants and panaderia. David was incredibly responsive and kind with any requests and in providing some amazing local things to do. We felt right at home and found everything in the house to be so comfortable and easy!

Fantastically well-appointed villa in Uvita, with well-equipped kitchen, laundry room - super useful after 1.5 weeks in Costa Rica… and very comfortable beds. The swimming pool was hugely appreciated by our children in the heat of the morning and even had lights so we could swim in the evening. David is a remote host but very communicative and responded to all our questions quickly and accurately, including on local recommendations. Many thanks, David!

We absolutely loved our stay at David’s place! The space felt so homie and welcoming, and the vibe was just perfect — cozy, clean, and beautifully put together. David went above and beyond as a host, offering us fantastic recommendations and making sure we felt comfortable throughout our entire stay. You can really tell he cares about creating a great experience for his guests. We couldn’t have asked for a better place or a better host!

Host Response

You guys are the best! Thanks so much for staying with us! Come back soon

Great place to stay with a family in Uvita for a few days! The house is bigger than it looks in the photos, has all the necessary amenities. Location is perfect, quiet neighborhood, in theory you can even walk to the beach, but when it's hot still better to use a car, it's a 7-10 minutes ride. The house itself is very private, the pool is big enough to chill. The communication with Dave was great, he was quick to respond to the questions and very helpful. Good value for the price!

Thanks Roman. Welcome back anytime!

This has been the nicest and best prepared Airbnb we have ever visited. It was spacious and well appointed (just like home). We stayed 3 weeks. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning was perfect. Having a full washer and dryer was very convenient. We sat out on the lush patio morning and evening to watch the many different birds. We saw macaws and toucans flying over just about every evening. The pool was the perfect temperature to cool off after a long day of sight seeing. Dave's place was the perfect home base to drive to national parks, beautiful beaches, quaint beach towns and less touristy cloud forests in search of the resplendent quetzals. We were in walking distance of Marino Ballena National Park which I think has one of the most beautiful beaches. We walked on it every day. We took two boat tours at the park seeing whales and their babies both times and a pod of about 20 or more dolphins. It was magical. Best host and very responsive. Thank you Dave.

I was thrilled to be able to provide suggestions as we hosted your Costa Rican vacation. Your experience and your appreciation for our home, and one of our favorite places on Earth, was palpable. Thanks so much for coming!

Can’t say enough good things about David & Diana’s slice of heaven in Uvita. Central location, peaceful, the house has everything you could need & more. It’s very apparent they genuinely care & have thought of everything to ensure a comfortable stay. Excellent recommendations. Would absolutely stay here again.

Host Response

Hey Brian, we are obviously not perfect at everything Airbnb related (like replying to such nice comments) but we do try to do our best to share our home with great people like you! Thanks again.

We couldn't have asked for a better experience! The house was stocked with everything you could possibly need and more! David was an incredible host... super proactive, very quick to respond and had wonderful referrals for restaurants and activities. We will definitely be referring this house to friends and family and look forward to our next stay! If you want to make sure you have a solid home base on your vacation, this is definitely it!

Super awesome place. Uvita is fun and the house is very nice! David was very responsive and accommodating.

Host Response

Excellent! Hope to see you again soon!

My family and I stayed in David's house for a week. The house is very comfortable and quiet, the lights are very comfortable, and the pool is a delight. It has everything you need for a good stay, including washing machine and dryer, air conditioning, full kitchen, TV, etc. It is convenient to have a car to go to the beach or the village, as they are not very short distances on foot. We really enjoyed the place and would recommend it. Thanks Dave!

Host Response

So glad you had a great stay. It was an absolute pleasure hosting you!

Absolutely amazing hosts! I felt like I was borrowing a friend's place! I'm a cautious person and I appreciated them being quite available as needed. (I didn't bug much, but was still a nice thing to have). The kids loved the private pool, my son had the part job pool cleaning job (minor leaves). The location is in walkable distance to the 'whales tail' beach (google it), note that the beach is not free as it is a national park, but was quite cool to be there for low tide! This is not on the host at all, but there was quite a bit of saws going off on the road, as I assume they were clearing the land for more lots. looks like they will be done in the next few weeks as most was down already. It was sad to see some huge trees like that brought down. Once again this should not take away from the house/hosts. one really negative was the roads leading to the house. they were in very rough shape. I dreaded driving in and out of there each day. I hope they finish paving it for next time!

Host Response

Thanks Ryan! It was great hosting you too. We were sad to learn about the tree-cutting that was happening during your stay. The good news is that they installed additional electric lines which will further support the infrastructure.

This was our first time in Costa Rica, and we are so glad we found Casa Diana to stay in Uvita. The house was located in a quiet neighborhood and a short drive to every restaurant, waterfall, and beach we wanted to visit. The roads were very bumpy, but we soon learned that is to be expected everywhere in Costa Rica. We liked the host’s recommendations especially the local farmers market on Wednesday where we found fresh fruits, vegan cheeses, and good sourdough bread. My son and his girlfriend enjoyed meeting Saul and his horses in the neighborhood as well as the little vegan coffee shop and bakery within walking distance. My youngest enjoyed the pool. Overall, we were very comfortable in the three bedrooms, and we loved listening to the rain in the hammock and waking up to the birds in the morning. We didn’t cook too much, but found everything we needed in the kitchen. We also took advantage of the washer and dryer before we left. We felt very much at home, thank you.

We had such a wonderful time here, everything was perfect and David was a brilliant host. There's loads of space and I was working remotely so having the office space was a massive plus. The pool was great, we loved watching the birds and the butterflies around it and several times we saw macaws flying over us! Ideal for families, feels very private and secure. I would recommend a car as there's so much to do in the area but there are a few restaurants nearby for when you don't feel like driving.

We’ve been travelling in Costa Rica for four months now and this has been the best place so far. Nice house with fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and good size private yard with a great pool. We could walk to local stores and restaurants and drive into town in about 3-5 minutes and get everything we needed. I used the local gym and my wife could walk to the local yoga studio. Minutes from the Whale Tail, waterfalls, restaurants and amazing beaches and local communities to explore like Dominical and Playa Hermosa. Dave was quick to respond to any questions I had and made check in very easy. Great stay.
