We had a very nice stay. The location was great for a peaceful, quiet getaway, while still being convenient enough for what we needed. The house was adequately stocked with the essentials, which made the stay comfortable and easy. Overall, a solid Airbnb experience and we would recommend it.
We had a great stay at Kathleen's beautiful Samara home! The weather was NOT your typical early-June scattered shower in the afternoon. I'm talking biblical rain! The whole town lost power, but it was a lovely place to be hunkered down. The three en suite bedrooms were so comfortable for my family, and the home was nicely appointed. From a well-stocked kitchen with any utensil/cookware you could possibly need, to an activities closet filled with boogie boards, beach games, beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, you name it. They thought of everything, and we were comfortable in the home and out thanks to the amenities. The pool was beautiful, and the location is so peaceful and private, despite being a super quick walk into town (about 4 minutes). We rented a golf cart to buzz around in, which made it even more fun for the time the weather was OK. All this to say, I wouldn't hesitate to stay at Kathleen's home again. I just hope we can go back someday and enjoy it during the dry season!
We had an incredible stay at Kathleen's home. The home is spacious and beautiful. It was a luxury to have access to a private pool, a dishwasher, a washer and dryer, and a well-equipped kitchen. Through the windows, we spotted coatis, monkeys, and large birds. The home is surrounded by lush greenery. We loved having blackout shades in the bedrooms as well. Just flagging that the home is located up a steep road, so may not be an ideal place for those with mobility issues if you're not planning to rent a car or golf cart.
The house was beautiful and we really enjoyed having our own pool. We had plenty of space to spread out and all the furniture was very comfy. The location is right in town, an easy walk to the beach and all the restaurants and shopping. The hill to and from the house is tough though, and really the only downside to this place. Lots of wildlife around and we were lucky enough to see the monkeys one morning.
This was a very beautiful home on the top of a very high hill :-) the views were gorgeous, but the driveway, is hard to walk up, so make sure you have a good car to get you up and down or be excited that you will get in shape on your vacation;) I really appreciated all the extras that they had, lots of dishes, pots, and pans. They also had plenty of towels and beach toys. We definitely got to see monkeys, which was very fun. The master bedroom and bathroom were very large and a very comfortable. The two other bedrooms were perfect for children, but might be a little tight for adult couples.
As a family with kids this location was great and felt like an oasis within the town. Would highly recommend and would return if ever back in Sámara.
This house was great! I brought my family of five and there was plenty of room. Situated just above town through an automatic gate up on the hill. We rented a golf cart to get back and forth to the beach (highly recommended). I really loved access to coolers, tents and beach chairs available at the house. Costa Rica is so close to the equator, shade from the tent was a requirement! Just be aware that ants are in certain parts of the house, that is just life in this part of the world, not a big deal. I would definitely go back!
Thank you for a great spot to stay in Samara. Able to walk to town and the beach easily, but also really secluded and private. Such a well kitted out kitchen - every utensil you could need. The pool and view were great (better than the photos suggest). The local hosts were brilliant, we had an issue, sent them a message early on Saturday morning. It was fixed within the hour. What more could you ask.

Thank you, Hugh! So glad you had a great time! And I agree, the view is way better in person than in the photos. Hope you can make it back again!
We loved this house. The views from the pool were incredible and we loved being in the jungle while being just a short walk (or golf cart ride) to everything in town and the beach. The house was perfect size for our family of five. I would recommend this rental and would absolutely book it again.
We arrived for a five night stay and things went perfectly. The house is designed so well, and the host has everything you need for the kitchen, utensils, coffee, spices, and the pool is taken care of every day. I have stayed all around the world, this is my most favorite Airbnb I have ever stayed at, how the monkeys were on the property two of the five days, and we saw so many exotic animals.I will be back 100%.

Thank you, Andy! We work very hard to make the home and your stay the best possible! Samara and the Villa both really are gems! Best wishes for your future travels, KJ
We had a fantastic stay at KJ's place. Nestled in a tranquil and serene location, the villa offers beautiful jungle views, and you can see the ocean from the deck while hearing the soothing sound of the waves. Although it's conveniently close to town, the setting feels wonderfully secluded and peaceful. The pool was excellent for relaxing, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. We highly recommend this retreat for anyone seeking a serene getaway with easy access to local charm.
We really enjoyed staying at the place. The kitchen was well stocked, it was nice to cook our meals. Several shops within walking distance, including three grocery stores. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, the kids enjoyed it. The pool and grounds were intimate and enjoyable. The BBQ is a nice addition.
KJ’s house is BEAUTIFUL. The view from the pool and upper deck are gorgeous and you can hear the waves from the ocean. The house is pretty well stocked and the kids loved having their own bathrooms, as there is one for each bedroom. Nearly everything is within walking distance and the listing does an excellent job of describing not only the home and location, but many things Costa Rica. If you book, try to get the guestbook in advance as it recommends grocery stores and places to stop prior to check in. We all enjoyed our stay very much and spent many times splashing in the pool. We were also visited by a Caote, howler monkeys, many birds, and an iguana.
We really enjoyed our stay! The house was beautiful and had everything we needed to be comfortable. We loved all the beach equipment for our trips to the beach, however, a couple of the chairs and one of the umbrellas could use replacement. The pool was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed it every day. The kitchen and bathrooms were very clean when we arrived and the AC worked very well to cool the rooms, which was great considering the heat and humidity. The only downsides were that there was an odd smell in the master bathroom, the toilet whistled every few flushes and didn't always flush well, and the shower didn't drain well. There were also a lot of ants inside the house (maybe 5 types), most of which didn't bother us at all, but the super tiny sugar ant type got into the kitchen and into the food we had on the counter. We kept our food in the fridge after that. The TV was nice, but something wasn't working with the sound bar. The power also went out a lot, so be ready for that.
We loved our stay here, it was perfect for our family of five. The house is very comfortable and has everything you need, even yoga mats and boogie boards! The views are wonderful and we were visited by howler monkeys and a coati. Easy walk into town and to the beach, with lots of great restaurants and coffee shops nearby. KJ and her team were so helpful in giving recommendations for surfing and horseback riding. Everything was perfect. Thank you
