3BR Home in Las Lajas

This is a beautiful house close to the beach, perfect for our family! It has everything you need... Highly recommended

If you like coming home to a beautiful mansion and garden after a long day at the wonderful, lonely beach or other activities (we recommend kajaking or snorkeling at bocas chicas or going to boquete or chorcha waterfalls), watch a beautiful sunset, enjoy a drink on one of the two terasses watching exotic birds and flowers in total privacy before falling asleep to the sound of waves - this is the place to be. We also spend some lazy days at the nearby beach or just around the house enjoying the garden shower and nize breeze by the fans. Las Lajas is a beautiful place with friendly people, even the stray dogs are friendly, and Debra and Bred as the next neighbours are the best. As co-hosts they are very eager to help if you need anything and on top awesome and interesting people to have a chat with if you like. Dont be too picky, there might be a few bugs and no hot water in the kitchen, but its not a hotel or resort. The house and area have heart and good vibes. And for someone who lives in a 50qm appartement in an european capital it was just amazing and pure luxury.

Set back a 10-min walk from the beach, Meg and Mark’s place was a nice little enclosed oasis in the laid back town of Las Lajas. Rudy, who manages the place for them, was very communicative as our rental dates approached and met us at Johnny Fiestas and then escorted us to the house. The place had ample space for 5 people and the kitchen was well-stocked with utensils and bowls/plates. We did feel like the whole place was a bit dirty however, with cobwebs in corners, one of the bathrooms smelling not so great the entire time, and the washing machine coated in buildup (but thankfully ended up working fine). Also, the Xbox provided for watching DVDs shut itself down multiple times before working. My guess is that this is probably due to the fact that the AC unit in the common space is non-functional, creating high levels of humidity. I get that they are one of the only listings in Las Lajas that can sleep a whole family of people, but when there are hotels further down the beach with perfectly good AC, it makes you think. Thankfully, the units in the bedrooms do work for when you’re sleeping. Overall, it is a beautiful location that is not too bad on the wallet, if you’re willing to put up with a few nit picky things. P.S. Rudy was very helpful in finding a taxi for some of our family on New Years Day very early in the morning to catch a flight out of David :)

My husband and I enjoyed our stay here in Las Lajas. The house is spacious and comfortable. There were a few glitches with the keys and hot water, but they were resolved. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge and gas stove top, so you can cook if you want. The house is very secure and in a quiet, peaceful area. In ten minutes, you can walk to a beautiful beach as well as to a few local restaurants. Rudy, who manages the house, was a wealth of information and went above and beyond to help us with local tips and transportation. Las Lajas is not on most people's radar, which is why we chose it. If you see a dog hanging outside the fence, it's because I fed him chicken and veggies and he wants more. :-) Throughout Panama, there are gentle stray dogs who depend on the kindness of people to feed them. Although it can be nice to be unplugged from the world, most of us travelers need to be connected so that we have contact with our families back home, can make travel plans, etc., so I would suggest that Wifi be put in the house. All in all, it is a great place to kick back and relax and enjoy the beauty and charm of a small town in Panama.
