This home was an absolute DREAM!!!! We felt like we were at a luxury resort just for us. We spent lots of time in the outdoor living room and the pool space. Chef David is a must for a beautiful meal along with couples massages!! (One of the best massages I've had.) The local food, views and shopping were also incredible. We will be back!!

The villa was beautiful and the host helped out with everything from the time we booked all the way untill the last second we left very responsive and very helpful highly recommended

Fantastic place and stay. Everything is very much as described - beautiful, great location, packed with amenities. Location was really handy - close to the beach and Banana Azul, and still easy to get to town. The host, Sarah, was incredibly helpful every step of the way, including coordinating chef David to come and cooks us the best dinner of the trip. Importantly, it also felt completely safe and secure. It is in a neighborhood with lots of activity, so there will be some noise around, but the convenience of the location was worth some occasional dog barks and road noise. Highly recommended, it's a special place.

Even more magical than the pictures! A great open air space for shared spaces and bedrooms that are fully screened. A private oasis that is not secluded. The casa is on a secondary road so you never feel isolated and the property manager is typically on site. While the beach towns can be biked from the casa, we will have a rental car next time for more flexibility especially useful for after dark.

The place was just perfect! A little slice of heaven 🥰 The large open-plan living room was truly very pleasant, as was the very large swimming pool 🤩 Thank you for everything.

We found this property ideal for 3 couples with 3 spaced-out bedrooms for privacy. The outdoor living/dining space is massive and enjoyed by all. Sarah was very responsive and made every effort to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Chef David came in and cooked a wonderful meal. We certainly recommend this property.

This place was phenomenal with a peaceful, gorgeous setting inside and out and an abundance of amenities. Sarah and Jim were very communicative, excelled in responsiveness, and provided recommendations for beaches, places of interest, local flavors.... They coordinated transportation to/from San Jose as well as a dinner prepared by Chef David (presentable, flavorable dishes from appetizers to dessert- highly recommend). The wildlife sightings and sounds were spectacular and especially enjoyed waking to the howls of howler monkeys. Thank you Sarah and Jim for a 10+ retreat for our family of 6. Run to and don't walk away from this "magical" 3 bedroom home in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca.

We were there 5 nights with 2 adult kids (4 of us) to celebrate my 75th birthday. The place was fabulous. This would be great for 3 couples with plenty of privacy and a lot of common area for group activities. We had a welcome dinner and a birthday dinner prepared by Chef David which was unbelievable. Gio picked us up and returned us to San Jose. ( Sarah can hook you up with Gio and David) Our only regret was not staying longer! Don’t hesitate making a reservation.

The house is even better (and larger) than in the pictures. I would call this house the definition of "zen". Our family used Chef David and our meal was delicious (try the mango salsa!!) We spent evenings playing pool and games in the main living area. The town is close and has many shops and delicious restaurants. It was just a wonderful stay. thank you!!

This place is such a fun design. With the open air and huge outdoor living area it felt like an upscale yoga retreat. We did, in fact, do yoga. We booked this place strictly for R&R and it did not disappoint. We had massages on site, took the short walk to the ocean (far enough from town that it wasn't crowded at all), and enjoyed showing off our poor skills at billiards. Sitting by the pool in the early morning of evening provided plenty of wildlife and bird viewing. A really nice mix of living with nature but still having plenty of amenities. Chef David prepared us a delicious typical Costa Rican meal that was better than any we had in restaurants. For us, the only drawback in location was the road running next to the house. It is a side road that is not heavily trafficked but still got road noise at night.

A perfect week with the family. We enjoyed all the best that the casa has to offer: the chef at home, massages, swimming pool and all those family games. We received great service from the maintenance staff and hosts. Recommended!

We had a wonderful stay at casa Pilon. The house is beautiful and peaceful, and we absolutely loved the garden, spotting a toucan there was a real highlight. The pool was fantastic, and our daughters enjoyed it every day. Sarah answered all our questions very kindly and was always helpful. We also had Chef David with us one evening as a private chef, which was an amazing experience. A perfect place for families and nature lovers. Highly recommended!

we had the most amazing time - Sarah’s house was so perfect for our family Christmas - my two boys live in New York and london so having the space to be private with their partners and having such a large welcoming living area was just ideal - we used the pool, ping pong, snooker and backgammon every day - the only amenitie we did not use was the tv ! My Merlin app recorded 30 birds each morning and listening to the howling monkeys was so special - thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home.

We'd echo many of the other comments and give this an enthusiastic recommendation. Sarah helped arrange ground transportation from San Jose, which was much appreciated. David's dinner on the day of arrival was a welcome way to start the week. Juan also was happy to answer questions about the surrounding area. The place itself was wonderful. Our week in November was quite rainy, but the house/property made it easy to still have fun and take advantage of breaks between the rain with beach/pool time. We'd go back.
