3BR Villa in Tamarindo

Excellent, 3 weeks ago

The house and the location were great, they definitely have it down. If anything I would say this profile doesn't do it justice. From day one you find out You really don't need to leave the property. Carlos and Susana were so accommodating, It was a perfect combo of having our private space when we wanted it and just the right amount of options for food, bar, and beach. They have a private bar and restaurant thats very fair price pricewise. The beach was perfect, and the beds and AC were great. Tons of animal life, we saw McCaws, Toucans, parrots, monkeys and more I definitely suggest coming via Serpe River boat. We drove it, but it would have been a better experience by boat. We would definitely come back

This is a dream house in paradise. The view from the balcony and main bedroom is amazing. Great to observe birds, and we even saw a coati in the backyard once. Very spacious with fully equipped kitchen, air conditioning, washing machine (though operating it is not straightforward) . Short (but steep) walk down to the beach where is also a restaurant. Lots to do, Corcovado, Isla Cano (snorkeling), horseback riding, just walking along the coastline... Extremely friendly host helping with transport and organisation of trips. Also helped us to get to the boat at the end. Definitely a strong recommendation!

Absolutely beautiful view. The sunset was gorgeous. We saw lots of different birds and one coati in the backyard. Carlos was very nice. There are 2 river crossings that you drive through a shallow river to get there which was unexpected but shallow enough for our Kia sorrento to get over.

Thank you, family. It was a pleasure to have you! Thank you for visiting our little paradise.

Great accommodation in an even greater location. The accommodation is very spacious! We were only the 3 of us and we all had our own bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen is big and well equipped. The balcony is the showstopper and offers the best sunrise and sunset views! We drove from Manuel Antonio down to Drake Bay. The last 35 km are on dirt road, of which the last 10 on a very rough road. In dry season at least come by SUV, in the rainy season for sure arrive by 4 wheel drive. We did the night walk with Carlos (Susana’s partner), highly recommended! Check for the other options Carlos offers, he is such a friendly and knowledgeable guy. Of all the places we visited in Costa Rica, this accommodation and this area was the most unique. We can’t wait to visit this place again!

Incredible house that has the most beautiful ocean view you can imagine. The accommodation is really well equipped, comfortable, huge, real luxury in the middle of the jungle. The pictures don't do justice to the beauty of the square. The accommodation was also extremely clean. The places are really nice and the path to the beach is shaded and safe even with young children. We really enjoyed the trails, the beautiful beach and the night tour with Carlos. Also, it was very safe to be in a small family village where everyone knows each other and where you feel safe. The family restaurant was also excellent with good value for money. Susana and Carlos are great hosts!

Just finished a wonderful few days at Susana house. Perfect spot to provide a jump off to Cano Island or Corcavado, all of which Susana and Carlos organized for us. The area is so diverse, we saw a tapir practically in the garden on a night walk! The beach is accessible though a bit of a hike. but it's so undisturbed, never more than like 8 people on the whole stretch. Just a dreamy couple of days, we cooked our breakfasts and lunches having stopped at a market enroute and then the hotel restaurant was perfect (rice protein and veg) every night for dinner. Thank you so much Susana & Carlos, we will be back!

Susana and Carlos have a beautiful house up the hill from a perfect beach. They arranged trips for us to Corcovado and Cano island and accompanied us to the pick up point to make sure everything went well. Carlos called us every day with chances to see new animals or release baby turtles. Getting to see this part of Costa Rica was a once in a lifetime opportunity for us, we were very happy with our stay.

Gracias familia es un gusto a verlos recibido

We had an incredible week at Susana and Carlos' beautiful home. As others have said, the views and wildlife are magnificent! The kitchen is spacious and well equipped, we loved having 2 hammocks and ample seating throughout the home. The on-site restaurant is delicious. Having hiking trails from the property was also a big plus. The beaches are some of the most pristine I have experienced in CR. Definitely recommend doing the night tour with Carlos. We did come during the low/rainy season so our power was on/off throughout our stay and Susana can be slower to respond in general. We mostly communicated with Carlos after a few days in. He was our hero when we the river was flooded and I needed to get back to the airport. They take safety and precautions very seriously!

Stunning view in this house owned by Susana and Carlos. Overlooks the hillside, beach and Caño island. Huge porch for watching the sunset. Porch is excellent location for birders: over your coffee you will see scarlet macaws, toucans, tanagers, hunting caracaras, parakeets, kiskadees, flycatchers, woodcreepers, and more. A long staircase path takes you directly to the beach (rough for those with mobility problems). The house itself is worn and hasn’t been updated in quite a while. There are no overhead fans and few windows that have screens, so you have to use the air conditioners. To get to the house you have to drive through two rivers. Susan kept us apprised about the river conditions before arrival. We were in a Suburu Crosstrek (a low pseudo-SUV) and had no problems at all. Communication over AirBnB messaging wasn’t good but once we had her What sApp, Susan was very responsive and accommodating. Carlos was amazing, great hospitality. Came in early May, had the beach to ourselves!

Awesome spot for relaxing and adventuring in the Costa Rican jungle and beach. We love love loved the porch overlooking the canopy and the ocean. We spent hours watching the birds (macaws, toucans, hummingbirds, tanagers, and more!) and listening to the sounds of the waves. Bring binoculars! The rooms are really nice with AC in every room, nice bathrooms and nice beds. The kitchen is great with everything you need to cook. There’s a restaurant and bar a few mins down the path if needed. We booked a night tour with Carlos, snorkeling tour, and day wildlife viewing tour with Adrian when we arrived. Susan arranged it all and it was amazing! We saw so much wildlife in the forest during the day and night, and had a great time snorkeling. Our six days at the place were wonderful and we highly recommend this spot. Please note there are two rivers to cross if you come by car. They were low enough to cross for us but it is a consideration depending on the season you book (rainy or dry).
