The location is spectacular, and the staff service is very good. I would definitely recommend it.

I almost don’t want to write an amazing review because I don’t want anyone to know how amazing this hidden gem is no to ensure there is availability when we come back. The pictures online are lovely but it doesn’t capture the grandeur and seclusion of this spot. There are no details overlooked in this spot. From the high quality everything (outdoor furniture, linens, beds, building itself) and beautiful jungle surrounding, it was our favourite spot in the area. Definitely need a high clearance 4x4 not just a midsize 4 x4 but the reward was worth the drive. We saw the most incredible animals during our stay. We stopped counting at about 15 exotic and interesting animals after our first day. I would highly recommend having meals made by Jackie. They were some of the best dishes we had, authentic and not expensive for what you get. Super kind care takers! The trek to the beach seemed intimidating when going down but the decent and accent were both 15 mins taking it slow.

Thank you so much for your truly positive feedback. Indeed it is a hidden gem.

Wow, wow, wow! This home takes a little bit of work to get to, but that is half of the fun and the payoff is hugely rewarding. I don’t know what we loved most - the view or the wildlife right outside any door or window. Take time to get to know Didier, Jacky (Super Chef) and their lovely daughters. They will take the very best care of you, and they will enhance your overall experience with their knowledge and kindness. This home is one of the places I will revisit again and again in my mind before going to bed each night!

Thank you Katy. I really appreciate your feedback. Especially I will Jacky and Didier know about it. They are going to be so proud. Thank you in letting me know the circumstances of the mosquito net with the broken arm of your son. I hope he is soon better. It is another baseline regarding the little dammage...

We had an awesome stay at Punta Jaguar! What a beautiful, magical place. The views were amazing and the wildlife was abundant. While just sitting and relaxing on the top floor, the Toucans and monkeys were in the tree tops at our eye level, so cool! The caretakers were very kind and helpful. Especially Jacky who cooked us three delicious meals, served by her and her two sweet daughters. Though we were very sad to learn the tree house will be torn down (we were the last guests!), we are so looking forward to seeing what this place becomes. It is a gorgeous location, very special. We will definitely be back, soon!

Only book here if you like amazing views, privacy, peaceful surroundings, wildlife, and want a wonderful vacation 😀 I can not recommend the treehouse more. The location is beautiful, we saw so many birds including scarlet macaws, toucans, and hawks, as well as monkeys, a coati, and an anteater. It was a truly magical spot to stay. The beach is rugged but beautiful, and a good workout to get to! The views from the bedrooms and shower are second to none. The caretakers Didier and Jackie were so helpful, and we had dinner cooked by Jackie that was delicious. We booked a tour, and our guide Milton was great - so knowledgeable and kind. The driveway had some tricky spots following an extra rainy wet season (jungle life!) but Ariane was very responsive and helpful and Didier helped us out. Definitely get a 4x4 (as stated in the listing). Again, I couldn’t give a better review, we loved it here!

Words can’t describe the nature and the sound of the jungle! This place is such a hidden gem with the view over the ocean and the Matapalo surf spot. A beautiful jungle trial leads you from the house to the beach in 10 - 15 minutes while you can observe the monkeys, butterflies and scarlet macaws. Even though it is a open simple tree house, you can get spoiled by the excellent cooking dishes from Jacky. The view from the top floor it is outstanding and even better while you are showering and seeing the whales in the bay…. We took excellent surf lessons with Keilor and he gave us also super other recommendations. If you want to escape the noise and stress from the world, you should book this beautiful house in this unique location. Thank you

Punta Jaguar is such a magical place surrounded from primary forest and in front with a view over the ocean. While taking a shower you can observe the monkeys and the humpback whales in front. The house is simple but the setting ist so outstanding beautiful that you don’t miss any luxury items... You are surrounded by nature and hear the sound of the waves and the nature….A 4WD is a must as a step nature road leads you to the house. We were spoiled by the cooking from Jacky, the wife from the guard. So we felt like in paradise. We are certainly coming back on day. Thank you.

Broken coffee pot, broken dirty dishes kitchen. No hot water. One tiny fan. Termites are leaving dust all over kitchen counter tops. We stayed 1 night and asked for a refund. She only partially refunded after us reporting to bnb. Was rude in her response. Does not say in description no hot water how dirty all utensils and pots and dishes. Towels smell like turpentine.

Every now and then you have a guest that is beyond hard to please. This began prior to arrival and got worse when she actually arrived, nothing can ever be right. Our guests typically take imperfections with good humor, the property is truly off grid and in the jungle, being a tree house it offers few ameneties that the less adventurous traveler -used to US standards- might expect. What we lack in comforts we make up in charm and views. With a "no questions asked" refund of 2 nights in prime season I went beyond what would have been required of us. Having said all this, we annually replace and upgrade all our utensils and have done so again in April 24. We treat all our visitors with the respect they deserve, one thing we are unable and unwilling to do is to change the character of our treehouse into that of a 3* Hilton that Jennifer might have expected.

Our experience mirrored previous reviews. The 3rd floor bedroom was not only magnificent with it simultaneous ocean and tree-top view; its entire essence was something you can’t easily replicate. The completely open air structure is truly the most unique experience you are likely to find anywhere. My fav was the top floor open air raindrop shower looking out at the Pacific. Yikes! As others have mentioned, asking Jacky to prepare meals is the way to go. Fantastic food with local flavor. We loved her. She and her husband, Didier only speak Spanish, but web translate worked just fine. There is a caveat: it’s an environment that is best suited for the adventurous. No hot water, and the road conditions leading to their driveway are very rugged, along with open single vehicle bridges. Being prepared, we were fine: 4x4 vehicle with good ground clearance is a must in my opinion. Easy rental at Alamo - right by the airstrip. It’s a is a trek to get there, but more than worth the effort.

Punta Jaguar is brilliant - but worth making sure it suits you! Totally unique. Totally secluded. Day and night with all the sounds of nature. A solid trek to get here (even just down the driveway which definitely required a 4WD). We had 5 nights here, and never ran out of things to do. Although lots of our time was spent reading in the lawn chairs and soaking in the wildlife as they filtered by. Daily visits from monkeys, macaws, toucans, and abundant birdlife, plus occasional visits from lots of other animals (Tayra, Coati, Agouti). Jacky did all our cooking which made our stay totally relaxing. She looked after us so well! Didier drove us back and forth to Puerto Jimenez which took all the hassle out of getting here. Ariane was always responsive and helpful with our questions. Beyond the property we walked to the beach and waterfall, and did a day trip into Corcovado, which was very special. Overall a fantastic experience!

Dear Richard, thank you so much for your so positive feedback. Regarding the mosquito net: There are actually brand new and apparently the best at the moment on the market..... Iti is a good remark regarding the van, but as we don't have enough power during the night, it is impossible to install one. Further we are planning to build a new and simple new house with more amenities..... So another reason to come back....))) All the best Ariane

Really awesome place. Very private. Unbeatable view. I would recommend having miss Jacky cook for you at least one night. Her food is great and it’s cheaper than anything in the area. Be sure to stock up on whatever you think you’ll need at the BM in Puerto Jimenez. It’s a legit 1hr drive, one way, if you forget anything. House has pretty much anything you need to cook your meals. It is definitely one of our favorite places to stay in Costa Rica. Plenty of awesome hiking, surfing, etc. we saw plenty of animals on the grounds and hikes. We saw a pack of wild hogs at one point. It’s definitely off the beaten path, but we couldn’t have been happier staying here. We stayed a total of 5 nights, but easily could have stayed longer if our real life weren’t calling us back.

Wow, thank you

This is our second time visiting the treehouse. We were so happy to see that very little had changed in the four years since we had last visited, save for a few improvements. Jackie and Didier, the housekeeper and caretaker, were so helpful and attentive, but never intrusive. We booked Jackie for one of our meals and I’m so glad we did. Her cooking was such a treat! We hope to return again someday soon to one of our very favorite places. Thank you, Ariane!
