One of our favorite Airbnb stays ever... We were able to stay at Southern Cross for seven weeks during the rainy season, when Santa Teresa is a bit less busy. The house is large, open and full of light with these beautiful glass-paneled windows. Located just a few minutes north of the town of Santa Teresa (literally 5 minutes on an ATV), it's a very rare find with both an ocean view as well as being walkable to the beach. Most ocean-view properties require steep ATV climbs over rough terrain, but this was right across the street from the beautiful Blue Mist Hotel and a public beach access. Melissa was a fantastic host. Very responsive, full of local recommendations, and the stay came with a 3x weekly housekeeping as well as a property manager who lives right down the driveway to take care of any issues or questions. We cooked fresh-caught fish, ate fruit bowls, relaxed by the pool, read books during thunderstorms. It was paradise!

Southern Cross was absolutely perfect! Right across the street from a fabulous beachside restaurant and bar (Blue Mist) and a short drive into downtown Santa Teresa. The house was immaculate, fully stocked but not cluttered, and the surroundings were beautiful and peaceful. Thanks for a great stay - we will be back!

We had a wonderful stay. The property is beautiful and the kids loved the pool area. It was nice to walk to the beach whenever we wanted. Melissa was so helpful and easy to contact. She helped the ATV rentals, shuttles and anything we needed help will.

Up above the “blue mist” , tucked up on the hill, is a perfect slice of heaven! This home is even more beautiful than the pictures show. Very private, with a perfect poolside view of the pacific sunset every evening. A short walk down to the quiet, endless beach. A quick ride to the shops and restaurants of Santa Teresa or to Playa Hermosa for surf lessons or morning whale sightings and more miles of unpopulated beaches. The home is immaculately cared for by wonderful people and Melissa is a great communicator and facilitator. We can’t say enough about our wonderful stay here.

Melissa was an excellent host! Prior to arriving she provided all sorts of tips on local surfing instructors, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. The house had a major leak and we had to move to a different home after one night. When we let Melissa know about the leak, the maintenance man was there within five minutes and Melissa was responsive within one minute. Luckily, Melissa was able to find us a new location to stay the rest of the trip but we were bummed to leave this beautiful home. The home had everything we needed in the kitchen and was clean.

Oh my gosh! This was one of the nicest places we've stayed with Airbnb. The location is incredible—just steps away from the ocean, a quick drive to Santa Teresa for fantastic food and nightlife, and only a minute away from Playa Hermosa. We rented surfboards and shopped at the local mercado, making it easy to grab snacks or prepare dinner at home (or piña coladas!). We also ate out in Santa Teresa and discovered some great spots for lunch and a perfect restaurant to watch the stunning sunsets. Melissa was AMAZING and incredibly helpful from booking through our entire stay, answering a myriad of questions and providing excellent suggestions for excursions, restaurants, and activities. The house was INCREDIBLE! The layout was perfect for our family of six, giving us plenty of room. Thank you for an amazing stay!

The house is spacious, comfortable, bright. Spectacular location, with total privacy and a few meters from the beach. Melissa was a great host, always attentive to any needs we could have. We recommend it!

We highly recommend this house and Melissa and her team! Melissa is an amazing host - very proactive, helpful, and quick to respond. Her team of an on-site maintenance man and a housekeeper that came every couple of days were so kind and helpful. The care and friendliness of Melissa and her team is above and beyond any other Airbnb experience. We had an absolutely amazing experience staying at the Southern Cross. The house was perfect for our party of six adults. The house is stunning and very comfortable with a great vibe. We did a lot of cooking and grilling and the kitchen had everything we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool and outdoor seating. The views from the balconies are amazing. The location of the house is perfect with a very short walk to the beach, a quick drive to nearby restaurants and just a short drive to downtown Santa Teresa. And yet, the house and pool feel private, secluded and safe. We will definitely be back!

What can I say, we stayed here for a whole month and this airbnb and the team made our stay incredible. We felt safe, looked after and supported in every way. The house is beautiful and spacious, the views are amazing and the team is simply the best. You will not find a better host than Melissa - she was incredible…proactive, super responsive and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. The security guard / handyman who stays on the property was also incredibly helpful and the cleaner was lovely… just overall a stellar team who we already miss! We were travelling with a 4 month old baby which in itself can have his challenges but this team made the whole process feel easy and we had the best trip. We couldn’t recommend this house more!

The house is very spacious and beautiful. Location between Hermosa and Santa Teresa is perfect and the host and staff were super friendly. Would go again any time!

Great house and as pictured. A big bonus is to have Melissa as she is the most responsive and real time property manager we have experienced. Unlike most Airbnb you had hotel like service with an on-site attendant and daily cleaning service that took care of our laundry too. Both were the nicest people. A few things went wrong but Melissa and the staff tried really to quickly accommodate and fix. Minor the house attendant came several time to shoe away crabs that sneaked into the house. My only suggestion is to have the home retrofitted with some weather striping to all the rustic doors and modern front door to make it hard for the crabs to enter the home. Highly recommend this Airbnb!!
