What an amazing place to experience the Costa Rican pacific coast! David and Astrude were so welcoming and generous with their home. The warm swimming pool, cozy, fully stocked home, and the beach right across the quiet dirt road were highlights of our stay. If you want to place to get away from everything, this is the place to be. We saw lots of wildlife, picked up over a dozen full sand dollars and enjoyed playing in the huge waves. Our family of five thoroughly enjoyed our time on la playa! If we ever come back to CR, we’ll definitely stay here!

Above and beyond: from the first moment, Astrude and David didn’t leave us wanting - we were blown away by their attentiveness, attention to detail and personal touch. They ensured there was a large assortment of fresh fruit, bread, milk, assorted juices, beer, and wine in the fridge before we arrived - I’ve never experienced this in all my years for VRBO and Airbnb experience! Their beach house was immaculate, and David’s walkthrough was very thorough and welcoming. We had a hiccup with a power outage but David rushed over to ensure we had everything we needed. He stayed in the casita until power was fully restored taking time away from his family to ensure we were as comfortable as possible. We couldn’t possibly recommend Astrude and David more highly: from their beautiful home, to the location and views, and their outstanding dedication to our experience!

Staying with Astrude and Dave was a great experience. We loved going to our "private" Pacific and then jumping into the pool! The place is a bit isolated (about 10 minutes by car from Parrity), but for us it was a plus. There is a great restaurant nearby that we recommend - Mar y Sol!

We had a wonderful stay and everything was exactly what we hoped it would be. The ocean view was beautiful, and the pool was a perfect place to relax. There was a great little restaurant nearby that quickly became one of our favorite hidden gems. The location was convenient to amenities while still offering a private and peaceful feel. The neighbors were friendly, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. We would happily stay here again!

Our family always reminiscent about the big house we stayed in Maui, or the perfect house in Pompano. We’ll be talking about this property for years! You feel at home right away, and after a long plane ride and drive it is exactly what you want. We rode the bikes up and down the road and on the beach during low tide. If you want a secluded location this is a fantastic property!

This was such a pleasant surprise. If you are looking for privacy, quiet, and just relaxing time; this is the place to be. Host was so thoughtful. Really enjoyed our stay.

We loved staying at Astrude's place. It is a beautiful and very well-maintained house where you immediately feel comfortable and at home. The ocean view is breathtaking, and the hosts are very warm. In addition, the house has everything you could possibly want. We're determined to come back.

This is just a wonderful home right across the street from the ocean. Quiet, old beach road to access and really feels like you are not in an overblown tourist trap. Pool was clean and warm, plenty of places to rest and relax. We loved every moment. We were suppose to go to Manuel Antonio, but plans changed. We were all so happy they did. Take the time here to recharge and relax. Walk the beach is amazing. David responded quickly and effectively. We will definitely be back. Thank you!

We spent three unforgettable nights at Casa Choucoune, Astrude and David’s stunning home. It truly feels like paradise on earth. The moment you arrive, there’s a sense of warmth and comfort—like stepping into a family home—yet everything carries the elegance and ease of a luxury vacation. Every detail has been thoughtfully provided, so you never feel like anything is missing. The house itself is beautifully decorated, blending charm with sophistication. Its remote location adds to the magic, offering peace and seclusion, while still being just a short drive from the main road. And the beach right across the street? Completely empty, breathtakingly beautiful, and the perfect place to unwind. Casa Choucoune is the kind of place that makes you feel both at home and on holiday at the same time—a rare and wonderful combination.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 9 Day Vacation at Astrude and David’s paradise. David patiently waited our later evening arrival to help familiarize us with their beautiful, clean, well equipped Villa. Their place is located off the beaten path between Parrita and Quepos with great markets in both locations that have everything you need to make delicious meals in their well equipped and comfortable kitchen. If you don’t feel like cooking there are some amazing restaurants close by. The beach is very clean and the sunsets are incredible! The pool was a refreshing place to stay cool all day between beach walks or lounging at the comfortable patio out front. We experienced some local Adventures that were easy to get to and book, plus added a couple of day trips to Manuel Antonio area less than an hour away. Wonderful hospitality from our hosts David and Astrude. The added touches of fresh fruit, eggs, and juice they provided to get us started was a wonderful welcome. Thank you so much!

oh my goodness what a beautiful home!! the home is located directly across the street from the pacific Ocean and was exactly what we were looking for. the home was very well appointed and very nicely decorated!! you have the Ocean in the front and a very nice pool in the back of the house which our 11 year old son absolutely loved!! the sunset was absolutely amazing and we really enjoyed watching from the beach. pretty much had the whole beach to ourselves!! the only thing I regret was not booking for another few days!! David meet us there and showed us around and was a perfect gentleman. if your looking for a place on the beach with a pool i would definitely highly recommend that you book this home !! i promise that you wont regret your decision!!

Book this place!! From the warm greeting upon arrival, to the bounty of food provided, to the AMAZING view of the ocean, to the wildlife right in the back yard, to the pristine swimming pool…I could go on and on…Astrude and David go out of their way to make their guests feel at home. I also appreciate their love for Costa Rica and preserving its beauty. My family and I hope to return to this beautiful home in the future. Casa Choucoune is the perfect place for a beach getaway. It is 5km down a gravel road with beach on one side and jungle on the other. The house is so close to the ocean that you can hear the waves from the house. The beach was clean and isolated. It felt like we had miles of sand to ourselves. The kids loved building sandcastles and playing in the surf. The house itself looks just like the pictures. David greeted us upon arrival and showed us all the features. It was clean and spotless. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed for cooking our meals. There are several outdoor areas to sit and relax. It was perfect for everything we needed. We can't wait to come back again.

What an incredible gem of a stay this charming house is! We loved every minute of our stay. From the therapeutic front patio, to the lovely pool and views from the top deck, everything about the house is designed to make you happy. This is a quiet corner, away from the throngs of thrill seeking tourists up and down the coast - and yet there are adventures to be made close by if you are willing to get off the beaten path and know where to look. Astrude and David are the perfect hosts. We recommend and will happily come again.
