5BR Villa in Palmetto Bay

Nuvia

Excellent, 3 weeks ago

Beautiful property! Our family had visited Roatan previously and had went the all-inclusive route, and this was our first time in a private home. We had a wonderful time, as the house provided us everything we needed, with a beautiful view, pool, amenities, and ample space for our large group, featuring beautiful rooms, large bathrooms, and kitchen space. Carolina and host were extremely attentive and helpful, providing us with local recommendations, car rental, and excursion packages. Home is located in a private, very secure area. We highly recommend Casa Dos Palapas for anyone looking for a beautiful, calm, and relaxing getaway!

Stayed a couple of weeks at Dos Palapas and enjoyed it immensely. The house was spacious, with a ton of places for our group to spread out. The outdoor living spaces are truly the highlight - relaxing in the pool area, taking in the sunset from the top deck, and grilling (on an extremely nice built-in grill) after a long day exploring Roatan were all excellent ways to unwind in this tropical paradise. Palmetto Bay, while out a good bit from West End/West Bay, was still very convenient to the airport and the grocery store. We enjoyed being able to go back to the peace and quiet of the house after being in the busier parts of Roatan during the day. The Brewery being open for dinner would make it even more of a slam dunk. We got certified with Scuba Roatan during the trip, and it was great to roll out of bed and be there in 3 mins. The house has its quirks, but is well stocked with just about everything you could need for an unforgettable stay on Roatan. Carolina is amazing as well!

We had a fantastic stay at this house. The host was very helpful and friendly from the very beginning — communication was quick and they made us feel welcome right away. The house is exactly like the pictures, clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. We especially appreciated the great privacy and the very secure neighborhood, which gave us total peace of mind throughout our trip. Everything worked perfectly and we felt right at home. This is a place we would definitely book again and highly recommend to others! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Good location, easy to get to Half Moon Bay & West Bay. House is large. We were a couple traveling without our kids & chose for the outdoor space, not the size. It would be a great value for a family/families. I extensively researched before selecting a place, and this is probably one of the best values/locations. Felt EXTREMELY SAFE at this house. For families- having resort beach on site would be a bonus. As would the very large back yard with nice green grass. There have been some updates since photos (new deck railings, new range hood). Nice that there were some basics in house (salt, pepper, oil, coffee filters). Carolina was very responsive when I had questions

The “Dos Palapas” property in Palmetto Bay met our expectations. The photos accurately reflect the reality; the location is quiet, safe, and, thanks to 24/7 security, very pleasant. In the low season, it was wonderfully relaxed. We stayed there for 7 nights as 10 adults + a toddler, and we had plenty of space. Particularly nice are the pool and the tower room, which has a great view and wooden windows with mosquito screens. However, rooms without air conditioning get very hot in tropical temperatures. Caroline was friendly at all times when we were there, easy to reach, and helpful. The pool and grounds were regularly maintained. Starlink Wi-Fi worked excellently throughout the house. The beach is about a 15-minute walk away, but the path is steep and rocky. By car, it's only 2–3 minutes. We strongly recommend renting a car, as taxis are rare in the area and supermarkets are about 15 minutes away. Minor criticisms: somewhat limited and worn-out kitchen utensils, and few amenities for toddlers.

We spent a wonderful week at Dos Palapas - it was even better than the pictures! We had 3 teenagers who had lots of room to spread out and do their own thing but also lots of space for family movies and games. The pool and deck area was fantastic and throughout the day was really nicely part sun/part shade. There were lots of bath and pool towels and the beds, pillows, and sheets were comfortable. The appliances were new and kitchen was well stocked. We walked to check out the beach and the restaurant (ate there twice) and the whole community felt very safe and friendly, while the house still had a lot of privacy. On top of the physical house things that were amazing, Carolina was fantastic answering all my pre-trip questions and recommendations as well as meeting us for check in and being available for random concerns during the week! She's amazing! Over all, it was a great week on Roatan and this location was good for doing a variety of things around the island.

The house was great!

Host Response

thank you , i’m glad you enjoyed !

The house was beautiful! Spacious and all of the guests had their own space! There were 9 adults and 2 kids in our party. The pool was clean and clear! The water cold due to the current weather but we still lounged around the pool, dipped our feet and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. The 24/7 security is a major plus for us and another reason why we love staying in Palmetto Bay! The house is as the photos, no complaints! Washer and dryer came in handy. And we cannot forget our buddy that joined us on day 2, the orange cat that became one with us and kept us company! Communication was great on all ends. Totally recommend this house and hosts!

We stayed there for a week and absolutely loved it. Depending on what you are looking for, this can be the dream place. It is in a quieter neighborhood and the community has a private beach, dock, and bar/restaurant which also had great food. The house was a nice 5 to 10 min walk to the beach or you can drive for 1 min. We were there at the worse possible time of the year and still managed to swim, jump off the dock, and found a lot of fish for kids to go snorkeling and find a lot of interesting stuff. The house can be hard to get to in dark for first time but we are experienced Travellers and had no issues. It is close to a few grocery stores - driving distance. Property manager was great and was accessible throughout the whole time. There are two down sides to the place - if you are looking for busy and parties, this isn't your place. If you are there for peace and calmness, be prepared for deep depression on your last day as leaving the paradise isn't easy.
