Roger Review My wife, my self, our adult son, and our little four legged girl stayed 3 nights during the green (wet) season. Also, the end of mango season. They were literally raining down from above throughout our stay. The donkeys loved our feeding the mangoes to them. The pictures fail to fully express the expanse and beauty (both natural and man made). Every aspect of the property is meticulously maintained. Roger was an incredibly attentive and responsive host. Best of all, the breakfasts prepared by Rosy were amazing. Fresh ingredients, expertly prepared, and served with love. Five stars just isn't enough to capture the quality of our stay at this amazing place.

We visited Roger’s property with our three kids, eight, seven, and three years old. We were blown away - the photos don’t do it justice. We like to visit remote places that are easy to explore with hiking and have cool natural features - this had sloths, monkeys, donkeys/chicken on the property, nearby waterfall hikes and thermal pools all < 60 min away, and a spectacular pool our kids played in nonstop. Breakfast was delicious (“the best in CR” according to our daughter) and Roger/Rosie were the best - they even drove us up the mountain to see the view when my kids wanted to try riding in the truck. Every day he gave us great local recommendations of things to do, and it’s clear that he sees running an Airbnb as a beautiful way to connect with newfound friends all over the world. We hope they visit us someday! We would love to come back. 10/5 stars!

This place was amazing. I came to a beach city after this place and it’s dirty- unlike the country. I just loved the peace, quiet, and beauty Roger’s place had to offer. Spotless and clean. I did get confused thinking I rented a house- it’s more of a bed and breakfast with the amount of beds you require. Roger and his wife were SO hospitable, friendly, and accommodating. Breakfast each morning with fresh juice was awesome. I need to learn more Spanish to communicate better here. My kids loved fishing in the pond and they let us do laundry. We went to the local hot springs and had local food. We Also used the pool table plenty. I’m grateful for being able to experience this place❤️

A little slice of heaven where Roger and Rosy welcomed us with great kindness. There are really cute animals, and the pool is very nice. The breakfasts are amazing; they are so delicious and prepared with great care. The hosts are very generous. My only regret is not being good enough at Spanish to chat more with our hosts. We ended our trip there, in peace and surrounded by nature!

Our stay at Roger and Rosie’s was magical. The house and property are immaculate. Our kids enjoyed the chickens and donkeys, swimming in the pool, playing in the games room and going on hikes. There is lots to explore! Roger and Rosie were so welcoming and made an amazing breakfast to start our day!

Far and away the best AirBnB we have ever had the good fortune to a guest. Roger and Rosie treat every guest like family and the grounds are stunning. If you are a naturalist and appreciate simplicity and tranquility, look no further. The breakfast is delicious, the pool is refreshing and your time there will not be enough! What great hosts and what a wonderful place. If you like birds, this is a bird-lovers paradise and there is a hike out behind the house that leads to a view of 5 volcanoes and Lake Nicaragua. And the mountain forest is a haven for wildlife. You won’t be disappointed with your time well spent here

Malekus Mountain Lodge was absolutely beautiful and my favorite place we stayed in Costa Rica. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed. The grounds were gorgeous with the greenery, stone construction, spacious dining area, great game room for gathering with my travel friends, hiking trails, and pristine pool. Roger and his wife cooked us absolutely delicious breakfasts each morning with delicious fresh fruit smoothies. They were even gracious enough to serve breakfast an hour early one morning to accomodate or travel plans for the day. The kitchen was wonderful with everything we needed to cook for ourselves as we pleased. After an intial misunderstanding of the number of rooms our party required, Roger and his wife quickly remedied the issue. Roger was on site most of the time to answer our questions and make recomendations on local attractions and the best routes to get there. He even offered suggestions on restaurants and places to visit at our next destination.

Roger and Rosie are the most hospitable, kind, accommodating, and gracious hosts. Roger was very helpful with local activity and excursion recommendations and directions. His overall knowledge of Costa Rica and genuine love for the country added a personal and meaningful touch to our stay. The property is absolutely gorgeous offering many amenities at a great value with lots to explore. The pool is beautiful. The rooms are comfortable with beautiful furniture. The shared living space with the pool table and fireplace was SO COOL and a fun place to hang out! Roger and Rosie served DELICIOUS hot breakfasts in the lovely covered open air dining area featuring authentic Costa Rican foods, fresh fruit, fresh eggs, fresh squeezed juices and smoothies, Coffee, tea yogurt, granola, pastries, etc. Our group highly recommends the truly exceptional Malekus Mountain Lodge! We loved every minute of our stay!

This place was spectacular. I have travelled all over the world and this is one of the most beautiful and incredible air b n bs I’ve ever stayed at. The pictures do not do the place justice. The property was so beautiful and well maintained. The indoor outdoor space was so relaxing. Roger was very kind and helpful. He responded promptly to all our questions. He made us feel right home and even had our children help out with feeding the donkeys which they loved. It is a true echo lodge and I am leaving the place feeling extremely relaxed and fulfilled. I would recommend this place time and time again! Just incredible!

Words cannot really describe the beauty and hospitality of this place! It is truly, truly special. We loved meeting Roger and Rosy - they could not have been more kind and welcoming. Spotless rooms and common spaces. Delicious breakfast provided. The photos don't do it justice. We can't wait to come back!!

Roger and Rosie were wonderful hosts. The site is wonderful, extremely well maintained. The trails around the area are beautiful, there is everything to satisfy everyone young and old. Swimming pool, pond, feeding the animals, trails leading to the jungle or views of the Miravalles volcano. We even saw a sloth a few meters from the gate! Every tip and activity was successful, in addition to hearty breakfasts and fresh juice every morning. I'll go back there for sure. We were 3 families of 3 generations, everyone was won over by the experience.

The lodge is completely magical! We were only there one night, but it was the highlight of our trip. If I had to do it over, we would have planned to stay there at least two or three nights. The grounds are pristine, the property extremely well maintained and utterly charming and Roger and his wife were the most excellent of hosts! My kids were obsessed. We had to leave at 4:30am for an early flight and Roger even woke up to ensure we had fresh coffee and breakfast before we left - which was not expected, but was so appreciated. Malaki’s Lodge was the best. I can’t rate this stay high enough.

Amazing place! beautiful lodge in a beautiful farm with extremely nice and generous hosts, Roger and his wife. The kitchen has everything you need and is super clean. The host are always available for any need. The pool is beautiful, comfortable saloon area with a fireplace and pool table. This place is extraordinary and is super recommended

I went with my partner to visit the area. The place is beautiful, breakfast was delicious. The bed was very comfortable. The room was beautiful The place in general is very cozy. I recommend going in large groups because the accommodation is perfect for being with family or friends as they have a very large and beautiful living room. Don Roger and his wife were very kind.
