The home is located in Hacienda Pinilla, a very private gated community next to the JW marriott. The grounds are beautiful, with lots of trees and foliage. The house is very elegant, with high end finishes and well designed spaces. It was perfect for our family of six. Our favorite spot was the upstairs patio with lots of comfy places to sit and an ocean view. Beds are all very comfortable. There are three lovely pools in the complex, one adjacent to the property, and a beautiful beach just a short walk away. Tamarindo the town is very busy and quite popular with tourists, so it was great to be in a more peaceful setting. You do need a car or some transport to get to markets and restaurants as Tamarindo is a 20-30 minute drive. The auto Mercado is the Costa Rica equivalent of Whole Foods, again in the town. A highlight of our stay at the home was hanging out with a family of howler monkeys by the pool.

My family enjoyed our stay. It’s within walking distance to the beach where you can see beautiful sunsets. The beach is not swimmable bc it is rocky but nevertheless beautiful. Howler monkeys and beautiful birds every day! I would recommend renting a car or golf cart because the property is so big. Getting in and out of the neighborhood was a little bit of a challenge because it is extremely safe and uber can’t just drive in. We hired a driver for the week so we were fine. Others who rent in the area rented a car. Worth every penny, the property is absolutely beautiful and the home had everything we needed. Very comfortable! We will be back.

This home is beautiful and spacious. The location is stunning, we enjoyed our view every morning on the patio. Mark was so kind to recommend local restaurants, help arrange a fishing trip for our kids and quickly respond to any questions. One of the best experiences we have had with renting a home on vacation.

We stayed at Mark's Villa in Palma Real for 3 nights and had a great time. The house was extremely clean, spacious and comfortable, just what our family was looking for.

We loved our stay in Mark’s condo in Hacienda Pinilla. It was the perfect size for our family of 5 and I really loved seeing the ocean from the porch. The whole Pinilla neighborhood is great but to be in Palma Real close to the ocean was really special. We also had a small pool that almost felt private because it was not used very often. Everything in the house was comfortable and worked great. If you need a place to unwind and want to see the ocean from your home this is a great spot. The beaches in the Pinilla neighborhood were great and we loved going to the beach each night to watch the sun go down. We would definitely come back again

Amazing property! The home was very clean and as described for our family of 6. Nice view of the ocean from the top balcony, and within a short stroll to a beach. Our family used the beach club a couple of days which is $35pp, the beach was very nice, access to the JW Marriot grounds (pool and beach) we were told is only open during low season and $120pp with $35 being food and drink credits. We also used the smaller pool adjacent to the home, and the much larger one a short walk which were very nice. The grounds are so beautiful and well kept, very private and secure. We did rent a car to go other places, but also used their horseback riding facilities, it was great! Be prepared to bring your own sugar, coffee and tea for that first morning before you can get to the store. Amazing place, would love to stay again!

This place has water view from the Balcony, JW Marriott is walking distance away and has a beautiful beach. All the bedroom were spacious for our family of 5. The overall community is very clean and there is a closer Beach Bonita couple hundred yards away since there are rocks everywhere it is not swimmable. We enjoyed our stay overall

Beautiful! Super close to the beach and pools in the community. It was quiet and nicely decorated and maintained.

Gorgeous home! The community is very safe and secure. The beach was just a short walk away, and there were 2 pools nearby (one just steps away). You can hear the waves crashing from the backyard. Great ocean view from the balcony, and great spot to watch the sunset. The community has several activities. We enjoyed horseback riding, golf, and the beach club (5 min drive). We went to the bar and shops at the JW Marriott. The Pinilla Market is small and has limited hours but was well stocked. Groceries, restaurants and shops were easy to get to in Tamarindo (20 min away. This home is beautiful and spacious for our family of 6. Mark was very quick to reply to any inquiries. Great host!

Beautiful new and clean villa. Walking distance to the beach. Spacious enough for 2 families with a pool steps from the front door. Make sure to add all names to your reservation so that the host can give all names to guard stand.

To put it simply, Mark’s place is awesome!! The property is just as described or even better and the location is fantastic. The beach club down the street is also amazing, located right on a beautiful beach in front of a great surf spot! Mark is also a great host, very responsive and goes above and beyond to help with recommendations etc. To add to this, we were put into a situation where we needed to check in to Mark’s property a day earlier than our reservation. Mark went out of his way to make sure to accommodate this special request on short notice…..very much appreciated! To summarize….we highly recommend a visit to Hacienda Pinilla and give Mark and his property 5 stars!! Best, Marc, Allison, and family
