Great place to stay. Pancho and Mercedes are very friendly even waiting in the street to greet us for our late arrival. We highly recommend to have them cook a dinner for your group. The place was cleaned every day inside and outside. The back patio is set up to enjoy either full sun or shade. Being from the Seattle area I never left the sun! The pool is a nice cool off spot or if traveling with kids a nice safe area to have them play. The location allows you to go to many of the ruins or the Xplor type adventure parks. Bottom line I highly recommend this home.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home and would happily return. The house is spacious, comfortable, and perfect for families. Mercedes and Pancho, the caretakers who live on site, were absolutely wonderful. They had our groceries ready when we arrived, cooked several delicious meals for us during our stay, and helped with cleaning throughout the week. The casita is very well laid out with two bedrooms downstairs and two upstairs, each with their own bathroom. The rooftop patio is beautiful, and there is a lockable door for safety if traveling with kids. The pool was perfect for our family, and the beach is stunning with white sand and lots of palm trees for shade. Rocky water (water shoes a must) But the snorkeling was great and we saw many fish and even stingrays. It’s a quiet area with not much immediately around, which we actually loved because it made for a very peaceful and relaxing stay. Overall a beautiful home. We would definitely stay again.

Amazing house right on the beach everything was great exactly like described in the pictures. Brittany was amazing communicating and helping us out with all my questions before and during the trip. She was very kind to let us stay after checkout time because our flight was later that night, overall an amazing experience and I would recommend this house to everyone who’s coming to the area

Exceeded our expectations. Our group had 4 adults and 3 kids, three and under. It was perfect for our size and all the amenities made it an even better stay including but not limited to pool, direct beach access, kayaks, snorkeling gear, etc. not to mention the front row seats to the sunrise from every bedroom. With Poncho and Mercedes on the property, this was unlike any other Airbnb I’ve stayed at. They came in and cleaned every day, made beds, brought clean towels, and even did our dishes. They were incredibly attentive and very responsive. Highly recommend this stay, we will definitely be back.

Few AIRBNB's have lived up to the expectations set with the Ad. This one did in every way! What a place! Beautiful, private, relaxing, fun... all the things we hoped for. Then you add the service of Pancho and Mercedes and you're just over the top on satisfaction. Loved Akumal, but this place made it one of our favorite getaways ever!

Excellent place! We had a great time. Everything you need is there and available to use. The pictures are accurate. Mercedes and Poncho are unbelievably helpful. If you choose to buy your own groceries, I would buy them in Cancun/playa del Carmen on the way. Not a ton of options in Akumal. Same if you need to get pesos from an ATM.

Casa Playa del Caribe was truly paradise. The house was beautiful and the location is perfect. We were central to many activities but also had the incredible beach just steps away. The sunrises and sunsets were breathtaking, and we enjoyed watching the pelicans fish right in front of the casa every day. Poncho and Mercedes who care for the house were wonderful, and Mercedes made dinner for us every night. We looked forward to her delicious meals each night. We were already planning our next visit before we even left. Brittany was very responsive and made the entire process easy. I couldn't recommend Casa Playa del Caribe more highly. Cathy

Three couples and our young kiddos came for a family vacation to celebrate a few birthdays. We had a magical time. Pancho & Mercedes were so helpful and Mercedes cooked us chicken fajitas, beans, rice and guacamole which was available when we all arrived (at different times). It was delicious and what we needed after a long travel day. One of our toddlers took to Mercedes and followed her everywhere and they were so sweet together. The house was just like the description. All 4 rooms were separated and had their own bathrooms. Perfect setup for families. The rooms had great working air units. The main living space and kitchen usually had an ocean breeze and you can leave windows and patio doors open for breeze. It was sweaty at times. The pool wasn’t heated. We didn’t even think it would be cold but it was frigid. Luckily the kids and brave dads still swam. The ocean was great for snorkeling, they had all gear you needed! Floats for kids too!

Great house! Great location! Plenty of room to spread out…ocean is right outside the back door!!! There is a half hour walk along the beach to the best beach bar and restaurant wheee we enjoyed a few beers! Pancho and Mercedes were so helpful and friendly. We enjoyed 2 of their home cooked meals and loved them both. Internet was stellar so a couple of us could work without problems. Sunshine all 5 days! Great place to unwind.

Reviews are what I use to book airbnbs so here is mine! If you don’t have time to read everything: Fantastic stay, would go again! - Arrived and used happy shuttle to book our transport for adults and toddler (they had a clean van and provided a car seat) - Two hour ride to the house - They allowed us to do an early check in, I know this doesn’t always work out but it did for us and it was fantastic (especially traveling with a toddler and no rental car) - Pancho and mercedes greeted us with a smile and had the house ready for us with purified water ready to drink! - We unloaded our bags and then walked left out of the house down the beach to have lunch at Jungle Fish - fantastic fresh caught wahoo There is a pool so if you wear your bathing suit you can swim lounge while you wait for food to get ready! Take shoes for the walk - couple of rocky spots… we walked with a toddler so it’s not horrible but I was glad to have my sandals. - Before we went on our walk we gave Mercedes an extensive grocery list and her sweet soul was able to find almost all of it and then also got the stuff to make us dinner that night - 10/10 beef and chicken fajitas with the best guacamole and pico I have ever had (and I’ve been to Mexico before!) Day 2: - Pancho was up at 6 am cleaning the beach and pool area for us! - Several men cleaning the seaweed from entire stretch of beach … heavy seaweed right at the edge, obviously no control over this. We brought water shoes to help enter water where there is coral and seaweed. They have EVERYTHING you need to play in water - snorkels, goggles, kayaks, paddle boards, boat shoes, kids pool toys, a couple kid and adult life vest, and floats! We brought mostly everything from home, but didn’t need to. - Super cozy beach loungers! - Second grocery run made by pancho and Mercedes’ cooked garlic shrimp for us on night two for dinner … it was even better than the fajitas! - Showers — HOT WATER AND AWESOME WATER PRESSURE 🙌🏻 Day 3: - Rainy day - pancho and Mercedes’ did another grocery run…. Played card games and watched TV all day.. we made pizzas for dinner. Day 4: - Much less seaweed! Floated and snorkeled in the bay…. Hung out in the pool. We made pizzas for dinner that Pancho picked up for us at the grocery store. Recommend you just have them cook because the pizzas were not great haha ! I would make a list at the beginning of the week to save yourself money for each grocery run. - Went to dinner at La Lunita - it was FANTASTIC!!! So delicious, check them out. We used “Shuttle Service Akumal”- they were affordable ($50 round trip from house to restaurant) and reliable and we felt safe. We opted NOT to rent a car so it was a little planning to get a ride. Pancho has a friend that can shuttle you around but his rate was higher so we went with this company and they were good for us (so we ended up using a couple of times) Day 5: - arranged a shuttle through same service, requested Jorge - they took us to XelHa park where we hung out from 8 am to 6 pm! - Came home and made sandwiches for dinner because we had already eaten a lot at the park Day 6: - Beautiful ocean - crystal clear with not a speck of sea weed …. Hung out at the house, snorkeled alllll day! - Shuttles to La Lunita again for dinner because it was so delicious (used same shuttle) Day 7: Came back to US - pancho and Mercedes’ sat in the drive way and waved goodbye as we pulled away. The sweetest people! Added: we kept our bedrooms cool (AC on, blinds closed, doors closed…. but the living spaces were warm (because you are in Cancun obviously) - so pack light clothes to sit around the house in….. we left the doors open most of the time because the breeze off the ocean felt great!

Staying at this house was a great decision. The views from the roof are simply espectacular. The house is very clean, spacious and confortable, the kitchen is well equipped. This house has everything you need to have fun, Kayaks, paddle boars, snorkel masks, beach towels and everything for the pool as well. We didn’t want to leave ☺️. The best part of this stay were the hosts Mercedes and Pancho, they are very nice people. They go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need and make sure the house is very clean all the time. They also cooked for us and the meal was delicious!!! They helped us with the tours to Isla mujeres and mentioned what places to visit. We rented a car and were able to visit many places since the house is in a central location from many attractions. During our stay something very exciting happened. We saw baby turtles being born and Mercedes and Pancho showed us how they directed them to the ocean. It was an amazing experience for our kids and us. This stay was absolutely amazing and I recommend it to anyone looking for a family friendly house outside of the craziness of the city. We had a fantastic stay in a very beautiful house.
