The reception was incredibly warm – we felt completely comfortable from the first moment. The place is just a paradise, we couldn't have imagined it more beautiful. In the middle of the fantastic nature, surrounded by different animals – an absolute feel-good place. The breakfast was excellent and prepared with a lot of love. Our well-being was taken care of, even a tour guide was organized for us. An unforgettable stay – we'll definitely be back!

Giselle was very attentive and very friendly and I greatly facilitate all the necessary procedures to move in the place favoring us all the necessary contacts. Very helpful. Highly recommended stay

Giselle is a warm person who was attentive and considerate, always ready to help if necessary in the organization of activities, call you a water taxi that arrives in 5 minutes. A nice immersion in the forest. The bungalows are comfortable. Great typical breakfast.

We arrived at the hotel after a beautiful journey from the airstrip via a taxi boat (literally the only way to access the hotel) and we were welcomed warmly by Giselle. She described the layout and amenities of the hotel in detail and showed us to our room. She also help arrange some guided tours for us which were among the main highlights of our trip to Costa Rica. The rooms are a series of cabins connected by a raised walkway through the jungle, a truly beautiful setting. The rooms are spacious and have only mosquito nets for windows which wrap around most of the cabin making it feel like you’re sleeping in the jungle. Breakfast was freshly prepared and delicious. The only things that made our stay a little uncomfortable was the small temperamental bathroom that needed a bit of TLC and having to use the pool and bar at the hotel next door (ours we’re out of order) which had an unnecessarily complicated method of selling drinks to us as we weren’t guests there.

We were looking forward to staying in the jungle and also no excessive expectations regarding comfort. Rana Roja is a pretty big hotel with lots of cottages in the forest. Unfortunately, the hotel, at least our cottage, has been behind its best times for a long time. A bed is already broken apart when sitting on it, but was then quickly fixed. Bathroom was very “basic” with apparently very ferrous, poorly smelling water, fixtures rusty, shower tray totally discolored. The pool shown was not well maintained and so not usable, the bar shown was never occupied, no fridge in operation. Since Giselle just received a tour group of 40 upon our arrival and was then not available, we unfortunately only learned much later that we were also allowed to use the bar, the pool and the restaurant of the neighboring hotel. It was significantly newer and more well-maintained. Giselle was kind overall but inaccessible to our complaints!

Wonderful place in the rain forest! Nice people, accommodating and friendly. You'll sleep in the rainforest, the sounds of the jungle all around you, including howler monkeys.

We had a lovely time in Gisèle's place, it's another lovely and efficient one. The setting is also beautiful. Definitely recommended .

We greatly enjoyed our time at Rana Roja. We wanted the experience of staying in the rainforest, and very much got that. Just outside our cabin we saw monkeys, frogs, turtles, and more. The pools and bars were great for relaxing, and the hostess was very friendly and helpful for scheduling transportation, tours, etc.

We loved our stay in Tortuguero. Giselle is super responsive and helpful. Loved the Capuchin Monkeys that visited the premises. The canal front bar is delightful but had limited bar service while we were there. The highlight of our entire trip to Costa Rica was our kayak excursions here. Unfortunately the kayaks that were included were damaged but we were able to rent them from the adjoining resort. Overall a very lovely place and experience.

Rana Roja is in a stunning location. We saw monkeys and other animals while walking around the lodge. The space was comfortable and clean and the jungle sounds were great to fall asleep to. The Rana Roja bar closes a bit early but the neighbouring lodge has one that is open a little later. I never met Giselle but Giovany met us at arrival and provided us with a welcome drink and assisted us with any questions we had. Check in was smooth. Check out was a little confusing but we had no issues in the end. Would highly recommend! :)

This was a fun place, it was nice to be in the quite jungle listening to the animals. It was super easy to take a 3 minute boat taxi around the corner to the small town of Tortuguero, Giselle and her staff were so helpful arranging things for us!

It has been wonderful, we have been treated phenomenally by both the host and all the staff. We loved the lakefront bar, beautiful place, the delicious cocktails and the very friendly bartender.
