Janet’s place is amazing! The open floor plan is perfect for enjoying all the area has to offer. We had a family of monkeys that visited us daily. There was a sloth that came one day. We are just a few steps from a very private beach. The bedrooms are perfect! We will stay here again.

We’ve been coming to Chiquita Escondida at least once a year for the last 6 years, always a pleasure and Janet and Nick are model hosts. No better location for enjoying peace and the beach, tons of great food nearby, and everybody we’ve ever taken with us has wanted to go again if they haven’t already.

This home is an oasis in paradise. Everything you need for a getaway on the beach - it’s right here. Janet was super-helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. The fact that all ten of is fit in luxury was almost a bonus!

This was the most magical place to stay especially if you LOVE being literally IN nature. Like living in a literal treehouse. Felt like a kid. So much amazing wildlife that passes through the property. All of the vegetation was amazing and beautiful. Nick and Janet were so welcoming and we felt right at home. Will definitely be coming back.

We stayed for a wonderful month in this jungle retreat so its understandable that some things needed attention. Great thought was put into the placement of cabins and common space. There is plenty of space for everyone along with the privacy of your own cabin. The grounds needed constant maintenance which it lacked while we were there. We had a lot of rain so the large common area was a great retreat. The ever changing shoreline is just fifty yards away down the path and so much wildlife to see right from your lounge chair around the pool... no need to pay for tours to see sloths, monkeys, macaws, toucans, agoutis, iguanas and golden orb weaver spiders!! Janet and Nick were great hosts and were so responsive to all of our questions or needs.... they live right next door!

I loved all the separate sleeping space with coffee and tea in each one. The shower and bathrooms were great. Falling asleep to the waves each night was relaxing. We had monkeys and sloths sighting from the pool area a few days. The common space with kitchen is spacious yet cozy the way Janet design it. All the furniture is comfortable. Beach is really close and not busy. We had a lot of waves which depends on the time of year. Janet and Nick are great hosts. I hope to return and highly recommend.

Beat our expectations! The ocean sounds were relaxing and provided a great backdrop to the wildlife and fantastic surroundings. The beach was empty and beautiful! We will definitely consider returning. Janet was fantastic and this spot exceeded the pics and description. When we arrived we couldn't believe it was all ours!

We went searching for wildlife, such as monkeys, parrots, and sloths, and in the end we saw way more, just sitting around the pool than anywhere else. If you're looking for a private abode, nestled in the jungle right at a pristine and private beach, you won't be disappointed. Additionally, the host was super friendly, responsive, and always going out of her way to improve our stay. For the two weeks that my family stayed, the ocean was a wild untamed surfers paradise. There's no shortage of nearby, great restaurants, and plenty of shopping and other things to do in the nearby Puerto Viejo, simultaneously you feel removed from it all in the calm, quiet, Playa Chiquita. As long as you're going in with the understanding that The abodes are cooled by fans, not Air conditioning and somewhat open to the elements, you will love the accommodations and feel lucky to have found them. This is a great space for medium size groups or a large family like mine.

Steps off the beach, private, absolutely perfect for our girls retreat so we could all have our space and have community space also! The wildlife and beach sounds are amazing (and creepy) remember you are in the jungle. This is really jungle meets beach!!! The recommendations and help coordinating was so appreciated and helpful. We flew into Limon rather than drove 4 hours. We walked to several restaurants and the rescue center. We had a chef cook for us one night. We had a tuk-tuk take us to the places when we didn't want to walk. River kayaking in Punta Uva was an absolute worthwhile!

When I think of what I’m looking for from an Airbnb, great location, welcoming host, and something you can’t get from a hotel. This place nailed it. Janet and Nick were fantastic. They were responsive, and so welcoming. Something small, but that utterly stood out to us. Janet came over at one point to check in and while doing that, she took the time to go through a book of animals in Costa Rica with my youngest who is 8 years old. They went page by page and had an amazing conversation. The place was great, no complaints.

Welcomed my family warmly. Gave good suggestions and ideas.

Janet and Nick are lovely hosts who gave us a very friendly welcome. The cleaning staff had worked very hard to turn the property around for us after a large group departed. They did an excellent job and everything felt fresh and inviting. Little touches in the property like an abundance of towels, sarongs, mosquito repellant, body lotions, shampoos etc were hugely appreciated by us all. The property has a lovely open air kitchen with everything you need to cook easily. The beds were heavenly in all the cabinas, everybody slept so well to the sound of the waves. Great hot water supply. The sandy beach was a couple of minutes stroll away and a great place to sit with a cup of coffee in the mornings as other guests have mentioned. We were also able to light a beachside fire in the evenings which was very atmospheric. Lots of wildlife entertained us all. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend it.

This is such a wonderful find, we had the beach to ourselves, were able to see lots of birds, sloth, monkeys. Will definitely come back here!
