Maythemi

Staying in Casa Marisol with my family was a truly wonderful experience! We enjoyed the nearby beach, and our close proximity to Puerto Viejo. The house itself is beautiful and very spacious. The hosts were very communicative, and helped make our trip go smoothly. We highly recommend staying here!

This house is unique. Not just because of the architecture and the stylish decor. The garden and the animals in it, the pavilion with the yoga teacher on Mondays and Fridays, the beach and the sound of the sea to fall asleep and the unparalleled hospitality of Maythemi have made it an unforgettable experience for our family including baby. Thank you for having us. We highly recommend it!

Maythemi was truly a super host. Husband Kalani met us in person at check-in and explained details of the house and property. Home was beautiful and welcoming with fresh flowers placed throughout the home with coconuts in the refrigerator and ground coffee provided. Having filtered water was a big plus not having to buy bottled water. Provided beach towels, chairs and cooler which made going to the beach comfortable. They brought us fresh produce from their farm and when my partner was sick, Maythemi came by with ginger root, lime and honey to make a tea that miraculously helped. Property is located across the street from a very nice and less crowded beach. Enjoyed watching the resident sloth and other birds and animals that would roam around the property. Town is just a short drive away with lots of restaurants and fun activities. The whole family was lovely and helpful for what we needed throughout our 2 week stay. Highly recommend this place.

We got there a couple of hours late but Maythemi’s husband waited for us. Everything was great. No wonder it was advertised as one of the favorites. I would highly recommend. Maythemi also offered us a late check out without us asking for it.

This place was perfect for our family of 5 wanting to be around Puerto Viejo. Very big private yard, just a few steps from the nearly private Playa Negro for swimming. Maythemi provided towels and beach chairs, making it very easy. On site full size washer was very handy. A few restaurants walking distance, and downtown Viejo was less than 5 minutes away by car. Grocery, bank, pharmacy, gas station all close. If you are reading this you already know you are interested in Puerto Viejo, and this place will not disappoint. We had a sloth living in the tree inside the property, and we had fun every day observing how much they moved from one day to the next. Maythemi gave a sheet with phone numbers to various excursions, which we used. We cooked 1-2 meals every day, and the full size kitchen with full size fridge made that part easy. We stayed a week, and they had the cleaning service come in 3 days into our stay to refresh the linens, tidy up, etc. Highly recommended.

We had an incredible, memorable stay at Maythemi, Kalani, and Kalil's home. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The house was spotless, nicely decorated with a charming island vibe, and had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. We loved starting our mornings with coffee on the veranda overlooking the beautifully landscaped front yard. The beachside location was perfect with close proximity to Puerto Viejo and the magnificent area beaches, restaurants, and attractions. Our hosts were exceptional, they were delightful, always responsive to our needs and questions, and full of great recommendations for making the most of our vacation. This stay was amazing and we can't wait wait to get back to Maythemi, Kalani, and Kalili's slice of paradise in the future.

The house is big and airy and very comfortable. The photos are very accurate, if anything the place is better. Full kitchen and well equipped. Maythemi and her family are excellent hosts, kind, attentive and welcoming. It’s a fabulous place.

Everything about Maythemi’s setting is wonderful! The communication was outstanding, the house is perfect, the yard is secluded and calm, and we were steps away from a nearly private beach. Additionally, Kalani and Maythem walked us around the property, pointing out three different sloths and a huge male iguana. The restaurant, kayak, and national park guidance was excellent. They are the best!!!! Can’t wait to return

I cannot say enough about this place. It is beautiful, comfortable, clean, close to the beach, and close to the town. Actually, the beach is steps away, less than a 1-minute walk. And it is an incredible beach, more serene and more beautiful than the others we went to. The interior design of the house is super-cool, and the home is equipped with all the amenities anyone could possibly want. (Towels by Kenneth Cole, appliances by Frigidaire. Everything is really nice.) Outside there is a beautiful big lawn with many impressive tropical trees. It is a great place - comfortable, relaxing and beautiful. I highly recommend it. Maythemi is wonderful - attentive, friendly, and welcoming.

We loved our stay! The house was very comfortable and in a great, private area. It was just my husband and me, and we had lots of space. The upstairs bedrooms are air-conditioned and picturesque--think polished wooden floors, lots of windows, beautiful bedding and comfy beds. The bathrooms were roomy and had plenty of hot water in the showers which had great pressure. The complimentary soaps, shampoos, etc. were very appreciated. The kitchen has everything you need to cook your own meals. Coffee is provided as well as fresh coconut water. Oh, and fresh fruit! Our host swung by with a variety of produce which we loved for its freshness and flavor. We were unbothered by mosquitoes! The beach is accessed by a little path and is a very relaxing place to kick back. The hosts provide chairs, towels, and a cooler--we had a picnic there one day and also took long walks on the mostly deserted beach. The waves are mesmerizing and will lull you to sleep. We hope to stay here again!

Great place! Right across the street from beach access to playa negra. Far enough from puerto viejo to be away from the craziness but close enough to be able to walk on the beach right to the town center. Maythemi was a great host!

Maythemi is an excellent host with great communications before and during our stay. The house is beautiful and comfortable with all anyone would need for 6 or more people. Large master and very nice second and third bedrooms. Baths are comfortable with nice large showers. We did not use the kitchen for cooking and instead opted for nearly all of Maythemi's excellent dining recommendations but it's a modern kitchen with everything needed for preparing/enjoying family meals and there is more than one grocery nearby. The beach is 100 meters away and the wonderful sounds of the surf fill the house day and night. The neighborhood is a 3 minute drive or bike ride to the center of lively Puerto Viejo and provides a nice 'get away' with privacy at end of the day. Maythemei was a call or text away for dining and excursion recommendations and very responsive. Puerto Viejo has many very good dining/bar options and was an ideal exploration home base. We will return to this house!

We enjoyed five fabulous days here. Lush garden surroundings. Plenty of room to stretch out plus a semi private separate work space. 45 second walk to black sand beach and twenty minute walk to town along the beach. Beautifully appointed authentic tropical home. The host family is extremely kind and responsive.
