Carillo was perfect. The pool was paramount after the hot commute back-and-forth via the public bus to and fro Samara. My only comment is be proactive against the ants that are everywhere! Especially in the kitchen. Do not leave food unattended, always clean up immediately after food preparation.

Warm welcome and communication with son David. Great location: several restaurants within walking distance, beautiful and quiet beach within walking distance. The view is fantastic. Nice spaces with A/C. You can spot many animals in the garden (monkeys, red parrots, hummingbirds, geckos, a type of kingfisher, toads, etc.). Thank you for a pleasant stay!

We had an incredible stay at Casa Pericos. Top of our list was a view and beautiful outdoor space, and this place delivered. The outdoor patio is so beautiful with numerous seating options and nice furniture. The pool is beautifully situated to enjoy the view while cooling off on the bar stools. The view: two houses only, the rest is forest and ocean. The birds were incredible, including daily visits from scarlet macaws. The house itself is aging and not fancy. While the kitchen is the best part, the bathrooms are rudimentary. The AC in the bedrooms was very necessary and welcome (95 degrees each day). We found the beds basic but comfortable. Issues: the grill didn't work and the fridge leaked. The rooster next door wakes at 3:30 am. But, greeting day break on the top balcony with the birds and the howler monkeys calling across the canyon more than made up for it. And Playa Carrillo is incredible. Bring hammocks to lounge among the coconut trees!

Had an amazing time at casa pericos with my family of 6, including 4 adults and 2 kids. The views were excellent, the accommodation comfortable, and the wildlife plenty. The house manager, david, was super easy to communicate with and provided tips on things to do and places to see. He even provided beach chairs for the house prior to our arrival. Overall , a great vacation at casa pericos.

Love seeing and hearing all the birds, lizards, butterflies and monkeys. Beautiful trees surrounding the property and an unspoiled view of the bay. The home is pretty clean with tropical decor and has a very relaxed vibe. The pool is nice and kitchen well-stocked. The 2 main floor bedrooms looked good but the main shortfall was that the mattresses were very uncomfortable. The upstairs bedroom with balcony could use some window coverings to block the sun and the light from the ground floor, also to make it more private. All in all, we had a wonderful time there.

Very nice place, good location, Playa Carillo within walking distance, less than 5 minutes, large beach with lots of shade and easy parking. The accommodation was spotless and so well equipped, towels in large quantities, dishwasher, fridge with ice and water dispenser. Pool maintenance twice a week provided by the host. Simple communication with David, quick response, he helped us schedule a shuttle to the airport. All bedrooms have their own air conditioning. The most beautiful sunsets we had in Costa Rica from our private terrace. I'd go back anytime.

We had an amazing time! The location is perfect with great access to the small town amenities and wonderful restaurants of playa Carillo with a five minute walk to the beach (stroller friendly!) and short drive to Samara. The town is tiny but the food options were really tasty. We were a group of two families with two toddlers and two babies - the pool and deck were perfect and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Responsiveness from the host was also top notch- we messaged about propane and 5 minutes later had a new tank delivered. The wildlife from the property was incredible and the sunsets were spectacular. Also, shout out to Samara Adventures, we had excellent experiences with the dolphin tour and hiring a fishing boat. We hope to come back one day!!

We loved Casa Pericos. We were a group of 6 adults and the house and pool was perfect for our group. We have visited Playa Carrillo several times so we know the area well. The location was ideal; far enough off of the road for privacy and to help get our steps in. But close enough to the beach and 3 wonderful restaurants; Chez Nous, La Puesta, and of course, El Colibri to get your meat on. All with their own unique charm. Also a very nice gas grill that we made good use of. We saw monkeys and Macaws every day. You couldn’t ask for a nicer view of the wildlife and the ocean. We loved the spacious deck that overlooks everything. For the cost and value, we would definitely book again for a large group.

Beautiful home in a great area, 5 minute walk to the beach. The home was kept clean by the housekeeper and the host did a good job throughout. A/C in all the bedrooms was a lifesaver. Definitely would stay again.

Wow! 5 star, absolutely perfect. This place was a slice of paradise. Our family of 7 had an unforgettable stay at this incredible Airbnb in Costa Rica. The location was perfect—close to the beach yet surrounded by lush jungle, making us feel completely immersed in nature. We saw so much wildlife (family of howler monkeys, and many birds) right from the back porch. Beautiful views from this property! This place is exactly as advertised. 5 min walk to the most stunning beach Playa Carrillo The home itself was spotless and spacious, with comfortable furniture and plenty of room for everyone. The fully equipped kitchen made meal prep easy, and the pool was clean and refreshing. The host was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay and He recommended local activities to do. If you’re looking for a relaxing, quiet place nestled in trees and close to beach this is the perfect place. Highly recommend!

We stayed as a family of 5 in Costa Rica for 2 weeks in a few different cities. This area and this airbnb was our favorite! We loved that once you get to the house, it feels completely private and surrounded by lush greenery, but you can walk to amazing restaurants and the beach in 5-10 minutes. (El Colibri ended up being our favorite nearby) We used the kitchen a lot and it was well stocked with anything we might need. There were plenty of pillows, extra bedding & blankets. Our kids loved the upstairs bedrooms and additional deck just for them. The outside area and the views, being surrounded by beautiful plants and animals & overlooking the ocean and sunset was the best. There are so many different kinds of birds that come right up to the deck. Our last 2 days, a big family of howler monkeys hung out in the trees just next to the house. If you are a light sleeper, you might want to bring ear plugs as the animal sounds go all through the night as well. We loved our stay!

We are extremely excited about this house. We would love to stay there. It is quiet, the view with terrace and pool a dream. We slept wonderfully and felt very comfortable. The kitchen is ideal for cooking. It has everything you need. We were overjoyed every time we saw animals. A really nice house. Thank you
