We are very familiar with the area and this was by far the best place we have found around Dominical / Uvita / Ojochal. We absolutely LOVED it. Glorious location, authentic feel, lots of birds and animals. Perfect for families. We would be happy to return year after year.

Words can’t describe how much we loved and enjoyed our stay. Everything was perfect. It was peaceful and beautiful. We saw so much wildlife right from the back patio and the home was clean and extremely comfortable for our large group of 8 (two families). The location was perfect. Easy to get to a grocery store, downtown Dominical, coffee shops and restaurants. 7 minutes from playa Dominicalito which was our favorite beach. We also spent a day in Uvita which was a quick drive and so much fun. All in all, this was our favorite spot of our Costa Rica vacation and we will absolutely be back! P.S. we booked massages from the person recommended by the host and they came to the house which was SO nice and some of the best massages we’ve ever had.

Awesome trip, house was beautiful with gorgeous views. Definitely take the recommended advice and make sure to get a 4wheel drive. Had a wonderful experience. Highly recommend requesting Gabby, every meal she prepared was amazing!!

I can't speak highly enough about staying in Villa Colibri. It really is a dream. The house itself is spacious with a wonderful flow and great outside living spaces. We spent many happy hours drinking coffee, cooking in the outdoor kitchen and watching the stars while listening to the waves from the bay below. It has a great vibe and also feels very luxurious. We had many wonderful visitors including monkeys, toucans, macaws and hummingbirds. Just a few minutes down the road was a great café and a yoga shala. Dominical and its amenities are not far away. Just a word of caution - be careful not to park on the Main Street in Dominical or you might have your number plates taken by the traffic police! Dominicalito bay is lovely - but watch out for rocks at low tide. Gaby, the caretaker was beyond helpful to our group and was very much appreciated. All in all, I was sad to leave and I really hope we will be back one day.

You definitely need a 4x4 to get up the driveway, but once you get to the villa it is truly spectacular! 10/10 would recommend. We are already dreaming about a return visit. Unbelievable views, beautiful home, amazing outdoor space and pool, and super friendly local staff!! We saw amazing toucans and monkeys and had some incredible sunsets. Also super close to Domical and Uvita!

I've stayed in other places that required 4WD vehicles and gotten away with 2WD. Not here. We ended up parking on the side of the rode and climbing 10 minutes up hill. Make sure Avis doesn't lie to you about your car bing 4WD. That aside, the view is lovely. It is a bit of a trek to get up/down the mountain to the main road. I timed it at about six minutes, but it feels like more. The windows have screens so you can get nice air flow without the bugs. The outdoor dining was also great.

The house was absolutely stunning. It was very accommodating for the family. It felt secluded but not far from everything you need. Gabby the housekeeper was extremely helpful and tentative. I’m a builder and there’s things I seen in the house that I’d love to bring back to the states!

This beautiful home has the most amazing view of the ocean, and is set in the jungle with complete privacy and wonderful nature sounds. We were greeted by all types of creatures: various birds (including a toucan that visited us daily), MANY capuchin monkeys hanging out right by our balcony, frogs, caterpillars, butterflies, and many more. The pool was so refreshing after a day out and about, and Gaby and Paloma always made sure to take care of anything we needed. You couldn’t ask for a nicer place to stay or a better experience. We hope to be back! Thanks again!

Truly an amazing house and property! We loved our stay here. It's high up on a hill and takes a good 5+ minutes of an off road incline to get there but once you do it is beautiful. You are secluded, in the rainforest, with a spectacular view. The pool is wonderful but note there is no hot tub. Everyone had a nice sized and clean bedroom and bathroom. We had a lot of mostly cloud days so the hot water was quite minimal. But aside from that you will love this house. Gaby stopped by each afternoon and freshened things up which was very nice! Maria allowed us to check-in early as they didn't have a guest the night before. And we loved the town of Dominical. It's small but has some great restaurants and a few nice shops. We ate at Phat Noodle, Fuego Brewery, and Cafe Mono Congo (all great). And the location between Uvita, Quepos, and Nuayaca waterfall (see this!) is great! We had a toucan visit us nearly everyday and saw some interesting creatures (like a 6"+ grasshopper).

Maria’s place was exactly as described. It was located in the middle of the rain forest and so authentic to Costa Rica. A true immersive experience. Gabby was a godsend. Someone in our group got sick and she was so helpful. As a side note, we discovered an excellent restaurant nearby, Crocodile Grill. Highly recommend staying at Maria’s place in the mountain for a genuine Costa Rican experience.

Maria was a responsive host and very concerned about the smooth running of our stay. Before she gave us plenty of advice and answered all our questions about the area, during the stay she sincerely cared about us and our well-being.

Magic spot - brilliantly equipped and fantastic space.

This was easily my favorite Air BnB our family of 6 has ever stayed in (and we’ve stayed in many). You do need a 4x4 vehicle to access it but the uphill climb to the house is worth it! Incredible views, beautiful surroundings, and a wonderful home await you at this home. And Gaby is wonderful!! She cleaned our place each day, made us breakfast one morning, and even made cupcakes with my girls one afternoon. My family is still talking about this place and Gaby and how much we miss it. You won’t regret your stay at this home. Thank you, Maria, for a wonderful stay. We made memories that will last forever.

Stunning home! Perfect for our three families to share. Kids LOVED the pool, playhouse and all of the toys and games. Gaby (the housekeeper) is an absolute gem - so sweet and an amazing cook! We were cool enough in the main house with the doors and windows open with ceiling fans running and the AC in the bedrooms was perfect for the evening to cool off and sleep comfortably. We will definitely be returning!!!

Villa Colibri is a wonderful retreat, high in the jungle, with an outstanding view overlooking the ocean! Being at the villa was a vacation in itself, and would have sufficed for the entire trip. The pool is perfectly sized located to enjoy a morning, noon or night swim. The patio provided the perfect opportunity for sun, shade and memories. One of our best days was spent at the house the entire day, relaxing and enjoying the scenery. We enjoyed daily visits by the toucans and some monkeys, there's an abundance of wildlife all around. Paloma was excellent to respond and provide information, and Gaby was diligent and very helpful :) We had 2 excellent meals by Gaby, which we highly recommend to include as part of your stay. You will not regret a stay at Villa Colibri... it is a true delight!

It felt magical up in the mountains, the wildlife was abundant, the home had an open air set up. The bedrooms were perfect for our family of 7. I would highly recommend Gabi for a prepared dinner, it was delicious and the presentation was beautiful. We were all adults but the property would work well for family with little ones. Highly recommend this property

Stunning views and gorgeous home! We had an incredible trip and Gabi was so kind and welcoming. The house and pool were so incredibly beautiful and we had so many great nights hanging out on the pool deck, cooking dinner and watching the sunset. Highly recommend a 4WD as the road up is dirt and requires a bit of oomph.

Amazing accommodations !

Villa Colibri is stunning, beautiful views in quiet surroundings. The animals are the closest neighbors. The villa is located high up with great opportunities for challenging walks up and down. It contains many useful things, so you can cook on your own, among other things. Lovely outdoor area with barbecue, plenty of space for both coziness and dining and not least the pool. Gaby and Christian who fit the house are very welcoming and helpful.

Thank you Maria the place was worth every penny and the view was even better than the photos. Our family group of 9 including a 3 yr old and 1 yr old felt right at home and had an incredible week! Plenty of things to do in the area or just relax around the pool with the family and play board games. Paloma was very responsive and extremely helpful with instructions and things to do in the area. We loved the meal Gaby made for us and keeping the house in tip top shape - we miss her already! Our hike with Christian on the property will be very memorable. The views were spectacular. The house was well equipped with everything we needed for our vacation. We enjoyed listening to the ocean and watching the toucans. The staff is very friendly.

Our stay was magical! We saw all sorts of animals and birds while enjoying time by the gorgeous pool. Our party of 4 adults and 5 children had plenty of space to spread out and gather as a group. Take the advice in the listing and get the 4x4. The roads are steep, but easy to navigate as long as you have the right vehicle! Any little issues we had were quickly handled! Gabby was amazing and did such a nice tidy up for us each day. Paloma helped us book a fantastic snorkeling tour before arrival. Best stay of our two weeks in Costa Rica!

We spent unforgettable moments as a family in the Villa. We were able to observe animals and insects while enjoying the view and pool. This Villa has no equal. Its configuration allows you to enjoy nature in every room. We were a short drive away from all the activities we wanted to do. Thanks to our hosts.

Villa Colibri exceeded our expectations. It is a beautiful, cozy home with incredible views of the ocean and jungle. We visited during the rainy season and loved being able to keep the windows open to hear the rain. The pool was perfect for our kids and they loved all the unique wildlife that made a friendly appearance. The house is close to many fantastic restaurants and activities in Dominical and Uvita. Paloma, the property manager, and Gaby, the caretaker, were both so wonderful and responsive. I can’t recommend this rental more highly! Our family would definitely stay here again. A 4x4 vehicle made accessing this home much easier (especially during the rainy season).

We had an amazing stay here at Maria's home. The views are absolutely stunning - even better than the photos! The drive is no joke - really do get the 4x4, but completely accessible with it. So private and quiet with all the sounds of the jungle - we were so happy with our stay as three adults and 4 kids. Pool and the playhouse was a big hit with the kids and we loved searching for wildlife! Carmen is the caretaker and she was so kind and helpful. Really a gem! And so close to our favorite beach, Playa Dominicalito. If you're on the fence about it - here is your sign to book this place!!

Villa Colibri was exactly as described and shown in the photos. Maria, Paloma, Gabby and Christian are all extremely helpful and responsive. The home is situated in the mountainside jungle with a stunningly beautiful view from the patio. Our family of five loved our stay. There are many places within a short drive to visit as well as many very good restaurants. I would note that the recommended 4x4 vehicle is something you should heed. We have already talked about a return trip to Villa Colibri.

We had a truly serene stay at this private house nestled in the jungle near Dominical, Costa Rica. The location offers a breathtaking view of the ocean, which we enjoyed daily from the comfort of our secluded getaway. About a 10-minute drive from the town, the journey up to the house is a bit steep, but absolutely worth it for the peace and privacy it affords. The house features a beautiful swimming pool where we relaxed and unwound surrounded by nature’s soundtrack. It’s the perfect spot for anyone looking to disconnect and rejuvenate. What made our stay exceptionally comfortable was the wonderful couple who reside there year-round. Gaby was incredibly helpful. Despite its secluded feel, the house is conveniently close to Dominical, making it easy to pop into town whenever we wanted. If you’re looking for a quiet retreat that combines privacy with breathtaking natural beauty, this place is a fantastic choice.

Villa Colibri..We had the absolute best experience at this property. It was exactly what I was looking for in a location in Costa Rica. It has a laid back atmosphere with a breathtaking view of the forest canopies and ocean. Pictures and videos do not do this property justice. Wildlife was all around us; we saw toucans, lizards, butterflies, whitefaced monkeys, and so much more while just sitting at the beautiful property. One of our favorite things to do was relaxing in the pool and looking out at the view. The location was perfect, just a short drive down the hill into Dominical or Uvita. We had so many beaches to choose from daily. I enjoy surfing and got to choose from different levels of surf at the many beaches in the area. We really enjoyed the town of Dominical- a great vibe and several good places to eat. The home/ property were also set up perfectly for a family which was important for us on this trip. It made us feel safe with having our busy 2 year old son. 12 out of 10!

We had the most wonderful stay, with memories to last a lifetime! We were a large family, including two young children, and there was plenty of space and room. The playhouse and the kids room was perfect. We spent nearly every day in the pool overlooking the beautiful beach. It really felt so private and peaceful, like our own little oasis. The road to the home is very steep, will need a 4x4, but once you are up there the views are spectacular. We enjoyed the nearby Domincalito beach, as well as Uvita/WhaleTale not too far away. The place was very clean and spacious, and we will definitely visit again next time we are in Costa Rica! We were so happy with our stay and we were very sad to leave! Thank you for the hospitality!

I only waited until we got home because words can't capture how magical this home is. It is truly a home. We had 3 young women with us (18, 17, and 27). My partners daughter and her friend, and his step daughter. All massive feelers of all things life and this place became a cocoon and oasis for them. All are performers and it because a place of creation, art, music, performance, and true connection. We surfed every day at Dominicalita (only a 7 minute drive down the hill), picked up local coconut water at the beach (the body's healing magic), picked up groceries at the local market down the hill (the BEST BEST BEST and not to be missed), and made all of our meals in the perfect kitchen. We only ate out a few nights which was the only hard part because driving at night around there is not for the faint of heart. In the end don't look any further. This house is PERFECT for you and. your family. THANK YOU!

Staying at this jungle retreat was an unforgettable experience! The house was amazing, nestled in the lush greenery with breathtaking views. The indoor/outdoor spaces were beautifully designed. We even spotted monkeys from the kitchen window and enjoyed the company of gorgeous birds. Gaby’s cooking was exceptional, and María was incredibly attentive to all our needs throughout our stay. Having a yoga studio nearby with a fantastic cafe added to the charm of this incredible getaway. We can’t wait to return!

This place is fabulous! It is big, private and close to nature. You can watch the toucans in the evening while swimming in the pool. The beach and mountain views are breathtaking. The kitchen is large and there is indoor and outdoor dining and lounging spaces. The staff is very friendly and responsive. We will go back.

The Villa was exactly what it is described as in the listing but the view is even better in real life. The house was fully stocked and very clean. The outside space is so inviting! Paloma was very responsive and helpful with questions. She helped us arrange a chef for the first night which was out of this world after a very long day of travel. The only thing I would even have a comment about is that it is a little tricky to find in the dark. We did not anticipate arriving after dark but we did and it was slightly hard to find. That was not Paloma's fault, once we found it once it was not problem at all, but a heads up - at night it is tricky. But upon arrival we were thrilled. Gaby met us at the door and showed us around. She is so sweet and very helpful ( a few words in Spanish goes a long way). We had a wonderful visit and would certainly recommend this home. Pura Vita

Maria’s place was the most beautiful and scenic spot I’ve ever stayed. From the help staff to Maria herself, everyone was attentive and easy to work with. I would definitely love to stay at this slice of heaven on my next trip out here.

Villa Colibri has the BEST accommodations in Costa Rica! The caretakers were so friendly, the home was immaculate, very private and stocked with everything we could need. We would definitely stay again!

The pictures in AirBnB are pretty inspiring, nevertheless, they do not do justice to how it really looks and feels. The view, the decoration, the distribution, how well equipped and greatly maintained it is, the cleanliness, and the property overall (jungle & house) is top notch. The house really shows the love, dedication and good taste the owners have put into it, which also reflects into how great of a hosts they are. They made sure we had everything we needed before and during our stay. An amazing couple that lives in a separated house took care of everything we needed. It is also worth mentioning that within the property (15 hectares / 37 acres) there’s trails to discover. The location is perfect since it is within the jungle mountain, with a view, and really safe, while still being a few minutes away from several amazing beaches (surfing, relaxing, all nature intensive options), great restaurants, groceries…anything you need is really close.
