Spacious apartment in a convenient location away from the touristy area. Enjoyed the access to the rooftop - was a great place to enjoy the sunset. Walking distance to great amenities and attractions (check out the rainbow stairs and lookout points) all a short walk away.

Kay apartments is great if you want the real island experience!’n A little far from el centro but still worth it. I would recommend to get a golf cart because the heat is strong. However, the apartment compensated for how much we had to travel from one place to another. The air conditioner at the apartment was wonderful and definitely helped a lot. The places to eat around the apartment are the real real island and Mexican experience. Lots of local places that are just wonderful and not touristy. We also got to know the north and south of the island since the apartment is in the middle. Kasie is just wonderful!!!

Self-service check-in and check-out is not specified and everything is self-service, the price of the place is high compared to the service provided that is almost null

The decoration charms me because they give it that Mexican touch, the Huichol art painting and the rest of the bed very nice with Mexican crafts. The complimentary cafe was very rich, very spacious, with lots of light. Beautiful ocean view of the Caribbean.

The place was beautiful and convenient. We dropped our stuff off earlier before checkin while the staff was still cleaning, probably the reason why the floor was still sandy. That being said, the staffs were very kind and friendly.

Everything is fine, accommodation with balcony towards the sea and sunset. Rooftop terrace is also available. It is centrally located on the island and you can easily get to all the sights as well as to the accommodation, the stops are easily accessible on foot by isleños bus (40 MXN). There are plenty of very good local restaurants in the nearby area and also plenty of supermarkets. Taxi from port to property is very expensive 150 - 250 MXN compared to the bus.

Wonderful stay, comfortable, nice place and #5 overlooking Atlantic ocean. We feel right at home! As for the area, we feel like tourists that in general Cancun is extremely expensive. Most of the amenities are abused, and do not provide complete information. Better buy at Mercado 28 souvenirs and so on. Always ask, there are places where the dollar gets it better than exchange houses. In Isla Mujeres, 250 pesos are paid for at least 250 pesos per meal. From Airbnb to North Beach, which is the best known and safest, transportation should be used. Taxis charge 100-150 pesos each time, same fee to go to Punta Sur. For the ferry, 590 pesos are paid for the ferry per trip. The golf carts came out at 2000 pesos a day, and the bicycles in very bad condition (No change, they slow down) at 80 pesos per hour but it takes a minimum of 3 hours to see the Island well and take photos. Go to Playa Norte to Playa Mia, you can snorkel (free).

Great apartments outside of the busy tourist zone area. Easy to find and as described. The hosts were always responsive and helpful with our questions. Exactly the little place we needed. Kitchen living space bathroom and comfortable bed!

Loved this spot! So so glad we didn’t stay downtown (crazy chaotic BUSY Cancun vibes!) and opted for a more laidback Isla experience. Kasie was very responsive to our questions. Check-in/check-out super easy. Plenty of filtered water, ice in the freezer, beach towels, great shower, hot water, little balcony off the bedroom zone with eastern views of the island. Beautiful sunrises!

Overall we were very happy with our stay in the apartment. We found a couple of great taco places in the area. We sat on the rooftop patio a couple of nights just looking at the stars & listening to the waves. Just the air conditioning in the apartment was a bummer-- it was cooled just enough if the door was closed in the bedroom, but the kitchen/bathroom was hot & muggy. The neighborhood dogs barked & woke us up early every morning. The bed was a little too firm...but it worked out fine for our needs. Thank you!

This accommodation is really nice. You have a big enough apartment with everything you might need for your stay. It is mostly quiet there in the night so there will be nothing bothering you while falling asleep. We appreciate water barrel with frest water in the kitchen. Apartment is located about 15 minutes drive from the city centre and 35 minutes walk down to Punta Sur. We would reccomend this accommodation to everyone staying on Isla Mujeres :-)

We enjoyed staying in Kasie’s home. It was centrally located on the island in a local neighborhood outside of town. The rooftop view was beautiful and a lovely place to sip coffee and have breakfast each morning. It was possible to walk into the main downtown, touristy part of the island, but it took around 45 minutes to do so. However, we liked being able to walk in both directions to explore the island by foot. Highly recommended if you are looking for a more authentic place to stay away from the tourist areas.

I wished I hadn’t stayed my last night in Isla Mujeres in this airbnb, it’s really nice BUT when we arrived the help told us that the AC wasn’t working and that a technician was supposed to come by shortly to fix it. I was okay with that because we were going out. Not only that, the toilet wasn’t working and I told the help before heading out that we couldn’t flush and she acknowledged that there was an issue for the entire building and should be fixed soon as well. So I agreed and left for the day. At my return later that evening, we are tired ready to go to bed because we need to leave early in the morning, we noticed that the AC is still not working and still can’t flush…so we had to use a bucket to do that every time we went to the bathroom and we slept with the balcony door open and of course there was a big party in the other block(not the hosts fault) but we slept pretty bad, it was really hot and I feel that the host just didn’t care at all. So just make sure everything works.

This place was just what we were looking for! Quiet neighborhood with an amazing 360 degree view from the rooftop terrace. We stayed in no. 5 and had a private balcony. Great location! Easy to get to either end of the island. And close to the large store/mall for groceries. Highly recommend getting a golf cart booked before you arrive - you’ll want it!

This place has an amazing view from the balcony and the rooftop. Cute place with an authentic feel! The room has your basic necessities. The tiles in the bathroom are beautiful. It’s in a good location. The only downside during our stay was the air conditioning; when turned on, after being off all day while we were out exploring, would immediately start to freeze up and did not adequately cool the room. Also please note despite the photos of the coffee pot there is not one in the apartment (there was a percolator type kettle).

Great place for the price. View of the water, safe quiet neighborhood - nice to be away from the business of north beach. , full kitchen separate from bedroom. Great water pressure in shower. Would definitely return

Super! We had a great time! The apartment has been clean and very pretty! In the area that is very quiet. We found 3 very good and recommended restaurants: Doro's, Casa de ceviche and La Mestizia. All three have served vegetarian food:)

Great place! Clean and everything by you need to have a nice time. We used the rooftop to sit out and have breakfast in the mornings, gorgeous 360 view of the whole island. Great neighborhood, friendly and quiet, perfect getaway from the typical loud and tourist heavy areas!

I have a lot to say about this stay. First, the misleading things: while technically the apartment does have air conditioning, it is only in the bedroom. With the bedroom door closed, the bedroom does stay cool. But the rest of the apartment stays incredibly hot and humid. Even with leaving the bedroom door open to promote airflow, the kitchen never really cooled down. Keep this in mind if you’re traveling during the hottest and most humid months, as it felt very, very hot in the kitchen and bathroom. There is no coffee maker like the pictures show, instead there are two percolators with an open jar of ground coffee. Not a huge deal, but if that’s important to you, now you know. Also, the place does technically have a “ocean view” but it is greatly obscured by neighboring houses and telephone poles and wires. There is a reason a picture of the view is not shown in the listing, because it is not the best. Finally, it is not walkable to a beach unless you walk about a mile+ to the south west. The entire east coast of Isla Mujeres IS NOT a beach with sand! Beware! It is rocky cliffs that no one really swims in, and there are very few access points anyway. This apartment is located in an area difficult to navigate to and from, which the listing does clearly show. Obtaining a taxi off of the street isn’t too difficult, but sometimes it is hard to find one. The host provided three numbers for drivers that you can call, though. In my experience, it was about 80 pesos and about 10 minutes to go from the apartments anywhere on the island. The towels and sheets had multiple yellow and brown stains, but overall felt and smelled clean. The facilities were clearly cleaned, but the apartment still had a few bugs crawling around, but that is almost to be expected in an older building. As another reviewer mentioned, there are a lot of dogs that bark on the streets at night, and the sound travels well. I would bring earplugs if this bothers you. Now for the good things: the apartment is furnished with enough cups and plates and utensils for two people. The fridge worked well. There is clean water provided. The shower had no problem getting and staying hot. The front door locked well. The stove functioned (once I realized you have to light a match to get the flames - I was spoiled by self lighting stoves!). The toilet flushed. I felt safe in the neighborhood. The wifi worked well for me, but I only had light cell phone use and cannot vouch for its usefulness in remote working. The bed is on the firmer side but I had no issues sleeping. The rooftop does have a few places to sit and enjoyable views around the island.

We stayed here for a week. Large, spacious and well-kept apartment. Cute rooftop terrace. Communicating with the host prompt, and available if needed. Supermarket in the area. You need to rent a vehicle to go to the beaches and any restaurants and clubs in the center. Appreciate the location out of the chaos.

Casa Kay in Isla Mujeres is our home away from home in Tulum, Mexico. We love our stays at Casa Kay. It’s located on the quiet side of the island on Isla Mujeres. Has a great ocean view, a top floor terrace to catch sunrises and sunsets, and great shower heads in each bathroom for a spa like hot shower. The units are super clean and cozy. Everything you need accompanies each unit. We will always come back!!
