The Space
Shanta Pura is a spacious, newly built home located in the desirable "K Section" of the Guiones Beach area. This contemporary Balinese-style residence was designed by a local architect with entertaining and accommodating multiple families in mind. Nestled in a lush tropical environment, the house is just a short 1-2 minute walk from Playa Guiones beach, allowing you to easily carry your boards and gear without needing to drive—an uncommon convenience in this area.
The home features a distinctive colonial-style design surrounded by a 10-foot natural stone wall and an additional 6-foot wire and post fence covered with foliage and flowers. This combination offers exceptional security and privacy while still allowing you to enjoy the open air and refreshing breezes typical of the Costa Rican climate. The garden areas blend the outdoor landscape with the interior, creating a seamless connection with nature.
There are four bedrooms in total: two master bedrooms upstairs and two bedrooms on the first floor. All bedrooms can be arranged with king-sized beds if preferred. The lower-level bedrooms include remarkable outdoor showers. The chef’s kitchen is fully equipped with every appliance and amenity needed to prepare any meal. A large live-edge Guanacaste wood dining table seats 10 to 12 guests, perfect for enjoying meals poolside in the open air while streaming music through the home’s sound system.

The main level includes an indoor-outdoor media room with sliding glass doors that open to the garden, blending indoor comfort with the natural surroundings.
This versatile space is perfect for movie nights, ping pong matches, or board game evenings, offering entertainment options for guests of all ages.
Outdoor Space
The backyard is a private oasis featuring a lush garden filled with vibrant flowers and greenery, bringing the jungle atmosphere right to your doorstep. Relax in one of the hammocks while enjoying the gentle sea breeze. As night falls, gather around the open firepit surrounded by hanging string lights, creating a warm and inviting ambiance.

This 4 bed house looks just like the pics! Better yet, it's a 2 min walk to the beach & mellower surf break, 5 minutes to the farmer's market & great restaurants, and 15 to Bodhi Tree. We did not rent vehicles and did not miss out. Surf rentals across street! Things to note that are great: beds had nice linens and were totally comfy! Shower towels were plush. Rick stocked the fridge with our shopping list - great for our arrival. Plenty of pool towels - pool was needed! Ice maker came in super handy. Things to note that need eyes: coffee pot missing a part. BBQ did not work & was filled with rat poo. Backyard had a firepit but couldn't enjoy because mango trees cover yard and are filled with monkeys eating them, throwing them down on the chairs (and pooping there.) After day one, no hot water went to the showers - not sure why. The only safe that worked was in one of the upstairs bedrooms. Heidi made huge amounts of great food. We would definitely rent this lovely place again!

House is in an awesome location. It is near surf shop and close to beach. House is also very open with no doors to exterior (open kitchen, living and dining). Some members of our group loved this - it made for swimming in pool and playing outside with children super easy. For others it was less ideal (mosquitos at night, hot during day, leaves and dirt constantly blowing through kitchen with a need to be vigilant about putting food away at night so that it didn't attract animals). The complimentary chef was a joy and having beautiful prepared meals waiting on the table was amazing. Overall a positive experience.

Shanta Pura was an absolute dream—exactly as pictured. A major highlight was the concierge service from Rick and his responsive team. Even though we’d been to Playa Guiones before, they added thoughtful touches: adjusting reservations, arranging our snorkeling tour, and helping make my 50th birthday unforgettable. Rick even surprised us with a delicious cake. The home was magical, with a perfect layout for three couples, and we spent hours in the pool. Having Heidy cook for us was a huge bonus—her meals were outstanding, and she and her sous-chef made everything effortless. We also loved having a great surf shop right across the street for easy board rentals. Dining around town was fantastic: La Luna, Al Chile, Harmony Hotel, Olas Verdes, and a special celebratory dinner at Huacas at Tierra Magnifica. Our six-person golf cart from Limo Dan was super convenient, and the massages at Tica Massage were some of the best we’ve ever had.
