We had the most wonderful time at Casa Cacha. It is a beautiful property in the most beautiful settings. We could not believe how easily we were able to spot the toucans and other birds in the back garden. Carlos the gardener was very helpful. The pool has been done very well and the natural set up suits the property and area perfectly. The beach was quite rough while we were there in mid August. We were able to still have a good time but we could imagine how lovely it must be when it’s calmer.

We just had the best possible time in this wonderful house. EVERYTHING was great. The communication with Angel, the house itself, the rooms, garden, pool, beds… Just a few minutes walk to a beautiful beach and a lovely restaurant. Just a few minutes cycling to yoga, other beaches and small shops and a few minutes driving from more shops, a small town, many restaurants etc etc. Would definitely come back!!!

Cacha overall was an amazing experience. We loved the secluded feeling of being in the jungle but still close to the beach. It was peaceful & quiet with the exception of the welcomed sounds of rain & wildlife. It truly is a retreat. It reminded me of a mountain cabin deep in the woods. There is a bedroom, as noted, outside the main house. The bathroom w/ separate toilet, shower, & outdoor sink is not connected to the bedroom, but we did not mind. It felt rustic. Kids didn’t use the pool because they weren’t too excited about the fish and mossy bottom but for me it was like hopping in a refreshing river. Our dogs loved the open space and my kids loved lounging on the wrap-around porch. The house doesn’t have a lot of natural light during the day, but it was best to be outside anyway. Uva offers a more secluded vacation than the neighboring towns, with not much in walking distance, but the beach and jungle are beautiful. Wifi was excellent. Any concerns we had were immediately addressed.

Wow! Such an absolutely beautiful home and thoughtful host. The home was perfectly tucked into the natural surround and we enjoyed the sounds and sights of the local flora and fauna, from a multitude of different birds, beautiful butterflies, howler monkeys, and more! The natural pool was a highlight, it was so tranquil and the grounds were beautifully manicured. We could have spent the whole vacation just sitting on the porch looking out. Inside the home was spotlessly clean and well stocked. The area was fantastic just a 10 minute walk to the most beautiful beach, and close to nearby grocery stores and restaurants. We highly recommend El Rufugio Grill for a fantastic meal. We got airport transfer and massages through the host's recommendations and both were fantastic. The host was extremely responsive and friendly anytime we reached out. We were traveling as a family for my mom's 70th birthday and it couldn't have been a more wonderful trip. We absolutely loved this place. Quiet, private and such a beautiful home with amazing landscape. If you are trying to decide between this location and a few others, do yourself the favor and select this AirBnB. Angel was very helpful, responsive and addressed all of our needs. We met Peter and his wife, both super friendly and gave us some great suggestions. The home was clean, comfortable and had everything we could ask for, just as advertised but even better. We did fall in love with a young kitten while there and he was super sweet, if you see him, please be nice to him, he’s so friendly and sweet but he’s scared as well. I honestly could not be happier with our stay in Punta Uva. Easy walk to a beautiful beach and not far from Puerto Viejo. I’d suggest renting a quad or side by side, or even a scooter. Nice short ride to all the area has to offer. We will miss our time and thank you sharing your home with us.

We had an incredible stay—this place is truly special. It feels like being immersed in the jungle, but with all the comfort of a beautifully designed home. The house and gardens are stunning, and the porch is perfect for relaxing any time of the day or night with the sounds of birds, monkeys, frogs - even fireflies! Truly magical. The natural pool and outdoor shower were highlights—so refreshing and a unique way to feel connected to nature in a private setting. The location is ideal: peaceful and tucked away, yet a short walk to a beautiful beach and a quick drive to restaurants and groceries. The hosts were wonderfully friendly, responsive, and great to deal with! I genuinely don’t understand the recent negative review—our experience (and clearly many others’) was the complete opposite. Everything was exactly as described or better! We’re so grateful we stayed here and would absolutely return. Highly recommend! We can’t wait to come back and stay again!

Our stay was disappointing mainly due to how situations were handled. The house looks nice during the day, but there are important issues to consider. At night, lighting is very limited and there is no clear signage. We unintentionally drove past the house and got stuck in what appears to be grass but is actually water-saturated ground. Even a 4x4 got stuck in the same area. This resulted in ~$300 to recover the vehicle plus $100 charged by the host. Communication was initially responsive but later became stressful. The “private natural pool” did not match expectations, as other people accessed it and the surface is slippery with visible aquatic life. Other facts: outdoor bedroom/bathroom, strong mosquitoes at night, limited lighting, which makes moving around at night unsafe. Beach access is ~1.4 km round trip walking. Also, any trip to restaurants or supermarkets takes ~30 min round trip by car. After many Airbnb stays, this is the first time I would not return or recommend.

The vehicles were driven well beyond the marked parking area into landscaped terrain without notifying us, which directly caused the situation and resulting recovery costs. We only became aware once our staff discovered the vehicles. Immediate communication would have allowed us to assist and likely prevent both inconvenience and damage. The property description accurately reflects the experience offered. The natural pool, outdoor bedroom and bathroom, tropical surroundings, wildlife, and ambient nighttime lighting are all clearly disclosed and are typical of a nature-immersed stay in Punta Uva. These are intentional features rather than deficiencies. We worked throughout your stay to address all concerns promptly and continued hosting in good faith despite the circumstances. We respectfully disagree with the characterization of the experience and believe expectations may not have aligned with the type of property reserved. We wish you well in your future travels.

Our stay in Punta Uva was truly unforgettable. The house was great, beautiful, comfortable, and perfectly set up to enjoy both relaxation and adventure. The location was ideal, close enough to town and the beaches to explore easily, yet private and peaceful when we wanted to unwind. Waking up to the sounds of nature was stunning. The home itself was clean and well-maintained. Bedrooms were comfy and bathrooms were great with nice water pressure and consistent hot water. Communication with the host was smooth and kind, which made the experience even better. Angel was really flexible and responsive which we really appreciated.

Great house with high rooms on extensive well-kept private grounds with a beautiful garden. Good for animal watching. Lots of privacy. Beautiful bouquets with fresh flowers in the kitchen and bathroom. The white kitchen counter was bright and classy. We felt very comfortable. Once when we accidentally locked ourselves out, someone immediately came to help. The owner knows the best massage therapist and a great private chef you can hire. The natural pool is well maintained and blends well with the surroundings. We enjoyed the great biodiversity in the garden very much.

Tolles Haus mit hohen Räumen auf weitläufigem gepflegten Privatgelände mit schönem Garten. Gut für Tierbeobachtung. Viel Privatsphähre. Schöne Blumensträusse  mit frischen Blumen in der Küche und Bad. Die weisse Küchenplatte war hell und edel. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Als wir uns einmal aus Versehen ausgeschlossen hatten, kam sofort jemand zur Hilfe. Die Besitzerin kennt die beste Massagetherapeutin und einen tollen Privatkoch, die man engagieren kann. Der Naturpool ist gepflegt und fügt sich gut in die Umgebung ein. Wir haben die grosse Biodiversität im Garten sehr genossen.

The house is beautiful, even more so than in the photographs. It is very well equipped and you have a perfect location, just a 5-minute walk from one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. The green spaces are beautiful and we were able to see toucans, monkeys and sloths. Perfect for going with pets!

La casa es preciosa, aún mas que en las fotografías. Está muy bien equipado y tienes una locación perfecta, a solo 5 minutos andando de una de las playas más lindas de Costa Rica. Los espacios verdes son hermosos y pudimos ver tucanes, monos y osos perezosos. Perfecto para ir con mascotas!

Our stay at Villa Cacha was absolutely amazing! The home was perfect for our group of six, with three comfortable beds and two full bathrooms. Each room had its own efficient AC unit, and the kitchen was fully equipped for anything we needed. One of our favorite parts was enjoying morning coffee on the deck while listening to howler monkeys and birds all around us. Although there was some construction happening on the property, it didn’t disrupt our experience. We were usually out during the day anyway, either walking a short distance to the beach or taking a quick TukTuk ride into Punta Uva. Overall, it was a wonderful place to stay, and we would absolutely return if we visit Costa Rica again! Thanks for everything, Shirley Carpenter

We had a fantastic week. Everything was better than described.  We were so excited to find this gem. Our hosts were very responsive, friendly, and helpful. We would love to stay here again.

The place was an amazing experience. we enjoyed sitting  in the porch and seeing tucans, hearing howling monkeys, watching different hummingbirds, and just enjoying a piece of heaven.  They have fruit trees! Walking distance to beautiful beaches and within a few mins of amazing restaurants, shopping, and coffee shops. Peter and his wife, the host, were very friendly and told us a bit about the area. loved that everything is labeled in the kitchen and it was well equipped. This place made me want to stay in CR permanently!

Beautiful house, very close to the beach. Everything was clean and organized. The kitchen was very well equipped. We loved the little dog that came to visit every now and then. We had a very relaxing and peaceful stay.

Great house, newly renovated and in an excellent location

This place was so beautiful and peaceful. The property is huge with well manicured lawn and lushes tropical plants. Our family enjoyed sitting on the spacious deck and seeing the humming birds drinking nectar from nearby plants. The house is a made hard cacha wood that gave a natural Costa Rican feel with gleaming hard wood floors. The host was great, very responsive and helpful with guides to restaurants and activities! This property is a five minutes walk to the most pristine beach in all of Costa Rica. We love our stay and would highly recommend this place and the wonderful host!!

Awesome location! Beautiful views with the sounds of nature echoing around you. Private and yet a walk away from an amazing beach and close to so many other things to do. Super clean, with plenty of room. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need,  and don’t forget air conditioning!  The morning view from the deck was so peaceful. Beyond my expectations. The host Angel was more than helpful. You won’t be disappointed!!! We’ll be taking advantage of this piece of paradise for many years to come 🥰
