Nestled in a stunning location, Casa Cielo offers unparalleled views of the Monteverde mountains. Guests can explore private trails across the forest preserve property and enjoy breathtaking sunsets over the valley and the Gulf of Nicoya. Located just minutes from Santa Elena and the Monteverde reserves, this cabin serves as an ideal base for eco-tourism adventures.

The Space

Casa Cielo is one of the most inspiring homes in Monteverde. This two-story A-frame cabin with a loft creates a feeling of living among the clouds. Large picture windows along the entire first floor provide frequent sightings of hawks soaring over the valley.

The upstairs balcony features a hammock where guests can experience unforgettable sunrises and sunsets. On your first morning, enjoy complimentary organic coffee from our Monteverde farm as you take in the spectacular forest views.

Inside, the cabin boasts beautiful hardwood floors throughout and multiple cozy areas to unwind. A whirlpool bathtub for two is located on the second floor, offering stunning views of the valley forest and the Gulf of Nicoya.

Sleeping arrangements include a double bed and a loft bed upstairs, along with a comfortable futon, accommodating up to five guests. Both the downstairs bathroom and the upstairs whirlpool bathtub have hot water. Additional conveniences include a washing machine and a double clothesline.

The fully equipped kitchen allows you to prepare meals while enjoying the view. The custom-crafted dining table is perfect for family meals. Alternatively, you can order traditional Costa Rican dishes prepared by local neighbors and delivered to the cabin.

Relaxation options include the living room’s couch and armchair, the upstairs loveseat for reading, or the balcony hammock for sipping coffee or wine while watching the sunset.

Views and Ambiance

Casa Cielo offers unmatched views from every room. The dining area overlooks the forest preserve, extending out to the valley and the Gulf of Nicoya. The upstairs balcony features a custom-designed wrought iron railing and a hammock that can be set up for relaxation or removed for sunrise yoga.

Guests can enjoy a variety of books from our library collection, which includes children’s and adult literature, Costa Rican guidebooks, and titles about local flora and fauna. A desk is available for writing in the guestbook or researching Monteverde activities using the fast, unlimited fiber optic internet connection—ideal for remote work.

Property and Wildlife

The property spans over 2.5 hectares (6 acres) of private forest with trails for exploration. Visitors have the opportunity to experience Monteverde’s famous cloud forests and observe diverse wildlife such as parrots, toucans, and monkeys.

Guest Access

Guests have exclusive use of the entire house, a private parking space, and the surrounding 2.5-hectare (6-acre) forest preserve. Access is secured by a private gated entrance and a short, flat trail leading to Casa Cielo.

Additional Information

Guests can arrange to have homemade meals delivered directly to the cabin, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Please coordinate meal orders in advance to ensure availability during your stay.
