Romantic Luxe Oceanview 5 Acre Estate

Have been visiting CR for fifteen years and this was one of the nicest airbnbs have yet to experience. It’s a nice change of pace from more busy destinations and loved exploring the local beaches, especially Dominicalito and Ventanas. We spent half our time poolside enjoying the zen of the views and all the wildlife. Pura vida!

Our week at Casa Mariposa will remain vivid in our memories for years and years to come. No picture could do this property justice. From the sweeping view, well decorated and appointed home, and its proximity to so much while remaining completely private and peaceful. Christine and Tom are excellent hosts, always responding within moments! The concierge service made it feel like a 5 star resort. We saw toucans, macaws, and birds of all kinds while simply lounging by the pool. Watching the sunrise with the sound of the howler monkeys around you was one of our favorite parts of the trip! Bring hiking shoes or sandals to enjoy the river trail that begins right off the driveway. The home also felt extremely safe and secure. I can’t say enough and I have zero hesitation recommending Casa Mariposa to anyone looking to connect with nature in luxury! Pura Vida!

Probably the best Airbnb we’ve ever stayed in. Exceptional views over the jungle and the Pacific, and a house that is quiet, private, beautifully designed and extremely well equipped. Tom and Christine were proactive, clear communicators and very responsive throughout. Their thoughtful touches made it feel like a genuinely special place to stay. This place was probably the highlight of our Costa Rica trip. We visited after La Fortuna, which some of our family was disappointed we didn’t see much wildlife at Fortuna… to our surprise, we were able to see toucans, macaws, monkeys, and the most beautiful blue butterfly at this Airbnb. The drive up was a little steep and bumpy but the view was absolutely stunning and made it worth it. The house was beautifully furnished, especially the kitchen - they have all the equipment you could possibly need! Truly the pictures do not do this place justice. Christine and Tom were very communicative leading up to and throughout our stay.

A wonderful place to stay with everything one would wish for. A private pool with fantastic views, surrounded by nature. If you fancy cooking or grilling, there's no utensil that would be lacking. Well stocked grocery stores are close by, so are fantastic beaches. You don't hear the road by the hillside. Everything is explained super well, and the house is a great base to explore the pacific coast of Costa Rica. The host is responsive and happy to help with organising anything one would wish for. This was our final stay and a welcome change from bustling hotels and menu routines. Be sure to have 4x4 to access the property, it's not too difficult though and you'll get used to it quickly.

What an incredible house and location! We wished we could have stayed there forever waking up to howler monkeys and the incredible sunrise. Christine, Tom, and their team were super friendly, helpful and always responsive. Uvita shops are located conveniently close. If you’re looking for a paradise getaway look no further! The house is up a hill and you need a 4x4 to get there. The 6 acres the house sits on has incredible trails to explore so pack your hiking shoes! Overall it was a pleasant stay with lots of luxuries from home in a tropical slice of paradise.

The place was amazing. We had a great time there. Christine’s local recommendations and guides were very helpful and she was always there to help whenever you needed it. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for w peaceful and quiet time in clean and beautiful house. Easily one of our top Airbnb we stayed in. Can’t wait to be back again!

The highlight of our very first trip to Costa Rica was hands down this house. From the breathtaking views to the beautiful landscaping, thoughtful design, fresh flowers throughout, and comfortable furnishings, it was a place we loved spending time in. We saw so many gorgeous birds right from the property and few visits from a white nosed coati. It felt incredibly safe having a groundskeeper at the gate of the property while still being very private the entire stay. The pool was fantastic, and having AC in the bedrooms with super comfortable bedding made it the perfect retreat after long days of adventure in the humidity and heat. The kitchen was stocked with every piece of cookware we could possibly need, which made cooking at home so easy. Tom and Christine were amazing hosts, responsive before and during the trip, very accommodating, and thoughtful. Since it was our first time in Costa Rica, we were so grateful they introduced us to someone to help arrange activities.

Heaven on Earth is the only way to describe Casa Mariposa. Breathtaking. Romantic. Private. Lush and on and on. A little slice of paradise in Southern Costa Rica. It is the most beautiful, peaceful, incredibly private villa overlooking the Pacific and Osa Peninsula. The minimilist modern design is perfectly designed to capture the views and breeze from the ocean and mountains through the house. The furnishings were all brand new, super comfortable, modern. I felt at home. The kitchen is perfect and overlooks the open floor plan, pool and the ocean. The kitchenware, flatware, cookwear and appliances are all new and high end. Mariposa is the PERFECT house for a couple looking for a romantic stay, a small family or two couples looking for a beautiful, very private home away from home while having all the fun activities, great restaurants and spectacular beaches that Southern Costa Rica has to offer. My wife and I will keep visiting Casa Mariposa for many years to come.
