Situated on the mountain above Uvita, Casa Mama’s Happy offers sweeping views of the valley and the renowned Whale Tail beach, along with convenient access to the town. This contemporary 3,900 square foot residence features an open floor plan designed for comfort and modern living.
- Four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms accommodate up to 10 guests, providing both privacy and ample communal areas.
- Accordion doors at the front and back open wide to connect the interior with the lush botanical gardens and the natural beauty of Costa Rica.
- Enjoy the refreshing mountain breeze and the sounds of toucans and ocean surf from the garden, infinity pool, or the balcony that extends across the entire second floor.
The kitchen is equipped with U.S.-standard appliances and includes a large island, perfect for starting your day with a cup of Costa Rican coffee. The adjacent living room is uniquely furnished and serves as a spacious gathering spot with direct access to the first master bedroom. This master suite features a king-sized bed and an en-suite bathroom with dual sinks and a large rain shower.
Upper Level
Access the second floor via a floating staircase to find the second master bedroom, mirroring the main floor’s layout. Large sliding doors reveal even more expansive views of the rainforest, Uvita valley, and beach.
- The upstairs TV room offers a large 4K HDTV, Bose surround sound, and comfortable loungers that convert into beds for extra sleeping space.
- An outdoor seating area on the rear balcony provides a private mountain-side setting, enhanced by shades for a peaceful atmosphere.

This place is incredible. The host was great. We got in late in a massive rain storm and they still got us into the house. 4x4 is must. The road up is rough, steep and fun. In heavy rain you might not make it up the road. Jungle surroundings are sick. The view of the ocean is amazing. Drop some cash on this place. Worth it.

We woke up in paradise! After a long journey, we arrived at Mamma's Happy, where our wonderful host, Josue, warmly welcomed us with open arms despite the late hour. Driving up the guarded mountain, we reached a stunning villa safely behind a fence. Waking up felt surreal. A toucan perched in a nearby tree, the sounds of birds and monkeys filled the air. The villa offers an incredible view of Bahia Ballena, the iconic Whaletail Beach, and Uvita’s coastline beyond the jungle. The villa was perfect, complete with everything we needed. We loved cooking and dining outside under the rancho. Evenings by the pool, sipping margaritas while surrounded by jungle sounds, felt like a dream. During the day, we enjoyed reading by the pool in the sun, looking out over the villa's beautiful garden. This place had it all: beauty, safety, and space to relax, play, and connect. To do morning yoga while spotting birds, and plenty of room to cook and connect with loved ones in a place that felt like home.

What a beautiful place. Mama’s happy immediately felt like home well equipped and can tell the owner loves and takes care of the place and guests. We spent amazing time exploring local area lots to do and see. Felt great to come “home” in evening and relax in pool in the middle of nature.

Marc's place was great. easy to get to and when there was a few small issues they got fixed or were communicated on how to fix them. I have stayed at many places in the area and communication was great and his service was amazing. Thanks

Marc’s place was amazing and beautiful! The landscaping is amazing. We saw multiple groups of monkeys, Tucans and many other types of birds. The property is very private but very secure! The pool was great with the best view! Thanks for sharing your amazing place with my family!

Book this place now. The view alone will blow you away. This house exceeded our expectations. The house is clean, full of everything you might need, the pool is beautiful, all the bedrooms and living spaces are comfortable. We have nothing negative to say and would book it again in a second.

The house villa was awesome. With a beautiful mountain view looking over jungle and looking at the beach and ocean in the far distance location was perfect, you just need a 4x4 to get away up and back down. They were very responsive. also, you are about 25 minutes driving to whale tail beach

This is a beautiful home in a great location. A 4x4 vehicle is definitely required to get there. Of note, the tile around the pool area was very slippery and dangerous when wet and the entrance to the pool is sloped and difficult to navigate. We laid down beach towels near the entrance to the pool to reduce the risk. However, this is did not fully solve the problem. Though our Wi-Fi and hot water were not working when we first arrived, the host and management were responsive and fixed it. The view is breathtaking and we had interactions with a variety of wildlife, including monkeys and iguanas. The home was clean, the kitchen was well stocked with appliances, and the bedrooms were comfortable with working air conditioning in each room. Overall, the experience was positive for the adults but I do not believe it is kid friendly at this time as the pool area was hazardous and there were not children’s toys as mentioned.
