This was a lovely place to stay. It was peaceful and had great views and wildlife just out the windows. Tobi was a wonderful host and gave great advice on what to do in Monteverde. His family's restaurant, Stella's, had great food and was right by the start of the driveway.

This rustic cabin has an amazingly view and wildlife that greets you at every corner. My kids loved the tarzan swing, the agoutis, the toucans and the numerous butterflies and hummingbirds that we could watch from the front porch. My husband and I loved the stunning sunsets, Toby's amazing recommendations (follow them... you will not be sorry), and the affordability of our stay in Monteverde. Please note this cabin is the real Costa Rica experience (no AC or heat and testy hot water) and you will definitely need a 4x4 to make it up the drive way, that said I could not recommend it any more for a magical Monteverde getaway!

My family and I had a wonderful time at Rainbow Cabin. We booked this location because of the possibility of seeing wildlife and it didn’t disappoint! We saw toucans, butterflies, hummingbirds, motmot, agouti, coati, white faced monkeys and even the infamous bell bird!!!! I couldn’t ask for a better experience and Tobi was phenomenal. He met us upon our arrival and even let us check in early. He took us on a tour of the trails behind the property and over to the monteverde cheese factory. He was so helpful and assisted in booking some of our tours. And after we got rained on during our El Tirge hike he even offered to do our laundry which was way above and beyond anything I have ever experienced from a host. The cabin is a bit rustic but is exactly as described and represented in the photos. It was perfect for my family of 4 for 3 nights. Driveway is steep as others have described but it added to the adventure! Also don’t skip a stop at Stella’s Tobi’s families restaurant!

Tobi hosted our family of 5! The house inside had everything we needed to cook and sleep comfortably. THE OUTSIDE space was incredible. We had an ocean view of the Nicoya peninsula when it was clear, beautiful landscaping, frequent visits from wildlife, and quiet space to just be. Tobi was so sweet to our kids and spent time sharing about his land and we are so grateful for his time. He cares about his guests and the land. Thank you, Tobi for welcoming and sharing your space with us. We can’t wait to come back!!!

We loved our stay in Tobi's Rainbow House Cabin. Tobi helped us with everything, he gave us a little private tour in the surrounding and explained about the rainforest, Monteverde and the animals. We saw just in front of the apartment a lot of butterflies, hummingbirds and other birds, every day there are Agutis coming, sometimes the coati and one time monkeys visited us! As the way up the hill is quite steep you need definitively a car 4x4. The cabin house was nice for us with gwo children, it's easy to prepare food in the kitchen. And the sunsets are just magic. We can highly recommend this place and would love to come back once! Thanks Tobi!

We stayed at Tobi’s place for 2 nights. It’s on a steep hill with very rocky road so you must have a 4x4 especially in rainy season. Here are few things to keep in mind - water heater was electric so had to be run on low speed only to have hot water. Had to skip washing hair. There were no fans or ventilation. The cabin got very humid. We came back at night & all of our clothes (pajamas) that were left outside got very damp & so were the blankets/sheets. We are aware we came during rainy season but this was an unusual experience. The cabin is behind the main house so have to walk a few steps before climbing 7-8 steps. Bringing the luggage in was very difficult in dark with dragging it in mud & bringing it in rooms. Main house would have been more convenient. We are sharing this so you can be mindful if you are planning a stay in the cabin. Otherwise, Tobi was fantastic & easy to communicate with. Very prompt and informative. We wish the best. Pura Vida!
