Overview
Villa Ethir is a contemporary residence constructed in 2018, located on the point between the estuaries of Playa Tamarindo and Playa Langosta. Known locally as Punta San Francisco, this spot sits on a rocky outcrop overlooking Tamarindo Beach to the right and Langosta Beach to the left. The villa offers direct beach access to both Playa Tamarindo and Playa Langosta, the latter being the more upscale area of Tamarindo.
The Space
From the main house, terrace, and private garden with pool, guests can enjoy ocean views, which vary depending on the green season versus the dry season. The master bedroom faces the wooden deck and pool, while the two additional bedrooms overlook the pool from the opposite side. All bedrooms are arranged around the swimming pool, creating a central, cohesive layout.
Guest Access
Guests have full access to the entire property except for the laundry room, which remains locked. Laundry services are provided by the cleaning staff at no additional charge. All utilities are included in the rental price; however, guests are kindly asked to turn off air conditioning and lights when rooms or the house are unoccupied. Maintenance staff are also instructed to switch off the air conditioning when no one is present.
Additional Information
For the upcoming season through the end of February 2026, a 20% discount has been applied to the nightly rate due to ongoing construction in the neighborhood. This discount is offered in addition to any weekly or monthly reductions as an apology for any inconvenience caused. To further ensure guest comfort, day passes to a nearby beach resort are included, providing a quiet retreat away from any construction noise.

We had a wonderful time at Bert’s place! The location was perfect, close to town and easy to walk to the beach! We spent lots of time in the pool and were able to really relax and enjoy our time! Bert was super responsive and helpful! Thanks again Bert and Olga!

Our family stay at Bert's Casa in Tamarindo was fabulous! The accommodation was perfect and the kids loved having the pool. Just a short walk to the beach, we enjoyed all the Tamarindo had to offer. The communication was excellent, and Josue and Juanita kept the house running smoothly for our whole visit. Would definitely go back again.

Absolutely loved our stay! The house is gorgeous, the beds are incredibly comfortable, and the pool is perfect for relaxing. Fantastic location just steps from the sea, and the host was wonderfully responsive. Couldn’t have asked for more!

We have stayed many times in the area. We enjoyed the location, however the home was not as we expected. The outdoor fan blades were missing, the pool deck was in disrepair with holes, the casita toilet had a smell and the linens and towels need a refresh as they’re very worn and old. The host did provide a temporary fix to the pool deck and sent over dish detergent in a reasonable amount of time. I would stay in the area again but not at this location. The security was nice, quick walk to the very rocky beach and the pool functioned well. The property does not allow you to use the laundry, but they do provide the service if that works for your family. Also, the primary shower is outside only, which was quite a surprise.

What an absolutely amazing experience at Villa Ethir in Tamarindo! I booked the villa for Katrina, Tobyn, and their kids, and from the start, the communication with Bert (the owner) was outstanding. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was smooth—from helping me book a rental car to providing fantastic local recommendations for restaurants and activities. When he realized there might be some nearby construction noise, he immediately arranged guest passes for a nearby resort as a thoughtful gesture. His attention to detail and genuine care made planning this trip so much easier. From Katrina and the family’s perspective, the stay itself was just as wonderful. The location is unbeatable—just steps from a picturesque beach—and the villa is exactly as pictured, if not better. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything they needed, and Josué, the on-site contact, was always available, kind, and incredibly helpful. Both Bert and Josué made the whole experience seamless.

I’ve rented from several Airbnb hosts before, but I’ve never experienced such a wonderful, hands-on owner as Bert. He truly goes above and beyond to ensure his guests feel welcomed and cared for. Bert is an amazing individual who takes the time to make sure everything in his power is perfect. The home itself is in a fantastic location, just steps away from the beach, and Tamarindo is a wonderful area to explore.
