Other Things to Note
Dogs and one cat live on the property, but all animals are kept outdoors and not on the immediate property, which is divided by a fence.

Staying at Mary’s house was a pleasure. She had helpful communication during our whole stay. Although our stay was short, we thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful house and city. The house was welcoming, very clean, and we felt extremely safe our whole stay. I’d definitely recommend this place for any travelers coming to Nicaragua.

Mary Jane and Casa Colibri were great!!! the place was better than the photos - great space for our group and loved hanging by the pool - Mary Jane was communicative and provided great recommendations / connections to great restaurants, surf rentals and transport. Would definitely go back.

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Colibri! A gracious, kind, and helpful host in Mary Jane; a wonderful house full of art from all over the world; an invigorating pool that kept the kids engaged; and a central location. What more could one ask? We can't wait to return!

Mary Jane was flexible, accommodating and very helpful throughout our stay, providing us with local recommendations and making sure we felt right at home. The home is great for short or longer term stays - it is even more beautiful than the photos suggest. It is spacious yet intimate, and designed in a way that feels both curated and deeply personal. Every detail tells a story… pieces gathered from travels, antiques and hints of different cultures make it a character-filled space that is warm and inviting. The outdoor space gets both sun and shade, perfect for lounging and swimming all day. This is a home that is truly loved, meticulously cleaned, and well-maintained. We would wholeheartedly recommend this special place to anyone staying in SJDS. Thank you again for such a memorable experience!

This was “home away from home”… Mary Jane is a delight , so sweet, friendly and accomodating. Kitchen was well equipped with everything you might need . Bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and beds are very comfortable. The outdoor area was just what I needed to relax in the mornings with my Italian espresso !! We had a very pleasant stay and will for sure come back in the near future. Thank you Mary Jane!

We spent 10 days at Mary Jane’s place and overall had a great time. The bedrooms all have A/C, the showers are great, the pool is lovely, there is fresh water, and the location is perfect. Just a few steps from many restaurants and shops as well as the beach. The place felt very safe, and Mary Jane was very responsive. There were a few things that were missing or broken that were necessary for a 10 day stay, but Mary Jane quickly supplied us with what we needed. We were informed of a toilet that didn’t work properly when we first arrived, but it never actually functioned unfortunately. There are multiple Airbnb’s in this compound and this one is the closest to the road, so we did get very loud road noise all day as it’s next to a main road, so if you’re in the pool area you will hear traffic. However at night it was very quiet.
