Beautiful home that was perfect for our family's visit to Playa Grande. Location was ideal- right on the beach, and we were able to rent surfboards across the street. A few restaurants were within walking distance, which was a plus.

We LOVED our stay! The private path to the beach was incredible- a 2 minute walk to one of the most beautiful beaches we've visited. The sunsets were stunning. The house was perfect for our needs. Very clean and cozy. Our kids had the best time surfing and checking out all the local wildlife. The restaurant across the street was delish and super convenient! There was a bit of construction next door, but nothing too loud, and it didn't impact our stay.

The location of the house was perfect! The beach was a short walk through the trees and very private. The beach was of course spectacular! Several small cafes on the street. It has it all.

VERY LOUD CONSTRUCTION NOISE FROM SUNRISE TO SUNSET ON WEEKDAYS! You won't "find zen" here unless your mantra is the scream of a concrete saw. For a sample, search youtube shorts keywords "CASA PIPA PLAYA GRANDE COSTA RICA CONSTRUCTION NOISE". GOOD: Playa Grande has great surfing! BAD: 2 story building being built next door. Sunrise-sunset weekdays there is constant hammering & screeches of concrete & steel saws. No privacy, workers look directly into the yard at you. Once construction ends, there will be 3 patios overlooking this house's yard. No cleaning. No extra towels or sheets & they weren't changed during our 8 day stay. When you're wearing sunscreen & going to the beach every day, you need more of these items. Hosts won't let you use washer/dryer, so you can't clean them yourself. They blame pasts guests, but every other vacation house we've rented has had them. We enjoyed our CR vacation immensely, but wish we had stayed somewhere else.

This place is amazing and looked just like the photos when we arrived. The location is fantastic and there is a short, beautiful pathway to the beach. We will be back.

This house is situated on a fantastic, uncrowded beach. It stretches on for long beach walks, the sand is soft, the waves are perfect for boogie boarding, and the water temperature is warm. Each day of our stay we boogied boarded for hours with maybe 15 other people in sight. In the evening there are beautiful sunsets. The outdoor space of the house is great for cooling off in the small pool or relaxing in the hammock. The house is located in a gated community inhabited by tourists, so in order to experience authentic Costa Rican restaurants or culture one must drive to a neighboring town about 15 minutes away. The house itself is as described but be aware no amenities (shampoo) are provided with the exception of small soap discs. The beach itself made our stay wonderful.

Our stay at Casa Pipa was everything and more my son, daughter in law, two young adult grandchildren and I were looking for as the way to wind down our 2 week action filled family vacation in paradise! House, yard, neighborhood, and beach were serene and peaceful, people were friendly and welcoming. The restaurant across the street has delicious food. Although reservations are needed because of its popularity. Two family members took surfing lessons from the experts across the street and thought they were excellent teachers! Our host, Manfred was accessible, helpful, and is a terrific baker! he most popular item in the place was the super comfy pool floatie. Well, that and the beach chairs! All around wonderful experience. We all loved it!

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Pipa! The home was exactly as advertised. Iris was so easy to work with; helped with dinner reservations. Excellent guide/resource book emailed prior to arrival. Manfred the local house manager was so nice to work with, orient us to the home, and make us feel welcome immediately. We enjoyed Manfred's homemade pastries; so delicious! The home is very clean and comfortable. We found the beds and pillows very comfortable. So private and the private beach access was just magical! Was so nice to go through the gate, walk a beautiful little forest path, to find the amazing beach and Pacific ocean!!! Any questions; answered immediately. Just a total chill place for ultimate relaxation while being able to walk the neighborhood and enjoy the lovely small restaurants and market. We didn't rent a car and didn't feel the need for one. Our driver brought us to the supermarket before our arrival so we had everything we needed; the home, pool, beach!! Thank you!!!

We had a nice stay at Casa Pipa. Unfortunately the months of September and October many of the stores and restaurants in the neighborhood close for the off season. If visiting during this time I would suggest having a rental car. The house has wonderful access to the beach and there is a good surfing break right outside the home. Manfred the house manager was very responsive and helpful whenever we had issues.
